Goblet of Fire DVD wins at DVD awards
B1 Media, the company which produced the Goblet of Fire DVD, has won for "Major Technical - Best Menu Design" at the 9th annual DVD Awards.

Producer John Pohl commented, "We're honored that this award recognized the elaborate and expressive 3D achievement and strong sense of design the menus displayed. The artistic excellence of these menus contributed to an incredible DVD experience and was a result of the sacrifice that our 3D, compositing, animation and design teams made."

Awesomeness. I'm planning on watching that DVD again for the 234987324th time...

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

Posted by charmed_heart25 Aug 11th 2006

Nice! Ohkayy, I'm kinda disappointed it's just the Best Menu, but CONGRATULATIONS! I hope the DVD gets more awards!!

Posted by daydayhp Aug 11th 2006

Wow, I'm only the second to comment. That's never happened before! Congrats to GOF for winning and congrats to me for *almost* being the first to comment for once, lol. *pat on the back* I may watch the movie again to celebrate. :)

congrats

Posted by Mirdala Aug 11th 2006

I am glad the DVD won an award, but I thought the menu design was cheap looking.

Posted by kimchee Aug 11th 2006

wahooooo

Posted by Ilovedanielradcliffe Aug 11th 2006

I was actually second (no I know I am not now but I was *see above*) aahaha FINALLY. Good job GOF I hope they can win another award. I also thought the DVD menu was a bit "Philosophers Stone" like. Pretty corny and childish. But I'll take it gladly.

Posted by MIKEF285 Aug 11th 2006

Sorry i just had to put that in.

Posted by christianaeg Aug 11th 2006

hey that's kinda cool... it floats my boat when GoF wins something....

Posted by albusisonholiday Aug 11th 2006

Woot! First ten...it deserved more than best menu, though...

Posted by potterchick Aug 11th 2006

yay! top 20! congrats

Posted by snidgetseeker Aug 11th 2006

That's awesome, however, I thought that they actually skimped on the GOF DVD menu and extras. The graphics to me were a little too rushed looking. Oh well, also, why doesn't the WB actually put really long behind-the-scenes videos on the DVDs instead of 3 minute videos?

Posted by D1gg0ry Aug 11th 2006

Ummm...good job on the award, but I find that I watch the movie more than the menu. ~TOP 20~

Posted by HarrylurvesGinny Aug 11th 2006

YEA! congrats GOF!!!

Posted by thegradytrain Aug 11th 2006

i thought the menu was annoying

Posted by Leoseeker09 Aug 11th 2006

Thats right..best DVD out there right now.The extras could not have been better.

Posted by PoTtErfanatic4 Aug 11th 2006

it only won the best menu!?!?that stinks.....its way better than that

Posted by MuggleMage Aug 11th 2006

I haven't even seen the menu cuz I have never watched my DVD (which I've had since it came out). sad isn't it?

Posted by inomoreabouthpthnu Aug 11th 2006

that is sooo awesome!!!!!!! i love the fourth movie!!!!!!!!!! but the the third will always be my fave...but i have a feeling the 5th movie will soon be replacing that..except when sirius dies...i wont be able to watch that..*sniffle*

Posted by Emu Aug 11th 2006

that's interesting, cuz i thought the menu was boring and cheap looking.

Posted by DecemberDrops Aug 11th 2006

I never really paid attention to the DVD; just the film.

Posted by StarryEyes Aug 11th 2006

GO GoF! That said, does anyone know why the GoF special edition was only released in widescreen? The full-screen people shouldn't be left out of the special features just because we don't have wide-screen TVs. I know there was a full-screen version of the single DVD release, but it doesn't seem fair. The other DVDs were released both in wide- and full-screen, and both had the special features.

Posted by inomoreabouthpthnu Aug 11th 2006

I really dont know Starry..hmmm i hate widescreen..because it doesnt show the whole screen..yea lol..it isnt fair is it?

Posted by skates Aug 11th 2006

Awesome. All the hard workers of Hp are truly incredible. They do spectacular jobs every film, as we see every hp movie. My fav animation scene in GOf was definetely the dragon, I held my breath the entire time, it was truly spectacular.

Posted by ilovhp Aug 11th 2006

horay

Posted by csapc Aug 11th 2006

the menu kinda was too animated for my taste but im glad the movie won something...but it probabley couldve won something better but everyone pobabley voted for something sad with a dying puppy in the upper categories.

Posted by Rommel Aug 11th 2006

COOLNESS!!!!I've already seen the DVD 34564868685 times.ITS GREAT!!!

Posted by lilyhpfan23 Aug 11th 2006

Posted by inomoreabouthpthnu Aug 11th 2006

haha my thoughts exactly csapc XD..lol...i thought the graphics were hella tight..they shoulda won something for the graphics

Posted by Mrs_Finnegan Aug 11th 2006

that's good. it was a great movie...could have been better. Still, I loved it.

Posted by potterfan22 Aug 11th 2006

Cool! I really liked the menu design. I've seen the 'meet the champions' thing like one thousand times cuz i think it's kinda funny. :D

Posted by potterfan22 Aug 11th 2006

And by the way, has anyone seen that part where Tom Felton and Daniel Radcliffe are doing that little kung fu thing? that part's hilarious. (during the malfoy=ferret scene when they're sposed to be fighting, they do a karate type thing. hehehe) it's on one of the extras, but i dunno exactly which one...hmmm

Posted by sirusstar Aug 11th 2006

congrats GOF!!!!

Posted by Vail329 Aug 12th 2006

My DVD doesnt even have special features or any bonus stuff. Its just the movie. it doesnt even have the trailer(s). I cant find the GOOD Goblet o fire dvd anywhere. I hate it. Somebody help me.

Posted by potterfan22 Aug 12th 2006

vail329, sorry if this doesn't help at all, but you could always order it online or something. the one i have is a two disc one that says special features, and it's really cool. it's silver and it's widescreen....if that helps at all. anyways, good luck finding it!!! :D

Posted by flibbertigibbit Aug 12th 2006

i thought the menu was really overdone.

Posted by Weazleby Aug 12th 2006

I didn't think the menu was all that great, but the movie was fantastic. I thought it would get way more awards than it's up for, but still, congrats GoF

Posted by nick444 Aug 12th 2006

cool

Posted by Pinkslips Aug 12th 2006

They damn right deserve it, too!

Posted by mugglehp Aug 12th 2006

*Princess Luna* wow congratulations and well done!!!!!!!!! Goblet of Fire rock my socks! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! love y'all lots like jelly tots and vodka shots Natasha x

Posted by TherealMrsRadcliffe Aug 12th 2006

it deserves to win more awards it is the coolest DVD ever!! well done GOF!!!!!!

Posted by Grey Aug 12th 2006

They shouldn't have won anything for the nasty trick they played with those DVD's. You had to get the special edition to get the behind the sense stuff, and they hid the special editions away. So now I have 2 HP4 dvd's because I was tricked into buying the one without the behind the sense first. That made me really mad. As if I have an extra $21 to be throwing away. Like Melissa Anelli (or someone) said "they should treat the fans better than that. they know what the fans want." So that has been my rant about the HP4 DVD.

Posted by JKrowlingismyIDLE Aug 12th 2006

I was quite angry because I wanted the special edition DVD, and it wasn't at any store near me. But I think that it is great that it one an award. JK Rowling writes amazing books that turn into great movies. Well Done.

Posted by soulmeetsbody Aug 12th 2006

wo0t! go GOF!

Posted by Dancer_1021 Aug 15th 2006
