Posted by Noodles Aug 2nd 2006

This reading wasn't as good as I expected. Not enough questions that were relatively interesting.

Posted by xoxDumbledorexox Aug 2nd 2006

Posted by Kadaj Aug 2nd 2006

She might leave loose ends? No Jo! Please dont do that. We want answers to ALL our questions!

Posted by Clamshell Aug 2nd 2006

Oh, excellent, I was a bit bothered by what Mugglenet had written. They were being sort of vague.. But this is much better! Thanks, Miriam :) oooh... I wish I was there!

Posted by Manon Aug 2nd 2006

Great! A pity that there are going to be some loose ends in book 7, I also hope nothing important. I'm curious which questions and answers will be in the second reading. I hope more questions and answers about book 7.

Posted by nundukilla Aug 2nd 2006

oh yes this is so much better! i wish i could have been there, its only a 2 hour drive. AND ITS MY BIRTHDAY! alas it was sold out before i could say "quidditch"

re: Noodles "This reading wasn't as good as I expected. Not enough questions that were relatively interesting." I'm surprised you were disappointed. I thought the entire program was excellent and that JKR was fantastic. As far as the questions, we knew they were going to be pre-selected and carefully screened, keeping that in mind I'm glad that there were at least a few that we hadn't heard before (ie Hermoine and the mirror, JK actually began her answer stating that on one had asked her taht before.)

Posted by Magic_and_Castles Aug 2nd 2006

I like the way people are asking questions these days, ones that we can get answers to without it runing the story so she actually answers them- like the Hermoine and the mirror one. Good report though, good questions asked. I'm sure that if she doesnt tie everything up in the book she'll tell us anyways. I hope she gives Mugglenet and Leaky another interview after the last book so she can anwser all the questions we want answerd, and she wont hold back once the last books out.

Posted by dalhia15 Aug 2nd 2006

omg, this is soo good!! but it wouldve been better if we could actually see her, like a movie link, but otherwise i am really greatful.

I cannot wait to see the videostream. I think it is so wonderful that this event benefits both all of Jo's and Harry's fans and such a wonderful organization as Doctors without Borders. I was a little miffed that USA Today.com published one of Jo's comments incorrectly. In their report on the press conference and review of the reading, rather than using Jo's word, "sadism", they said, "Asked about complaints that her series encourages Satanism, Rowling replied, "I'm toughening them up for John's and Stephen's books....It's a cruel literary world out there."" Lord knows that there are people out there will take that and run with it, saying that Jo admits to encouraging the dark arts. I encourage all of you to just send a quick email to USAToday.com letting them know how important it is that, when they quote someone, they do it correctly.

Posted by katiemay Aug 2nd 2006

Wow, that was really good. I like how Hermione would see the 3 of them alive and unharmed. That was kind of an "awwww, she loves her friends" moment. lol, I'm so sensitive..

Posted by zacz Aug 2nd 2006

Well thats the difference between Hermione and Harry - Harry, with his saving people thing, would see EVERYONE safe and happy.

Posted by Mrs_Finnegan Aug 2nd 2006

That was a excellent report...

Posted by lupe_the_chosen_one Aug 2nd 2006

ooo interesting... i wish i coudve been there (yah rite like i have any money) did anyone here about sephen king and some other guy cant remember his name but he was an author telling JK not to kill harry? i for one would think she should if harry wasnt so popular and gr8... oh well

Posted by zachattack Aug 2nd 2006

Very Cool!!! Top 20?

Posted by the_chosen_girl Aug 2nd 2006

YAY! I was the one who asked about what Hermione would see if she looked in the Mirror of Erised. Hopefully I didn't sound too bad, I was so unbelievably nervous. Andrew didn't help, he reminded me that all of the boys from MuggleCast and the other 6,000 people were watching.

Posted by bkwrm0502 Aug 2nd 2006

the_chosen_girl, you were? You were great! I really liked that question...and her answer was awesome!

Posted by the_chosen_girl Aug 2nd 2006

Yeah, thanks. I was shaking so much before that. I was fine in my seat but then when I was walked up there I started to get nervous again.

Posted by sirusstar Aug 2nd 2006

I LOVE reading these things! I find them very exciting!

Posted by ValGal292 Aug 2nd 2006

Jo! Please don't leave loose ends!!! hermione wants to be with Ron!!! :-P hee hee...I am a HUGE R/Hr shipper :-D

Posted by the_chosen_girl Aug 2nd 2006

Haha me too. Yay for more anvil-sized hints!

Posted by HarrysWay Aug 2nd 2006

oi, i live only an hour away from the city, and i wanted to go sooo bad, but everything was too expensive (or at least the seats tht were left :-P ) haha oh well, by the reading, it sounded great, and i think those were very good question to ask bc really, shes not gonna answer any questions about book seven or stuff tht may be revealed in the book! and i t hought the whole hermione and the mirror was a REALLY interesting question... haha totally agree with ValGal292... she was totally hugging ron! hahaha!!! r/hr = love!!!! :-D

Posted by katiemay Aug 2nd 2006

I love those anvils, too ;) "Well thats the difference between Hermione and Harry - Harry, with his saving people thing, would see EVERYONE safe and happy." True. I think it shows a lot about their personalities. Hermione's more of a realist, hoping to save the few who mean most, not expecting much more. Harry, on the other hand, would be dissapointed if basically anyone was killed.

Posted by trevorthetoad Aug 2nd 2006

very interesting.... THANK YOU jkr for getting an agent quickly like you did and not ending up teaching with the hp manuscript sitting somewhere, unread by anyone, gathering dust.

Posted by katie19 Aug 2nd 2006

Wow, that was great. I hope that in the second reading she gives a little more away. Very intresting answer to Hermione and the Mirror. Kudos to the_chosen_girl for asking such a good question. Great report.

Posted by DADARULES Aug 2nd 2006

wow that's realey cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by DADARULES Aug 2nd 2006

i agree with HarrsWay 22 and ValGal292 she and ron are so going to go out !!!!!!!!!!!! but i don't think she realy sees this hole dark lord stuff!?!?!?!?

Posted by colourmeconfused Aug 2nd 2006

Oh, ROFL, what happened with the 'shippers? Hopefully they just giggled, right? If they did, good for them.

Posted by RHLover7 Aug 2nd 2006

Great recap, and thanks for helping me remember the two questions that I forgot. I was there last night and it was great to hear all of her answers. The question about Hermione and the Mirror was by far the best question, and people all around me, myself included, were mumbling about how great it was that it was worded so we'd get a good answer. As usual, the answer was vague, but if she's seeing herself with Harry and Ron happy and alive with Voldemort dead, and if you've paid any attention to what Jo's been saying about ships, then it's not hard to draw your own conclusions about who the person is that she is closely entwined with. The question about the internet was also interesting, and I just wanted to add that when she mentioned the Harry/Hermione ship and the small group of people cheered and she said "you're still out there?" and people laughed, I'm almost positive she said "Let it go" after that. It was hard to hear through the laughing, but I was watching the screen so I was able to read her lips. I'm fairly certain she said something along the lines of "Let it go." Anyway, I loved to hear that redemption is possible for all her characters except Voldemort. It means my theory on Snape not being a bad guy is still plausible.

Posted by voldiesgirlfriend Aug 2nd 2006

it wasn't what i have expected but what can i say?. cheers~

Posted by mashu_pichu_wiz Aug 2nd 2006

Wish I were there... (Gotta go read the recap now!)

Posted by PoTtErfanatic4 Aug 2nd 2006

way to go the_chosen_girl!!!!!!i loved that question and answer!!!

Posted by Sionwitch Aug 2nd 2006

Thank you Miriam, that was a great report, very detailed. I love the idea of Draco redemption and I hope that if she leaves loose ends she give us the answers after the book is released.

Posted by basteed Aug 2nd 2006

Ohh, great recap. All the questions that were asked were really great! I'm crossing my fingers that Snape and Draco will be redeemed, but I have a terrible feeling that Snape's a gonner in the end. Nooo!

Posted by amzgra12 Aug 2nd 2006

I was there last night and this is an excellent review, not really anything I could add to it. It was actually very emotional for me to actually see JKR on the stage. The reading was wonderful and the question and answer session was a lot of fun to watch. And I have to say I enjoyed the readings by Stephen King and John Irving also. And I could be wrong but I thought I saw Emerson's brother Dylan outside before the show started. I thought mugglenet would be there tonight rather than last night.

Posted by marsisbrighttonight Aug 2nd 2006

awesome!!!

Posted by kitiara Aug 2nd 2006

There are a couple of videos already available (I'm at work and cannot watch them) if you go to Yahoo News and select Entertainment. One video each of JKR interviews, just posted on there a couple of hours ago each, by CNN and AP.

Posted by LindaW Aug 2nd 2006

ooo-I really liked the question about Hermione and the mirror....I liked the answer, too...now that I think about it. Anyway- it sounds cool- I wish I could've been there.....

Posted by evilbutsexy Aug 2nd 2006

There were a couple good questions. Ok, is anyone just insanely jealous that they could NOT go? Yeahhh I definately am!

Posted by LindaW Aug 2nd 2006

http://www.cnn.com/SHOWBIZ/ theres a video there.

Posted by the_chosen_girl Aug 2nd 2006

Thank you everyone for loving my question. I'm still in awe about last night, I met so many cool people and was waved at by JK Rowling. (At least I think I was, if not I'd prefer to stay ignorant about it) I'm still in awe.

Posted by the_chosen_girl Aug 2nd 2006

Oh yeah, my question was about Hermione and the Mirror of Erised just so you know.

Posted by Watermelon Aug 2nd 2006

lol... Hermione would see herself closely entwined with another person. ;D
