But one day I was walking through a store and they were showing one of these HP movies and I figured I would rent the movies just to see what all the hype was about... and I was hooked.

WOW!!!! Happy Birthday Mugglenet and congrats Emerson for this great website. I have been coming here for about 5 years and was so happy to find out about the many other obsessed people in the world. Harry Potter has changed my life since I started reading at age 9 and Mugglenet has helped me stay excited through waiting for book releases and especially now when there is only two movies left to wait for. I am proud to say that I have been with Mugglenet since I was about ten years old- 6 years ago. I was searching for Harry Potter fansites and the ones that I had come accross jusy didn't seem sufficient enough. It was then that I stumbled onto Mugglenet. I have not been able to litreally go a day with visiting this site and catching up on the Potter news. Thanks Mugglenet for being a great site that none of the other fansites can top! I discovered mugglenet because i was looking up some harry potter news! i had loved the books long before i discovered mugglenet, but i couldn't believe how many other people out there were just as obsessed as i was! mugglenet has been my homepage ever since, i love mugglecast and can't believe its been 10 years!!! Happy Birthday Mugglenet! I've been coming on this site for about 2 and 1/2 years. I first found out about Harry Potter when i was seven. My second grade teacher read a chapter of it every day at story time and after that I begged my mom to read the other books to me. She read a few of the other ones but for some reason I couldn't pay attention, so she stopped, although I was a huge fan of the movies. So about five years later when I was in the seventh grade my grandmother bought me Ootp for Christmas, but I just put it under my bed. Then HBP came out. She bought it for me the day it was released because she thought I wanted it. I felt bad that I didn't read the fifth or sixth book, so I decided to read them and after that I got hooked. That was a few years ago though. Now im almost 17 years old and I don't know what I would do if my Nana hadn't got me those books. I should probably thank her for it, but most of all, I should thank mugglenet for creating this amazing website. THANK YOU EMERSON!!

I honestly can't remember when I started following Mugglenet, but I think it was about when I discovered the books when GOF came out, and I have checked it probably several times a day ever since. I'm 68 (I know, almost as old as Dumbledore himself), and work in an Elementary School library, so you also give me a lot of "conversation starters" to get new fans interested in the books! Keep up the fantastic work!

I never imagined there was a whole Harry Potter fan community out there with web sites, forums, podcasts, fanfics, and more. It was before GOF came out, as I remember laughing hysterically at the picture of ron in his dress robes that you guys had posted.
