LEGO, WB announce new Harry Potter video game
LEGO, WB announce new Harry Potter video game If you're a fan of the original Harry Potter LEGO game, we have some exciting news to share! At this year's E3 gaming convention, a brand new Potter LEGO game was announced:

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 will give gamers the chance to experience the magic and adventure of Harry Potter in a new and uniquely LEGO way. Playing as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, as well as other favourite characters, gamers will have the opportunity to attend lessons, cast spells, mix potions, fly on broomsticks and complete tasks to earn house points. Throughout the game, players will also have the freedom to explore iconic settings from the wizarding world including Hogwarts castle, Diagon Alley, the Forbidden Forest and the village of Hogsmeade!

Read many more details about the game right here. You can also see a great trailer for the game at this link. Thanks to everyone (and there were many of you) who wrote in with the news!

That looks fun xD

I loved LEGO Indiana Jones, and I have no reason to not believe that LEGO Harry Potter would be great as well.

ok........ this looks weird.

Posted by AndrewW Jun 1st 2009

LOL!!!! that trailer was funny. How Hgrid sort of bounces out from behind them and hands Harry his letter, and how Harry blinks when he is put on the doorstep. It looks like fun.

Sounds cool. My brother was really into the Lego Star Wars playstation 2 games, so it sounds like Lego games are good!

Posted by Lupinpatronus Jun 1st 2009

Wow! I'm surprised LEGO decided to do this, seeing as they discontinued the actual Harry Potter line of toys. Perhaps they're trying to reinvigorate interest? There's still one (really, two) movies left to make products for. Anyway, this game looks like a lot of fun. I've enjoyed LEGO Indiana Jones and LEGO Star Wars - I'm just wondering how this will distinguish itself from the EA Potter games, aside from the building factor of the LEGO environments. And 2010?! Ugh, too long to wait!

YES! I sent a letter to lego when lego star wars came out to do a new one and they ignored it, but look at the TRAILER! I was always a fan of the lego sets, and was confused as to why they would not do a 6th movie one, as there are so many good lego sets to make out of it!

Posted by Lici430 Jun 1st 2009

yay! sooo excited. I love all the Lego games including Lego Star Wars and Indiana Jones. I can't wait to play Batman and couldn't be more excited about this Harry Potter version. Also it's great to know that there will be 2 of them.

YES!Ever since the LEGO STar Wras came out Ive been waiting for a LEGO Hp game.

Hahaha! the little LEGO Harry Potter looks so cute, But he has no nose!!! How are we supposed to differentiate between him and Voldemort if he has no nose!!! :D

Posted by Ravenxl7 Jun 1st 2009

That looks pretty cool, and funny. I'll definitely be getting it. I won't be surprised if they then made a second one for movies 5-8. Though I'm still a bit disappointed with Lego, after the whole "HBP is too dark to make Lego sets of" bs they fed us a while back. Oh well, they could still come back and make sets for the last two movies.

I WAS HOPING THEY'D MAKE A LEGO HARRY POTTER GAME!

Posted by camken Jun 1st 2009

@GwenTheAnnoying, the funny thing is that Voldemort is the closest character in lego to even have a nose. Lego made him with the little snake nose.

WOHOO! THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS CHRIST HAS COME!!! I'VE ALWAYS WAITED FOR A LEGO HP VIDEO GAME SINCE THE VERY FIRST STAR WARS GAME CAME, AND NOW I GET MY WISH!!! THIS IS GONNA BE LOADS BETTER THAN THE LAME EA HP STORY GAMES COMBINED!!! I GOT THE LEGO BATMAN, WHICH IS THE BEST LEGO GAME YET, AND I THOUGHT THEY WERE GONNA MAKE A LEGO SPIDER-MAN, BUT THIS ONE IS GONNA TOP THEM ALL! :)

Posted by javan_weasley Jun 1st 2009

I KNOW RIGHT "sweet sweet victory is here..." lol

Posted by Monkey0 Jun 1st 2009

.......................FA CEPALM. Oh my god that is so obnoxious. I can't believe anyone is taking this seriously.

Posted by Ann Jun 2nd 2009

I'm just glad there's a toy product - even if it is a video game. We still love the polly-pocket-type sets we bought of all the places in the first two movies, and wish there were more lego sets. We can't even find trading cards (they had them at Target for about 25 minutes a couple of summers ago) or sticker books or anything anymore. And Batman is WAY darker (or at least as dark) as HP. It's probably more due to the fact that the die-hard HP's are aging-out of actual Legos. Oh - and at first I thought that was suposed to be an invisibility cloak too. The glasses look stupid on a baby. They should sell an "action figure" that's just an empty box that says "Harry beneath the invisibility cloak." That would rock.

Monkey0 i'm not being serious i'm excited for the game but not that excited stop taking everything so seriously geez
