As many tabloid sites have reported, Emma Watson arrived at Brown University a few days ago to begin orientation for her freshman year.
We didn't want to post the news because it was an invasion of privacy, but today Emma updated her official website to clear up the rumors and confirm she is indeed attending Brown:
"I know, according to the papers I was definitely attending both Columbia and Yale but I've finally arrived at Brown University and while I wish that I could be in three places at once I wouldn't believe everything you read! I arrived [last] Tuesday and I'm having the most amazing time. I'm still so excited to be here. I've already met so many incredible people. I'm over my jet lag and now I just want classes to start!!"

Lmao @ SilentBob...but I think its Awesome that shes excited for classes to start. lol. Thats such a Hermione thing. Im 3 weeks into classes and Im already sick of them. But I wish Emma the best. @Soup: IF that helicopter thing is true, Im sure it was so that Emma could get into the US quickly and undetected by the paparazzi. It clearly worked because shes been here two weeks and we didnt even know.

Arent they STILL making Deathly Hallows and they got like 6 months until they Completely finish making it.. and they havent even done the Infamous Battle of Hogawarts yet and Emma has to be there to play her part... but shes gonna start school already? I hope this doesnt interfere with the filming of the Deathly Hallows...I just hope they dont have to push the movie back.
And I wonder what her major is going to be...actually, Im wondering why shes going to college at all, since shes already a very successful actress. If she likes acting that much, why not just stick with it?

Emma said in one interview that she would likely be filming during his Christmas holidays. So, shes not done yet. Going to school is a matter of personal fulfilment and not letting this acting life rob her of the experiences that she wants to have. I believe her major is along the lines of liberal arts, or literature. School can be fun. If I had the money she has, I would be a professional student. Its great to have your mind work and be exposed to so much more than what is outside your door.

She must be done filming most of the scenes she is in.
+ the way Yates butchers these stories he will just replace her with Longbottom.
+ I am sure there will be some BS story that they could NOT do some scenes because Emma was at Brown.
So with Emma gone her role in HP7 a & b will be diminished oh well after the last two Potter movies by Yates. I am far from hopeful that that the last two [2] will be any better.
I wish Emma well @ Brown, you have to be very smart to go there.

yay, she chose brown! my sister went there and its such an amazing school. anyway, didnt they say she would film scenes during her school breaks? i think i read that somewhere. also, she said quite awhile ago that she was halfway done with filming.

thats really awesome of MuggleNet to respect her privacy and not bring it up until she herself brought it up. Thats the way things should be done, but unfortunately it would take a lot for other news sites and paparazzi to honor privacy like that. Best of luck at Brown Emma! College is really exciting, and to do it in another country is an adventure all in its own. I hope things go as normal as they can for her given her fame and the excitement people will have for seeing her there :)

Best of luck to her! I think there were a couple of interviews where she said she was going to be studying liberal arts.
On the website,its under news, and there Emma has cleared up that she did not arrive by helicopter.
I wonder what the classroom atmosphere is going to be like. I mean, having a class with Emma Watson! Thats such a surreal picture! I know its definitely her privacy but I would love to see how her first classes go. Brown should install some video cameras for us. ;) Kidding.
I think some people said something like "Shes already a successful actress, why does she want to go to school?" Maybe to, ehem, LEARN. She has said many atime how important school is to her. For once, we need to let Emma step out her Hermione role for a bit, and study liberal arts at BU just like any other person. For that is what she wants to do. *climbs off soapbox*

Emma Watson did NOT ride in Helicopter from her home! Helicopter cannot fly across the ocean like from london to America, duh! She was riding in Airplane! Get Over it!
Emmas Official website did not post the news update! I went over her official site and I dont see it! Whoever send it to Mugglenet is WRONG and so, its coming from her Interview on David Lettermans Show! Which is why I send a email to webmaster of Emmas official site and they have not post the update since August 10 DUH!

youre right HeRonfan...there was no local reporting here in RI about Emma arriving in a helicopter. In fact, the report that WAS mentioned was that Emma wasnt there at all. But obviously, that was before she arrived. The report was on freshmen orientation day. Coincidentally, there WAS an article in this past Sundays paper that was about Emma. I cut it out but I need to scan it in and then send it in. And im sure filming will continue without her. She may continue filming on winter break. I bet bet they did alot of her filming during the summer.

Its so awesome that she wrote such a long ems for us to read! I was wondering if she got there and all...i hope she continues to have a great experience and that being famous doesnt trump anything too much.
I SO admire her for stepping out and going to University like when shes so famous and in a different country even! She is quite like Hermione when it comes to school ;).
Could you imagine, i know! It would be surreel to have her in a class or see her on campus! Congrats!!
