New details on Order of the Phoenix
RedFlu has sent us new, very detailed information on the current plan for the beginning of Order of the Phoenix. These could be considered spoilers by some, so we have a link below to take you to the description. At most, this is a rough plan for the arrangement of the beginning of the film and chances are it will adjusted. Nonetheless, an interesting read for anyone interesting in seeing the plan so far for the film!
"The film starts with Harry in the street, when he meets Dudley. This part is like
the book. The one difference is that the fight happens in the atrium of the
Dursley's house. After this fight, the Advanced Guard appears and takes Harry to the Sirius' house. When Harry enters, they tell him it all what in the book Sirius tells him by letter. Hermione and Ron tell him about the OotP and the others say him about the hearing in the Minister. The next scene shows Harry and Mr. Weasley in a big hall in the Minister. In that place it's the hearing and they introduce us to Umbridge. The part in wich we see Lucius talking with Fudge has been removed. Then, the dinner before the Hogwarts Express. Ron and Hermione receive their letter, with the annunce of prefects. Harry is jealous.

After this, Harry appears in the train. He talks a bit with Luna. Hermione and Ron aren't there. Ginny says that they're with the other prefect. For the first time we'll see how they mount the carriage, but it only will be to see the thestrals. Then, we will see the first dinner, when we can see to Dolores Umbridge as professor and also see that Hagrid is not in Hogwarts.

From here, my uncle just told me diferentes things, like there'll be classes with Snape and Dolores. We'll have Grawp, too. The quidditch will be mentioned, but we won't see it, because in the last game we watch the scene when Harry meets Grawp. There will be exams, and also there'll be Occlumency lessons. Snape tell Harry he will have Oclumency lessons at the end of one of potions lessons, and not in Grimmauld Place.

In the last battle, all the wizards will be there. The scene of the battle between
Harry and Voldemort has been written three times, because they don't know when
Dumbledore has to appear.

In September they'll shoot the last battle."

O wow. I'm like last comment. I'm not really following the beginning tho. Is the 'fight" the dementor attack? It doesnt sound like it. And how reliable is this source anyway? They didn't mention where they are getting all their info from. I dunno....fishy.....

Posted by Chrisell Aug 1st 2006

Well, Rupert will get to ride on the thestrals which I'm sure is probably the same technique as the Quidditch so big deal if they don't have it. As long as they keep the Quidditch storylines, I'm fine. I hope they keep the library scene as well but it wasn't really fundamental so they can cut it.

Posted by HPKatie Aug 1st 2006

omg! my uncle said thats EXACTLY how this movie wouldstart. wat a coincedence??!?!

Posted by hermoniehr Aug 1st 2006

Cool!!! Cnat wiat to see everything next year!!!

Posted by Arinia Aug 1st 2006

Wow, a bit disapointed. They seem to be rushing things a bit too quickly but that could just be me. I really hope they don't butcher this like GOF because OOTP is my second favourite book. Bah I was hoping for the fight between Sirius and Snape but whatever, I at least hope they establish a Sirius/Harry realtionship because the audience( or non HP readers at least) won't feel for Harry when he dies.

"The film starts with Harry in the street, when he meets Dudley. This part is like the book" That implies that the dementors will be outdoors, everyone! yay. It says it's like the book. That must mean that the dementor goes according to canon. I imagine they wll all run into the house, to flee anf the fight will start. Anyone agree?

Posted by eloisemidgen Aug 1st 2006

This sounds like they're at least doing the first part of the book justice. It sounds as though this is going to be a long movie! The first part alone should take at least 1/2 to 3/4 hours. I am already gettting antsy for the movie to come out!

Posted by The_Fat_Lady Aug 1st 2006

This was a cool update! I am so excited to see the fifth movie but I really cannot wait to read book 7. Good stuff. I'm relishing every moment we have left!

Posted by nearly_headless_nick Aug 1st 2006

I agree LJB85! And it's going all so fast: movies, book 7... you are right The_Fat_Lady we have to enjoy every moment left!

Posted by House_of_Black Aug 1st 2006

The Movie Mantra the directors seem to live by is: if its not about Harry, cut it!. So probably we won't see the great Snape/Sirius scene, but will see Captain Capslock (great name, woot!) shouting. I agree with r4v3ncl4w though, that POA is the best of the 4 so far. I hope we don't see too much of Grawp, I always speed past his scenes in the book...till the end, when Umbridge (hatehatehateher) gets involved. I hope Grawp is better CGI than Dorky Dobbie.

Posted by xoxDumbledorexox Aug 1st 2006

you know what my problem with the whole cutting stuff out issue is? ok so they say that they HAVE to cut stuff out becuz other wise it would be crazy long which is true, but then why do they waste film and time and money on stuff that wasnt even in the book like in POA there was soo much stuff left out and sooo much stuff put in that wasnt there in the books, so why put in fake stuff inplace of real stuff??? it doesnt make sense! is that true or am i just crazy?

Posted by Deppified Aug 1st 2006

Inside the Dursley's house? wellwell. OMG I AM SOOOOOOOOO BLOOODY EXITED !!!!!! WICKED !! I AM LITERALLY JUMPING AROUND IN THE HOUSE NOW ... because I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE MOVIE !! gaaaaahhhh, they mentioned Sirius. I gotta stop beeing so happy everytime someone mentions his name. But ... but .... I was soooooooo looooking foooorward to the the little fight betwen Snape and Sirius !! OMG WHY CAN'T THEY HAVE THAT IN THE MOVIE ?? That was one of those things I was looking the most forward to. ... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA .... oh, sorry I'm writing in caps.lock, it's just that I am so exited. My exitement can never be described.

People posting on the Leaky Cauldron are being very sceptical and saying that the whole summary is a hoax. xoxDumbledorexox: POA had tiny bits of funny stuff added that made the school and the mood really come to life...I know lots of people hated the bird that kept fluttering around, but it was funny and probably didn't take the place of anything we really needed to see.

ok now that iv gotten over my initial anger at this report, it started to sink in that this is the beginning of the end of the harry potter era. its almost over. one more book 3 more movies. its going to go by so fast. i almost feel as though i would rather wait a thousand years for the end of harry potter than have it be over in a matter of months. i have grown up with harry. hes been my role model for years and years and years and i cant imagine how jo must be feeling if its this painful for me. harry=love

Posted by House_of_Black Aug 1st 2006

sorry for the multi-posting-letter spew above...computer going slow...and me impatient (hey Rockstar Supernova is on soon!) xoxDumbledorexox: I agree that I don't want the ride to end. A month ago, Mugglenet asked if we wanted the movie and the book to come out at the same time next summer and I voted No, because i want to stretch out the fun.

Posted by mandi Aug 1st 2006

that's so exciting!

Posted by Micino Aug 1st 2006

Can't wait to see it! Even though it does sound rather rushed and choppy like the fourth one was, nonHP readers might have problems with it but that's their fault, read the book. The 5th is my favorite so I really hope the movie does it justice. Although, I am worried when I read the part that said, >"The scene of the battle between Harry and Voldemort has been written three times, because they don't know when Dumbledore has to appear."< How could they NOT KNOW WHEN?!?!?! It's made quiet clear in the book...so how could they be having problems?

Posted by Fluffy Aug 1st 2006

Sounds like they're cutting waaay too much, but I guess they can't avoid that because the book is 870 pages lol... i'm still soooo excited for this!!! next july!!

Posted by LJB85 Aug 1st 2006

Although the Snape/Sirius fight might be lost...they could still show something similar for a later scene at Grimmauld Place. Maybe around christmas....Snape still comes around and they say it's for his report for the order??? Can only hope.

Posted by potterfan22 Aug 1st 2006

I only read half of the first paragraph just to see how it starts a bit cuz i didn't want it to spoil anything! But it sounds pretty cool so far! I can't wait till the movie is finally out!!!!

Posted by Nely_Longbottom Aug 1st 2006

Pretty much good this editing!!! I hope they really do it like this. I'm just curious of what they will do with Mrs. Figgs, because there is someone cast for her. It would be really good to have dementors inside the Dursley's house. Think about the scene... it should be really funny... just like the bit with aunt Maggie in PoA. Well... I'm sad we won't be seeing Ron flying. I would love that!!!

Posted by Nely_Longbottom Aug 1st 2006

I've read all the comments and people are just forgetting a thing. THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING OF THE MOVIE!!!

Posted by nala12317 Aug 2nd 2006

the dementor fight happens in the atrium?? how are they gonna work that without the dursely's noticing?

Posted by alan_potter_prieto Aug 2nd 2006

im really excited :D

Posted by Sarah76 Aug 2nd 2006

ALL the wizards will be there in the final battle??? But hasnt Alan Rickman already filmed all his parts as Snape? Cant wait til July tho!

Posted by felena90 Aug 2nd 2006

Ummm... Well, maybe I wish I hadn't read this - for one only reason: I hate getting disappointed in a non-released film. Especially Harry Potter film... And, well, the description I already don't like. Maybe I'm just being prejudiced; obvioulsy I do understand that they can't include every scene from the book in the movie, but every moment they ever delete seems sooo important to me! What about the howler? What about Harry shouting at Ron and Hermione? What will they do about Cho? How can they not include the first Quidditch game after all?? Will they explain everything about Percy? (for I do believe he will play some importnat role in the last book...) Well, there are lots of scenes they are bound to make but probably won't... Oh God, I just wish the 5th film would be at least more "smooth" than the Goblet of Fire! And still can't wait ;)

Posted by ajrome Aug 2nd 2006

SO excited!

Posted by annikjudkins Aug 2nd 2006

well, at 1st it sounds cool, but then as i read on i get very upset! how could they do it like that? they better not cut out where the twins leave, i will be so mad it they do!

Posted by hufflepuff Aug 2nd 2006

What a JOKE. There's no way I'm seeing another crappy Potter movie. Sigh... why must you ruin my favorite books WB?!?

Posted by TherealMrsRadcliffe Aug 2nd 2006

Cool, but if this is true then Patricio's uncle shouldn't be telling all this . And if it isn't true then is pretty sad.

Posted by Kadaj Aug 2nd 2006

This movie is going to suck big time. And the sad thing is that all WB needs to do is slap the HP name onto the movie for them to get millions in the box office. Pathetic. Especially when you look at the kind of actors they are able to get in the movies. They just dont put in the extra effort, which is sad. If the plan described is not real, which I dont think it is, the movie is still going to be very disappointing.

Posted by broadwayybabe Aug 2nd 2006

sdiufvbnaweur!! It sounds really awesome! I hope they didnt leave out too many big things... I cant wait to see Dumbledore fighting Voldemort and how they portrayed when Voldemort, err, dissappeared...

Posted by mugglehp Aug 2nd 2006

Hey hey! Hope we get to hear a definate title for the 7th book soon!!!!!! I'm so impatient lol! Hurry up!!!!!! tee hee hee all these rumours are driving me nuts! The angels are stealing my sanity!!!! I can't wait to see Evanna Lynch in action! Luna is my Fave! the film needs to come out NOW! razzmatazzness is here! love you lots like jelly tots and vodka shots! Natasha x

Posted by rn362 Aug 2nd 2006

HOW DO YOU KNOW ALL THIS?! DOES YOUR UNCLE WORK FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by JoCool64 Aug 2nd 2006

Wow!!!!

Posted by zonko Aug 2nd 2006

hmm. just as i thought. The dementors ARE going to be there cos then he has to go for the hearing..WHAT ABOUT THE UNOPENABLE LOCKET and the black family tree??they may be significant to book 7! Anyway,i think dumbledore's army may be cut and the kiss might ust be stuffed in the plot. The detention with umbridge and fred and george flying away should be ther. That make us hate umbridge. As for the ending.....IT SHOULD'NT BE CHANGED AT ALL.

Posted by scurvy_cur Aug 2nd 2006

well it doesnt sound too bad really, lots of great scenes have been included, the only thing i really dislike is the lack of quidditch :(

Posted by hplove Aug 2nd 2006

I hope they don't cut out too much. In the 4th movie they cut out way too much. Like S.P.E.W, Hagrid being half giant, Dobby and Winky working at Hogwarts, Harry and Krum finding Mr. Crouch in the forest (crazy), Mrs. Weasley and Bill coming to see the third task, and most importantly the part where Hermione finds out that Rita Skeeter is an unregistered Animagus cause this is important for the 5th one where they threaten her to write the article in the Qubblier.

Posted by stardust Aug 2nd 2006

wow! thats so cool, but u didnt mention the dementor scene is that still going to be in the film????

Posted by hplove Aug 2nd 2006

Oh and the Fight being in Dudley's house is stupid. They better not cut out the part where the kids are eaves dropping, and they hear Harry is connected to Voldemort, and Harry thinks that he shouldn't talk to anybody cause he might start attacking them. And also the part about Harry writing in the Qubbiler the names of the Death Eaters.

Posted by QuidditchMaster14 Aug 2nd 2006

That kind of stinks. They leave out some of the most important details that are crucial to the next movie and book. But then again they have been doing that since book 1. The books are way better and every one should just stick to reading them instead of watching the bits and pieces of it on the television.

Posted by In_IT Aug 2nd 2006

I am not really looking forward to this movie. By this little summary it has the same problms as the last two. (fade in/fade out). It lacks flow. At least maybe in this move they will get the content right, like maybe the house tryouts. By the sound of things I dont think they will have Harry shouting at Ron or Hermione. Did the thing talk about the DA. If there is no DA the movie will be crappy

Posted by mariapuff Aug 2nd 2006

I cant wait for the movie to come out! It sounds really good, hopefully Dan wont spoil the dramatic parts with his horrible fake crying like he did in the third movie. Im probably going to cry when Sirius dies, hes my favorite character.

Posted by Arinia Aug 2nd 2006

In_It I think the DA is in there because they actors have been talking about filimg those scenes. I agree with you, if they didn't have it I'd be pissed.

Posted by ronroxmysox Aug 2nd 2006

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..... they cant change that!! I mean the fight CANNOT take place in the dursleys' house! that's insane, dammit! and no scene where mrs. weasely becomes overprotective f harry and argues with sirius?? no questins that haryy was suppoused to ask??

Posted by Flying_Cows Aug 2nd 2006

Ooh that sounds lovely! Can't wait =]

Harry learned quickly not to feel too sorry for the gnomes. He decided just to drop the first one he caught over the hedge, but the gnome, sensing weakness, sank its razor-sharp teeth into Harry's finger and he had a job shaking it off — until — "Wow, Harry — that must've been fifty feet..."
