Happy 10th Birthday, MuggleNet!
Once upon a time, a 12-year-old kid was suffering from crushing boredom. He thought it would be fun to make a website. So he did. And at first, it completely sucked. Then he got really, really obsessed. He quickly found other obsessed fans -- and you know the rest! HarryPotter.com just wasn't giving us enough of what we wanted, so we took matters into our own hands: MuggleNet is a 10 year long project of collective success involving millions of passionate Harry Potter fans from every corner of the Earth. Every fan contributed in some way - whether it was posting news, submitting fan fics, or engaging in discussion on forums while we went delusional waiting for each book. WOW, has it been fun!
We'll be posting fun new features throughout the month looking back at the past 10 years, so stay tuned. Embarrassing baby photos of Andrew Sims are likely. T-shirts possible. Thank you, MuggleNetters, for your continued support!

WOW, EMERSON SPARTZ AND I ARE LIKE BLOOD BROTHERS! Ten years ago, in October 1999, a bored kid who couldn't stop Reading goosebumps and watch Spider-Man all day got dragged into Barnes and Noble by his parents. His Dad bargained with him that if he promises to read a book, that he can have a Spider-Man Video Game. Some lady introduced this Weird Dorky looking kid riding on a broomstick trying to catch something gold with wings for me to read.. it was the first Harry Potter book, and I didn't like the way it looked one bit! I thought it was going to be a STUPID book... so i bought it anyway just for the sake of the Spider-Man game... BOY WAS I WRONG ABOUT HARRY POTTER! It amazes me that I'm one of the FIRST kids in AMERICA to read the books when it came out in roughly a year, and i did it through Bargaining with my parents lol. Now I'm 20 and Harry Potter has changed my life! :) Thank God for that, and thanks for Emerson!

I'm seriously getting teary-eyed with nostalgia. I've been with you guys for about seven of those ten years, and this just reminds me of how thoroughly Harry Potter has changed my life. I can honestly say that without HP I would be an entirely different person.
I have been here 2 and half years. Started commenting in the news posts and made a full ton of friends. I got to meet in friends I made from this website. One from Italy and one from Pittsburgh. (I live in Michigan) I have also spoken to three others (California, Canada and Lebanon) on the phone. While the Cheesecakians no longer post on here, we are still together and have to thank MN for it all. HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND CONGRATS!!!

i think i discovered MuggleNet around late 2000....really started visiting daily from 2003,after book 5 came out.....it's been really fun....THANK YOU EMERSON!!!!!

YAY! Happy birthday mugglenet! I love this place, it's been my homepage for years! The early mugglenet page is funny, "A question mark denotes that either I'm not sure what the name is, or I do not know at all". xD Awesome. I won't get too mushy, but this website has really meant a lot to my life.

I've only been a huge MuggleNet fan since 2007, and I can't believe I never really looked at fansites till then! I can't tell what an improvement it was! All the laughs and heartwarming stories have made everything great! It always cheers me up! It's amazing what you guys have done here. MuggleNet is an amazing contribution to the Harry Potter fandom! I found it hysterical that the link for fun leads to the Wall of Shame -- it proves how awesome the world is. Oh and the layout is amazing. I like breast cancer awareness ribbon. Harry Potter fans contributing to world in MANY ways.

Ah, as a birthday gift you get a Patented "dark_lordess" speech riddled with several HP references. Once, long ago (about 2 years ago), My grand parents gave me HBP and DH as Christmas presents. ("Gee, thanks grandma...) But lo-and-behold for school I had to read a novel. Seven months ago(Yes, 7!!! woo, what luck MN's b-day in the 7th mo. of my potter obsession!) I picked up HbP and read the whole series in two weeks. In five months I had read the series 6 times, wrote several fanfics, reviewed thirty times as much, saw all 5 movies(at the time), and discovered mugglenet. Thank you all. Happy 10th Birthday! I want to say thank you SOOOO much to all of the people who contribute and work on this website. It was and still is my lifeline to HP and my trusted source for the past 6 years. I wouldn't be the Potter fan I am today without MuggleNet or MuggleCast. Love you guys! :)

WOW!!! Ten years!! I discovered Mugglenet in 10th grade when I was writing a Harry Potter article for the school newspaper. That was 6 years ago and I'm still a regular visitor!
