Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 13:56:14

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 13:57:59

Yay! I hope DH gets to #1! I cant wait for the day when there are NO Twilight books on the top 10 best sellers.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 14:07:50

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 14:07:53

Um, no one should read Glenn Beck... or Twilight (except maybe tweenage girls).... Go Deathly Hallows, flatten everything in your path!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 14:46:39

Go Deathly Hallows!!! I really want to read the Time Travelers Wife, the movie looks so good. Its funny how movies influence this list because that and my sisters keeper is on there which everyone should read because it is an amazing book.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 14:57:32

Thats nice but it would be better if DH was first and Twilight was somewhere near the bottom.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 15:33:51

Dark Mark there are more new moons sold right now because the movie is being advertised and will come out soon.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 16:18:23

TAKE THAT TWILIGHT! GO POTTER!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 16:20:15

thats awesome! but ive never heard of the book at number 1. i guess the only reason DH isnt No.1 is bcuz a lot of people already own it! another thing i dont quie understand is why Twilight is even on there! i mean come on! its not even that great of a book. ESPECIALLY NEW MOON! come on people, lets make No.1 and go out and buy DH in paper back!!!!! GO!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 16:27:29

How could a compilation of a fascists ramblings out-sell Harry Potter? What a sad world we live in.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 16:27:39

I LOVE GLENN BECK AND HARRY POTTER!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 16:29:19

O and another thing, I totally disagree with GernBagshot bcuz i am a tweenage girl and I really REALLY HATE twilight. so actually NO ONE should read twilight at all.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 16:35:05

Good to hear that HP beat out Twilight, I cant wait for those books to fall off the charts! UGH! Unfortunately because I only collect hard cover book, I wont be buying the DH books. I am definitely planning on reading the Glen Beck book! Yay for Glen and Harry Potter!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 17:37:46

Ahhh yay! HP is back on the Best Seller List! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 18:24:37

Check out this hilarious riff on Harry Potter and the terrible dangers he poses to children and goats! http://www.path eos.com/Resources/Additio nal-Resources/Harry-Potte r-Waldo-and-Jesus.html Pretty funny.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 18:25:27

@DarkMark5 New Moon probably has more sales than Twilight because the movie is about to come out....you guys have probably experienced the Harry Potter fans that just buy the book right before the movie, and I think thats whats happening now. That, and they have a new cover for the book with the movie promo poster out now....so fans might want a new one for that reason as well. And dont hate on me, I love Harry Potter. Mucho. Have a MuggleCast t-shirt as well as all of my HP gear. And even Andrew Sims runs a Twilight fansite. So its possible, people. :) And you cant really compare them, one is about a whole world with dozens of different plot lines, and the other is an obsessively detailed book about only a handful of people. Very different.

Im so happy for DH, but Im also excited for thw Twilight saga, as well. I know people seem to think that you cant like both of them but I definitely do, so congrats to both of them!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 20:15:12

YAY! When I bought my copy yesterday I didnt know that it had just come out on paperback and that it was in contention to be a NYTimes bestseller and all that. I just bought it because I didnt want to carry around my hardcover version around on vacation - I feel good now!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 20:59:58

Hopefully DH will get to the top.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 22:29:27

Well, at least Harry Potter and The Time Travelers Wife are above all of the Twilight books. I mean, theyre not BAD per se, but Breaking Dawn makes it seem as if reading the rest of the series before it was a waste of time. And the main characters have no personality. Concerning love stories, TTTW is a lot better, as for adventure books, HP is. Best of Meyers works so far: The Host.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 22:51:09

just goes to show that most hp fans want the better and higher qualtiy hardcover...unlike most twilight fans who would rather have paperback hahah..but im glad that hp is 2nd!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-07-31 23:05:57

I have to admit it made me angry to see twilight on here. I guess im just a total twilight hater (ive read all the books) :( at least deathly hollows is above it! oh & i agree with carpediem1991. so true :) time travelers wife was such a good romance i cant wait for the movie!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-01 00:27:13

thank god its waaaaaaaaaaaay past the twilight series.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-01 00:28:00

Glenn Beck knows what hes talking about. Twilight, on the other hand, sucks. Also, his book came out more recently than Deathly Hallows, so harry potter still rocks this list.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-01 01:40:09

Yes !!! We beated Twilight...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-01 06:22:12

haha, suck it twilight :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-01 09:17:10

oh my!hp && twilight are both good!!but hp is more interesting.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-01 09:24:15

BTW:why is it new moon is #4??its a bit boring.it should be breaking dawn or eclipse.prr........gosh! i really want the hp books!but theyre all in high price.[frowns]

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-01 10:36:31

stupidlamb - I dont understand why people say you cant like bother either. You can like whatever you want to like. Personally, I dont like Twlight lol. Not because its "Harry Potters enemy" but because I find it a bit teenage-girl/amateurish. If its Vampires and romance people want, there are so many better things out there and for me, Twlight just doesnt do anything. But its silly that people say youre not allowed to like both. They used to say that about The Lord of the Rings - Im not keen on the books, but they are my all-time favourite films!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-01 11:21:19

The Deathly Hallows is a great book! It should be on the best selling list! :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-01 11:38:13

How could it not be on the best seller list? One of the finest books ever written.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-01 11:39:59

YAY!!!!! Hp and the Deathly Hallows is no. 2!!!!! :D But it must become no.1! And so, since Im not American (Im South African), I urge all you American HP fans to go out there and buy Deathly Hallows!!!!!!!!:P (not necessarily paper back cause I got the hard cover on the night DH came out)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-01 14:23:54

How can "Deathly Hallows" be number two behind Glenn Beck, of all people? Well, we Americans are not always known for our taste!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-01 15:16:53

Yes! I loved Harry Potter first, but I like to think that Harry inspired (at least a little) my interests in politics and always working for what you know is right, which is an offshoot for my love for Glenn Beck. I agree, everyone should read his version of Common Sense, as what he says in there is not partisan and is just about what is right and wrong in todays society and government. So, in a sense, Harry and Glenns books have similar messages. However, everyone should also go get the paperback of DH, as it is pretty nice. Its sitting on my bookshelf right now completing my collection.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-01 17:05:30

Glenn Beck.. ew. And at the whole Twilight.. just wow, I am so ashamed of this country. Potter FTW

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-01 17:56:41

Yay!!!Go DH!!! btw, im also extremely happy for the Twilight saga. Im also very disappointed, though. I am 13 years old and I adore Twilight as well as Harry Potter. And tweenage girls are not the only ones that like Twilight. I know moms, dads, brothers, people in their 60s, that have read and love Twilight. As a fellow fan of both HP and Twilight it makes me so frustrated to come to this site and see all those disrespectful comments, not just about Twilight, but also about other books, like Gleen Beck. Ive never read that book but Im sure its number 1 because it earned it. Twilight fan sites actually respect HPs popularity and admit their love for both franchises. Im not trying to offend anyone, Im just trying to state my opinion. Really, its such a shame.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-01 19:32:22

woo hoo! im glad that hp is back on the top 10 bestseller list! my world is finally right again! im a fan of twilight too, but its nice to see that harry potter IS above twilight. :) love twilight, LOVE harry potter about twenty times more. :D hooray!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-02 02:15:46

Who the heck is Glenn Beck? Ive never heard of him and I considered myself a well informed adult. I have 2 copies of DH. One paperback & one hardback. And Im thinking of getting another paperback so I can annotate it for my future grand children because of course their mother will want to be sure they read all the classics. (Okay, I admit to being obsessed with all things HP!)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-02 05:19:38

daisyalice- I understand what you mean. Although Twilight was more of a phase for me (Ive read all the books; disappointed by BD), its obvious that the HP fans of today are just immature. As an aspiring writer, I can only tip my hat to JK and Meyer, as theyve reached a place where I hope to one day be. A lot of HP fans just blast Meyer, rather than show some respect for someone who tried hard. I can bet that if this same news post was on a Twilight site, thered be a different response, apart from a stray troll that would come to shout about how much Twilight sucks compared to HP.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-02 12:24:54

Off to but DH paperback....anyway go HP!!! Yay! Its beating Twilight(of course). I cant wait for the day when twilight drops off the list. Its totally just a fad. Twilight will be over soon.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-02 15:51:59

Ew. Glen Beck is a squib and a decepticon.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-02 20:56:17

Its nice to see that HP is up there again. With the Twilight movies being made and the group at ComicCon it does not surprise me that it remains in the top ten. Glenn Becks book is on top because of the political issues going on here in the US and hes a good talker. Im not surprised to see his book on top.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-02 22:18:11

Glenn Beck is number one?.....this is the part where I loose faith in America.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-03 11:22:58

Im so use to Harry Potter fans hating on Twilight its so sad. I hate seeing posts up here that have to do with Twilight because the immature fans on here attack it all the time. GET OVER IT PEOPLE LOVE AND ADORE TWILIGHT AND IM ONE OF THEM. And to be honest it has a special part in my heart compared to the Potter books. Yes I love the Potter ones but I prefer the Twilight ones.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-08-10 05:07:35

I dont understand this invisible competition between Harry Potter and Twilight. Its very one sided and extremely immature, I NEVER see Twilight fans bashing Harry Potter for beating it at something. But you go on this website, and its just on the top list yeah big whoop its been on there for almost 2years. It hasnt dropped, sorry. So I dont understand the disrespectful comments, when the Twilight fans have nothing against Harry Potter fans. In fact, most of them love both series. So suck it up, and deal. People can read other books, sorry Harry Potter isnt always on the Top 10 any more. Done.
