Posted by HProx Aug 5th 2006

I hate the fact that they come out o fridays - when we have school!! oh well.......I CAN'T WAIT!!! lol. :):):)

Posted by Elphie Aug 5th 2006

that's only like almost a year after the 5th one is released..... yay!!

Posted by dobby_rocks Aug 5th 2006

Its far to long for me to even worry about it to be honest. Whose to know if I’ll even be a live in 2 years , grant I accept to be but accidents do happen. Its 16 months after OOTP movie comes out

Posted by ailescassees91 Aug 5th 2006

It's wierd they can tell when it'll come out, without having chosen the cast, director, or started making it at all. But whatever, I guess it's good to know they're on a schedule.

Posted by katie19 Aug 5th 2006

Wow, this is so early for a release date. I just hope that they can keep the same cast. It would seem so different with someone else playing them. I hope they can hang on for 2 more movies! Anyway, I can't wait. Now we have 3 release dates to look forward to, but we still dont know one of them. Okay I am rambeling. I am excited!

Posted by asia_canada Aug 5th 2006

they don't know who the director's gonna be but they know when it's gonna be released? that's kinda odd... but that's really sweet 2.... harry potter dates for our future: July 7th 2007 - Harry Potter 7 ---- hopefully July 13th 2007 - Harry Potter 5 movie November 21st 2008 - Harry Potter 6 movie :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Posted by yowzathisrules Aug 5th 2006

Wow! The movie will come out on the day of my 15th birthday! That's ages away. I'm 12 at the moment.

Posted by sectumsempra99 Aug 5th 2006

Thats so far away, but anyway, YAY!

Posted by benmanu Aug 5th 2006

they have already give the date for the sixth film and the fifth is not finish yet. well november 21st 2008, that is for great britain and usa i suppose. i don't expect to know the date for france now lol. the fourth film was released in november 2005, the fifth in july 2007, the sixth is suppose to be released in november 2008, can we expect the last film to be released in june (like poa) or july (like ootp) 2009? well i suppose JKR would have finished writing the book 7 in 2009 lol.

Posted by NeonDisease Aug 5th 2006

I agree that I'd rather hear Book 7s title than Movie 6's release date, but any information is good information! ***This is off-topic, but somebody needs to search the COPYRIGHTED NAMES again! If she thought of a new serious possibility for the Book 7 title, then WB will be copyrighting it pretty soon.... :D ***

Posted by D1gg0ry Aug 5th 2006

Two years to go until the movie of my favorite book so far, OOTP is just around the corner though. 2 years:3 months: 16 days...

Posted by Weazley_is_MY_King Aug 5th 2006

WHOOT! Yay! OOTP's not even out yet and we've already got a HBP release date! Hooray!!!!! The sad part is that it's all coming to an end. . . . . :'( Ah well, good things never last (as much as we want them to!)

Posted by confused Aug 5th 2006

That seems like an eternity away. I guess that after the seventh book releases the only thing that we can look forward to are the movies.

Posted by PotterChickFoSho Aug 5th 2006

cool, i wasnt expectinf that for like another 93649 days!! haha well i hope they keep dan emma and rupert!! if not that would just confuse everyone!!

Posted by Nevera Aug 5th 2006

I'll be in college by then, holy cow. They're setting out the HBP train wrather early aren't they?

Posted by dumbledores_bredrin Aug 5th 2006

yaaaaaaayyy! wow i just CANNOT wait! most of the movies always come near my birthday(20th november), what a great birthday present for me! wow, i hope all the original actors will still be in it!

Posted by justlikehermione429 Aug 5th 2006

It was likely that they would follow the pattern that has developed for releasing the movies, (nov was next again) and then theyll probably release the 7th June 2010, with 2009 being without anything, like 2006. Addutionally when Dan filmes the 6th movie he will not be 19. He is a year behind me, (therefre Rupert is in my year) and will only be 17 going on 18, as he just turned 17. They start filming next June or so. RUpert will be nearly 19 and will proably 19 for most of the filming as he is born in Aug. Emma is a year behind Dan and therefore will be 16 going on 17 as she is 16 now.

Posted by ThePostMan Aug 5th 2006

that's exciting that's exciting can't wait!

Posted by daydayhp Aug 5th 2006

OMG that's awesome! We should make an official countdown button to go along with OOTP!

Posted by chitraghani Aug 5th 2006

Yay!! I know it's two years later, but it's all good. There's enough to keep me busy until then :P

Posted by ronlvr Aug 5th 2006

CAN NOT WAIT!!! even though it's 2 years from now it's the best news i've had all day :) the cast better not change either....that would be a crime.

Posted by AloysiusWeasley Aug 5th 2006

I'm delighted they're released a due date for Movie 6-I know I'll probably be flamed out of the water on this one, but I'm really hoping Movies 5 and 6 are better than the GoF movie. The deviances from the book were appalling, and the hokey one-liners added ("I killed Harry Potter!" and "I'll show you mine if you show me yours." come to mind) KILLED me in the theatre. I definitely wouldn't mind a longer movie with an intermission - if they could do it for Titanic, I'm sure they could do it for the HP movies. (Though I hope the ever-so-gagworthy line from the PoA movie horrified other Hermione fans too "Is that really how my hair looks from the back??" *sounds of loud vomiting*). It sounds as though Book 7 will be released long before HBP come out in theatres - Bloomsbury and Scholastic punlishers have both done press releases stating the Book should come out in 2007 (I'm personally thinking another July/summer release, which would make July 2007 a definite highlight!). On the thought of casting, I hope I'm not alone in wishing feverently that M. Night Shamalayn won't be directing the HBP movie - the GoF director was bad enough. Also, I had a thought on Dumbledore - I realize the brilliant actor who played him in SS and CoS is now deceased (rest his soul), but I would really enjoy it if whoever is playing him now would please desist. Leaky Cauldron had a brilliant and inspired review of GoF, and the author was right on-he certainly seems to deviate from the Headmaster and role model of Harry Potter and we all know and love. I personally recommend an actor they've apparently never asked to step in to play Dumbledore in the final movies: Patrick Stewart. Hey, if he can pull off Professor Xavier(X-Men), I think he'd be a great choice for D. Also-am I the only one who thinks the actress slated to play Luna looks like an extra from Sweet Valley High?

Posted by PadfootBaby Aug 5th 2006

Holy crap! How can they do that already? They can't know... Wow. I agree with thehillsx48... these people are insane...

Posted by stargazerlois Aug 5th 2006

Sounds a little too early considering it takes 2 years to make a HP movie. This sounds like false info.

Posted by ConCon Aug 5th 2006

What? Shouldnt we be counting down to OotP?

Posted by dreamy_leo Aug 5th 2006

This is great. Wow, that is very soon after Ootp. I think it's a nice time space between them. But merlins beard, we're already talking about move 6...the end is looking nearer and nearer.

Posted by BaileEnLaLluvia7 Aug 5th 2006

This is awesome! I cannot believe I will be 19 when movie 6 comes out. WOW by the time movie 7 comes out I could be 22 or 23. That is so weird. Hooray(SP?) for Harry Potter!

Posted by crisalide Aug 5th 2006

OMG you have got to be kidding, 2008?!? I can't wait that long and I thought HP7 and movie 5 were supposed to be released the same year.

Posted by dramionerox Aug 5th 2006

Now instead of waiting for two years for the upcoming movie, we just have to wait for a year and a few months! YAAAAAY! I'm excited! LOL

Posted by Gyffindor_Lioness Aug 5th 2006

So glad that we wont have to wait two-three years between the movies.

Posted by the_chosen_girl Aug 5th 2006

Ahhh that's too long to wait for Gambon to die! Hurry up!

Posted by D1gg0ry Aug 5th 2006

Well I guess thats not that much of a wait, to the 6th from the 5th, and I onwder if they wil change it, its pretty far from now...

Posted by laughingeyes927 Aug 5th 2006

Oh my God, already? WOW. But very very very exciting! I can't wait!

Posted by mugglecast_fan Aug 5th 2006

WOW! This is super-early for a release date! Still, that's way cool!! ~Alli PS Think, by that time we'll have Book 7!!

Posted by HarrylurvesGinny Aug 5th 2006

SQUEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN SO NOT WAIT! YAY FOR MOVIE 6!!!!!!! i might bring my boyfriend when i go see it with my best friend Lills, cuz when i will need some MAJOR comfort when Dumbledore dies. -sobs-

Posted by Grey Aug 5th 2006

I would love it if Jo takes like 5 years writing the last book. I would laugh at the people who scedule the movies so close togeter:) have they ever anounced the reliese of a movie so far a head yet? counting their chickens before they hatch if you ask me...

Posted by hermy91 Aug 5th 2006

"Wow, Ill be in college by then, freaky, the 7th book will be out in paperback(maybe), and the movie series will almost be over, i wonder if that means the 7th movie will be out by Jan of 2010, then it will really all be over, wow, 3 1/2 years and there will be nothing left " don't say that! lets hope jk rowling changes her mind and she decides to do more harry potter books!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by Dan_fan Aug 5th 2006

finally we know the date. I'm so excited. I can't belive the series is almost over.

Posted by Grey Aug 5th 2006

It's really sad that we are so close to the end but it's also really beautiful and exciting. Most of us that have "grown up" with the books will be graduating or already in collage and it will really be a good send off. Sort of a closeing but really more of an opening of another part of our lives. What will we do after Harry Potter? I think that some of us (just like Jo) have to ask our selves the same question.

Posted by Dan_Loves_Me Aug 5th 2006

That wait is going to kill me lol

Posted by Arodhpfan0013 Aug 5th 2006

I guess that means they're going to film the 6th movie then.

Posted by thisikno Aug 5th 2006

they have to keep the original cast if they switched i would probably refuse to see it.

Posted by clairethekeeper Aug 5th 2006

Oh my god! That's my birthday! :) Nov 21 hell ya!

Posted by Ravvie Aug 6th 2006

I'm guessing this means that the final (*SOB*) book adaptation will be in 2009-2010 then? Wow, time flies. November 21st, 2008... hey, that's my brother's fourteenth birthday? *blinks* Whoa.+

Posted by TDeSou Aug 6th 2006

I live in Melbourne Australia and you know that december Boys movie?? It's starring Daniel Radcliffe, well, I just hope that we give you Americans December Boys late, because you've given us and continuously give us the Harry Potter movies late. Btw - just watched V fo Vendetta and Flight 93 - they were awesome!!!!! Except that flight 93 is really sad :(

Posted by abi Aug 6th 2006

One word : SQUEE

Posted by GeorgeusGirl Aug 6th 2006

TDeSou, I just want to remind you that we don't continuously give you movies late. Sometimes the movie producers do, yes, but the way you stated your statement made it sound like we the people vote to be like, "Don't give the Austrainlians (I know that's spelled wrong) the movie a year later!! No, we have no say. But Flight 93 and V for Vendetta aren't even out on DVD yet. They just got out of theatres. So your not too far behind. Ohh, and don't worry, not too many good movies are coming out soon. :[

Posted by Grey Aug 6th 2006

TDeSou, an eye for an eye hu? Although Harry Potter is a considerably bigger eye than December Boys. But then again you guys get plenty of good films that never reach our theaters.
