id love to play it but my computer wont download it for some reason.

Posted by loony4luna Jun 24th 2009

Haha, after stupidly trying to go in through a different way than UK for several minutes, I also learned my computer won't download it. D: I'll try again later.

Posted by Nirvana89 Jun 24th 2009

I was able to download it the second time. It's 595 MB. TC.

Have been dwnloading it .. looks good

Posted by twihphg Jun 24th 2009

I keep trying to download it but it says there is a server error.

Posted by iwantorlando05 Jun 24th 2009

SO AWESOME!!!! I've already pre-ordered my copy of the game! :D

Posted by Zigggy Jun 24th 2009

is it the same one from IGN?

Posted by SnivillusSev Jun 24th 2009

Sweet. I'll try this out in a bit. I'm not preordering this though cause i dont want to play it before i've seen the film. If it was anything like the last game, it'll completely spoil the move.

Posted by SnivillusSev Jun 24th 2009

or even: it'll completely spoil the movie.

Just a note, you MUST choose "UK" when presented with the language option, or the download option won't appear. The site seems to be experiencing a LOT of traffic, so it probably won't download when you first try. Keep trying every couple of minutes, I got in eventually-unfortunately, my internet died mid-download, so here we go again. xD Does anybody know if this can be downloaded from any other site? It might be up on mirrors now...

For those considering to try the demo, here's a quick review: I found it very disappointing. There's no preview of the storytelling mode, so you don't need to worry about spoilers. It simply showcases the dueling and flying modes, and both are overly simplistic and will get you bored in ten minutes. I don't see many improvements from the earlier games. Dueling consists of just casting two offensive spells and dodging incoming attacks. Flying on a broomstick gets you on a preset flight pattern where you need to fly into colored stars in order to fetch the Snitch. There's no real freedom of controlling your direction and you'll be bumping alot due to the camera shifting alot. So those expecting real Quidditch, stay far. Seems to me it's yet another lazy attempt to make more money over the film's release, instead of an intelligent and creative use of the franchise. No surprises there.

I should also toss in that: The little bits of dialogue included are very poorly written. Not only the lines are completely childish (which no longer works for the later installments of the series), they're also very out of character. Friends flattering "the amazing Harry Potter" for his outstanding sorcery skills and "having the honor to see him fight", while Harry proudly bows in return feels completely outworldly for anyone who read the books. Apparently the designers didn't.

I preordered mine from gamestop in early March, this game is gonna be awesome.

i HAVE TO AGREE WITH RalphDamiani ... tHE hARRY Potter Video Games aren't THAT GOOD AT ALL they're tooo simplistic and childish... Only HArry Potter: Quidditch World Cup was the best, most realest sport feel to the franchise.. I'm NOT buying this game.. here's hoping that Deathly Hallows: The Videogame will be better and more Lord of the Rings-like.. otherwise i'll just buy the LEgo version of the game next year, which will be much BETTER.

Yay! It finally worked!

Posted by digitel_anime_fan Jun 24th 2009

Finally got the download to work, I've only tried the dueling club so far, didn't have time to try the quidditch. How the heck do you AIM? You can't SEE your mouse, so...ya. I also didn't get expeliarmus at first, as I was CLICKING and drawing a circle, rather than just a circle. Ugh. Anyway, the duels were kinda fun, but felt a little...stiff? Something, the movements weren't very fluid, anyway. I HOPE that we get access to more spells as we play through the game...

I'm not from the UK, I'm from the US and I got my own demo. Here's the link: http://boards.ign.com/har ry_potter/b5827/181657687 /p1/ The post should be the first one, there's that allows you to download it. I've already played it, but I got bored of it. It's just Quidditch and Dueling. Have fun!

Posted by magicalmugglex Jun 24th 2009

*there's a link that allows you to download it. (you have to remove the spaces to allow the link to work).

Posted by digitel_anime_fan Jun 24th 2009

Finally got a chance to play the flying portion. Honestly, its pretty boring. Dueling was definatly at least entertaining! I'm having second thoughts about buying this game...

Posted by Mike7Snape Jun 24th 2009

I'm waiting for the ps3 demo lol

Posted by AliciaJonae05 Jun 25th 2009

I know it's called a demo for a reason, but shouldn't we be aloud to play at least more than just quidditch and dueling club? Kinda pointless to download the game for just a few minutes of flying and wand movement time, if you ask me. Might as well just wait for the game to come out to enjoy more of the game. . .

Posted by TimeTurnerBoi_DDNT Jun 25th 2009

Im in the prcess of downloading it, im quite excited, yay.

Posted by TimeTurnerBoi_DDNT Jun 25th 2009

If some of you aren't able to download it from the EA page itself, don't panic. Copy the URL at the top and open a new window and paste it on the search bar and press search. It worked for me... If it doesn't work for you, well I dunno what to say then, LOL
