Im not buying it. Ill probably buy like a track or two from iTunes, but not the whole score because I am sure it doesnt compare to John Williams first three scores. I dont have the full GoF and OotP soundtracks, and I dont plan on buying this fudge shitty crap they call a score.

As much as I agree with ^MrPoe, Im going to stay a devoted fan. The music is one aspect of all the movies I enjoy the most. Its about time they release some more bonus content. If I believe, the last time we got bonus content was with the Prisoner of Azkaban soundtrack.

Phrozen_Sky: Thanks for agreeing with me, but staying a devoted fan doesnt mean wasting money on anything Harry Potter. Im sure youre a devoted fan, and I belive that I am too. But we mustnt go blind in fandom. We have to say the truth, I might buy it if reviews are good, and after hearing some longer sound clips. The 14 sec clips were very dissapointing, nothing spine tingling like PoA. Even the opeing track of GoF was hair raising when the theme comes in towards the end of the song (the part where we see the logo in the film). But the rest of the album was waste, so I didnt buy it. The OotP sountrack was okay, no hiar raising tracks but nothing was bad either. WB, bring Williams back or get a better composer like James Newton Howard, David Arnold, Michael Giacchino, or even Hans Zimmer would be able to make a powerful sountrack with his drums. Listen to the Dark Knight score, nothing that you can call themes but sound, the sound does it all. I dont study music or know how to read music, but I sure know good music when I hear it...

Wow i might buy it because what ive heard from the trailers and previews the music sounds awesome.

My daughter gave me the OOTP sound track for Fathers day and I am sorry to say I dont care for it much. There are perhaps three tracks that are interesting. Dumbledores Army I like. It sounds something like John Adams meets John Williams. But overall Hooper has no gift for melody. It is mostly forgettable background music.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-06-24 14:00:17

Wow Hooper really does "garyvc"!! Have you listened to the Sirius Deception!!! The most epic Harry Potter melody is in that when they are flying the thestrals!! It was way different then the others but because of its variety, it made every song interesting and enjoyable. Im freaking out about this soundtrack less then 3 weeks! Itunes releases it at like 9 oclock monday because of the east coast!! I will probably buy it there, then go buy the hardcover!!!

GOD! ITS LIKE EVERYWHERE "MRPOE" WRITES IS SOMETHING NEGATIVE AND MISERABLE!! LOL

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-06-24 15:52:03

not buying it,......... until after I see the movie.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-06-24 17:02:06

Sweet, I cant wait to get it. I will go and buy it when I go see the movie on the 15th.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-06-24 17:26:52

Have you listened to the Sirius Deception!!! Yes. It has about 20 seconds of melody. The rest is simply rising and falling phrases and repetition like much of the music of John Adams (see the Chairman Dances from Nixon in China). Dramatic perhaps, but it is just background music. Can you hum it? No.

I think that is sooo cool... I think that the music in the movies is even more powerful than the movie itself......... I would rather listen to the soundtrack than watch the movies any day. the songs bring out the emotion of the movie....I am soooooooooooooooooo excited and will be the first in line to buy it

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-06-24 22:14:25

Yeah Umbridge, Fireworks, Room of Requirements, Ministry of Magic, Flight of the Order of Phoenix, and Loved Ones and Leaving are not just rising and falling phrases, or just back ground music. Maybe some of the others, but not all of it!!!

The soundtrack already appears to be in the VZW Tones Deluxe store in verizon phones, for ringtones and ringbacks for cell phones. I havent bothered to listen, but they all have track names related to HP:HBP.

I also agree with mrpoe, I dont think my dispute will ever end over john williams returning, i really would LOVEEE him to come back and do the final in ther series!!! However, I am a devoted fan of the music of Harry Potter, and i will be buying the soundtrack... but yes mrpoe, they really cant call that shitty crap a score :P lol

I loved what I heard on the preview. I am bummed that the sound track wont be out in time for my birthday; it was one of two things I asked for, but I will have it within the month of its release, nonetheless... One thing I was confused about, the piece entitled "Ginny" sounds just like "Hedwigs theme" go figure?
