Dan Naked.... interesting - I guess I won't be telling my Dan-Obsessed friend this.... though if she reads the paper she would already know... But this is an Aussie Paper, right? then isn't it called the Sun Herald?

I know that feeling, "terrifed but excited", definitely. He must see Harry differently after acting his part; he must feel a fondness for it.

As for Dan doing the nude.......good luck. It would be really hard to do that on a stage, no matter how good an actor may be. It does show that he is growing up as a person and actor. Even if it may affect how some HP fans look at him, it will help his career. I mean, after all the HP movies are finished he will move on to play other characters. Later on he will be known for characters besides Harry Potter. I will always look at him as Harry Potter but, hey, I'm not the only one who follows him. One last thing, cause hey I can't help it, I'm a kid.... HE BETTER PLAY HARRY IN FILMS 6 AND 7. DAN'S PLAYED HIM SINCE THE FIRST MOVIE AND TO HAVE SOME OTHER PERSON AS HP WOULD BE SO WRONG!!!

Good for Dan i figured he play it nude. Its not like his character is nude the entire play. He is right the character was meant to be nude and when they don’t have them nude it takes away from it IMO because that’s how the script writer wanted it to be

Hmmmmm, Dan is growing like a real actor now. He cares the scripts a lot. "If it has a good script it will be silly to turn it (HP6) down". "It's in the script so I have to do it". Well that's good. He can't always wear the wizard robes and be a hearthrob which starts since he was 11. He has to be a serious actor if he wants to remain in this industry. And as for whether he's naked or not, I don't care, only if he do a good Alan (forgot the surname, sorry...)

as i said before i love dan so much but i completely agree with JL_hpfan on all points. it's good dan is playing a new role and as for the nudity, it is a sign he is growing up. i also will always know him as Harry Potter, but doing other parts will deff help his career and i love dan so good for him. and he defffffff better play Harry in the last 2 films or it just wouldn't be right. although it is probably almost impossible i hope all of the characters continue their roles, it just wouldn't be the same. i'll obv still see the movies cause i love HP but i can't deny i will be very disappointed. :/

I am shocked. I totally thought that WB would not let him do it to protect his "innocent school boy image" for Harry Potter. But I am glad that he is doing the nude parts in the play since I think it is an important part of the play. I have seen some movies, mostly foreign films, where nude scenes are important part or turning point in the story. I really happy when actors or actresses take movies (or plays) with nude scenes because it means they are brave enough to do something outside the norm for acting. If I was an actress (which I would love to be but I would have the most terrible time remembering my lines), I would have no problem being nude if a really good strory called for it. I would like to point out that I am a 19 year old girl but I am not one these other girls that are saying "OMG...He's going to be naked...I can't wait for the play so I can seem him". So I personally would like to ask some of you to quit saying that all young fan girl are immature little pervs because I am not.

Acctually I'm really impressed with how mature people are being. I expected for there to be nothing but jokes about Mr. Naked Squater Potter and his summer holliday job. It's acctually not all that big of a deal but we've been together so long with him, all these years, that it can't help but be a little bit funny. Wow. It amazes me how immature some people can be. All of these people that are freaking out about Dan being naked, need to calm down, and grow up! I applaud Dan for taking such a different role. I wish him luck in whatever he does. He is such a good actor. I hope he can stay with us for the rest of the Harry Potter movies. I don't think I would even like the movies without him. This decision of him to play the part nude could be really good or really bad depends on the point of view. I personally think that we should be standing up and take our hat off for Dan he is maturing quite nicely both emotionally and professionally. I wish him the best. It's a good thing about December Boy's hope the movie get's release soon. Movies 6 and 7 won't be the same if Dan don't take the part he has give live for the last 6 years to Harry Potter and it would be really sad to see a different actor play the part.

I've never heard about this play before, but I read a brief summary and it sounds REALLY interesting. I wish I could see it! I think it's great for Daniel Radcliffe that he's taking his career seriously enough to go nude. What is this bs about him possibly not playing Harry in the last movie- I doubt he would turn it down, but if he does, there's really no point in bothering to make the 7th book into a film!!

So, Dan's gonna show the world his magic wand. ;) Sorry, couldn't resist. As for those of you talking about 'legal age', it's not really a matter of 'age'. Actors of ALL ages can and have performed nude scenes in film and on stage. It just can't be anything that falls into the category of pornographic. Brooke Shields performed her first nude scene(s) at the age of 12 years old and showed pretty much everything (more than once). So it's more about the context of the nudity that makes it legal/illegal than it is the age of the actor him/herself.

First of all, Equus is performed all the time without full nudity. Anyone who knows anything about the play knows that. I believe the original version calls for the nudity to be "in silhouette" which means that the audience doesn't actually see anything from the waist down because of the dark lighting. Dan could do this in a flesh colored thong and no one would know the difference. The play has been done in a more exhibitionist fashion with actual full nudity but this is certainly not the way it's always or even normally done. I think Dan may be trying to talk big in order to get people into the theatre but I don't think that's very respectful. I don't like it when teen actors try to push the limits in trying to be "grown up." True adults don't resort to immature tactics to try to change their image. He's trying to draw attention to himself, that's for sure.

Stitch The original play that won a Tony Award, had nudity in two scenes, one that can be almost unnoticed and the other one was the frontal nude scene. I think is you that doesn't know anything about this play, it is also sad that you don't like Dan and try to make and absurd comment about him, the kid is the most responsible young actor and very professional and someone who has grown up loving theater thanks to his parents, I think is funny how you fail to put him down!

TinaL, I have studied this play in college and seen it twice without full nudity. I am not a teenager. I also know that just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. Understanding that is the mark of adulthood. I don't dislike Dan at all. I have always had very much respect for him but I don't agree with this decision. That doesn't mean I don't like him but I am disappointed with his choice.

Stitch, he likes the play, he wants to do theatre, he will work with a Tony award winner actor, and a brilliant director. I don't think this is about "you can do something doesn't mean you should", I think it's about, he wants to do it, then he should do it. Of course, not everyone has to agree with him, but I think everyone has to agree that he has to do what he wants, it's his life. I prefer to see him playing in a brilliant play like Equus, such a great role like Alan Strang, than seeing him in one of those stupid Hollywood teen movies, or shooting and killing half the world in an action movie. :)

Ha ha ha! I knew that Daniel Radcliffe, actor extraodinaire, would ultimately have to resort to pornography to keep himself alive. He may be the worst actor alive, but at least he's got brains enough to realise that porn is the only way out for him. Let me inform you, Angelina Jolie has been nude in some movies and she was chosen an UNICEF and UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, Nicole Kidman has appeared nude in theatre and movies and she is an UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador too.
