Addressing the press last night after winning an Emmy for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in the HBO miniseries Into the Storm, actor Brendan Gleeson noted that he has just finished filming in his role as Mad-Eye Moody for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I. "I waved goodbye to him a week and a half ago. It was great fun, playing Mad-Eye was a hoot." Thanks to Snitch Seeker for the tip!

When I was watching the Emmys and he won I shouted,"MAD EYE MOODY!!"...luckily everyone watching them with me were also Harry Potter fans. But Im really excited Mad Eye is going to be in the movie!! But its sad that he dies in the first 20 minutes of the film...

they must be close to finishing because if emmas at school & basically all the movie is with her dan & rupert they must not be shooting trio stuff anymore. sadness!!

Wow, I hate he had to die, He wish he could have been in the battle of Hogwarts. But Mad-Eye will still play a good role in deathly hallows

Considering he beat my favorite actor in the category he won in, I can only be mildly happy for him. But I do look forward to seeing him on screen in Deathly Hallows and will likely weep a little when he dies. Constant Vigilence! Long live Moody!

citylove, Emma will be doing work over winter break. Im sure the trio stuff being done right now is Harry/Ron exclusive. Harry has numerous bits alone so Im sure theyre knocking those out, along with retrieving the sword.

Aww, he was great as Moody! I was never a huge fan of him but Ill probably cry at his big scene anyways.

He made a darn good Mad-Eye. RIP Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody.

Ah, good old Mad-Eye. Always been one of my favorite characters. Such a shame he had to die. :( He could have kicked some serious Death Eater butt in the Battle of Hogwarts. "CONSTANT VIGILANCE!" Ahh, it always makes me smile.... Its so sad the Brendan Gleeson is done with filming. I always thought he looked way wrong, but he captured the character very well.

I have a biology teacher that reminds me of him. Kind of a cynical, almost sick sense of humour, been through a lot, and I honestly, swear on PoA, expected him to yell CONSTANT VIGILANCE! on the first day.

Leaky posted this first. Well, at least we sort of know what parts they are doing. The seven potters scene must be done. I heard that they were just going to give the actors make up and wigs. They should just use Dan and film him doing the different things for everyone, that way it wont look as mad. theyre supposed to look exactly identical, not just sorta the same.

Thats good I really liked him a lot he is a very good actor

Im glad Mad-eye dies where he did in the book. It sets the tone for the rest of the story. He died a heros death. In all honesty I was sadder when Hedwig and Dobby died than any other characters.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-09-22 23:50:53

I know it sound very wrong to say Im glad that Mad-eye died in the way he did. He died figthing for something that he believe. Because Harry need all the people that show him something to believe for; they die the hero death. "Fighting for their believes and knowing that this is good."

he dies really quickly... but a great mad-eye

(Hand over heart) Mad-eye, we hardly knew ye. So sad to lose you, even though we knew it would happen.
