Happy 10th Birthday, MuggleNet!
Once upon a time, a 12-year-old kid was suffering from crushing boredom. He thought it would be fun to make a website. So he did. And at first, it completely sucked. Then he got really, really obsessed. He quickly found other obsessed fans -- and you know the rest! HarryPotter.com just wasn't giving us enough of what we wanted, so we took matters into our own hands: MuggleNet is a 10 year long project of collective success involving millions of passionate Harry Potter fans from every corner of the Earth. Every fan contributed in some way - whether it was posting news, submitting fan fics, or engaging in discussion on forums while we went delusional waiting for each book. WOW, has it been fun!
We'll be posting fun new features throughout the month looking back at the past 10 years, so stay tuned. Embarrassing baby photos of Andrew Sims are likely. T-shirts possible. Thank you, MuggleNetters, for your continued support!

As if it's been 10 years! I've been with you guys since about 2003 when I was an awkward 13-year-old and the only Harry Potter fan amongst my class and friends. You guys lead me to all good things Harry Potter; fanfictions, forums, podcasts etc. It makes me almost a bit teary eyed to think we're all still here after all seven books have come and gone. When I open my web browser there you are. Truthfully, I don't know how I could ever replace that need I have for Potter community which this site so beautifully fulfills. Thanks for the time, energy, creativity and love that goes into making this such an outstanding place to visit.
I stumbled on MuggleNet when I wanted more updates on the Harry Potter movies and wasn't getting it from the WB site. I at that time was interested on news and up dates with the up coming books. At first I was going between a few other sites but then found this one was the most up dated and they seem to sort out the rumor fact from rumor fiction. Not everything has been 100% news I felt was needed some times garbage seemed to show up but over, some no fault of the MuggleNet how ever over all I since I been coming here almost daily it still is hard to believe all was started by a 12 year old boy. Some sites started by adults have never amounted to much. Somehow like JKR you seem to have the right touch. Good Luck, Continue the good work. :) ( most of all thanks for giving us a site we can know will give us nothing but the straight forward facts, information, and just plain old fun site to come to)
Man, I couldn't have gotten through all the waiting between books and films without you guys. Seriously, between you and FanFiction, I would have gone insane! Being able to come here to MuggleNet and read the latest news on HP, and read what others were thinking, and share what I had to say with other like-minded Pot-heads has been a great escape. Congrats on ten years, here's to ten more.

I found Harry Potter books in 2001. I found Mugglenet about a few years later. I kept going to a place called Harry Potter.com. I didn't care for it, but every now and then someone would mention Mugglenet. Then I saw an artitcle in my local newspaper about Emerson. He was getting ready for college. He nentioned how he started Mugglenet. so, I checked out the site. Haven't regretted it since. But I wasn't sure about looking at the COS. forum. So, I didn't start posting there until ten months ago. I loved the Editorials and I love Mugglecast. I started listening to it around the 40th or 50th episode. I went back to the beginning episodes, and I really enjoyed listening to it. I am an older college student, and Mugglecast helped me many a time while I did algebra homework. Thank you Mugglenet, Mugglecast and Emerson. I hope JKR would do an interview with you and Melissa again.
Congratulations on your 10th Birthday. You guys have done an awesome job at keeping Mugglenet fresh and exciting while appealing to Potter fans of all ages. As a 38 year-old Potter fan, I have never felt like I was visiting a Kid's site, etc. As for how long I've been here, I would estimate about 4 or so years. Thank you for keeping things up beat, refreshing. Here is to many more years. Keep up the awesome work.

WWOOOWWWW this is so awesome. I first came to Mugglenet in 2007 when I picked up the book "Mugglenet's what will happen in harry potter 7" and was obsessed with the book and therefore checked out the website. Well, that's kind of a lame story but Mugglenet is amazing and I totally wish I would've discovered it sooner! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I hadn't been on any other fansites yet (as far as I can remember) and it took my quite a while to figure out how to make an account to comment :P. I'd never seen the old layout before.. :). I've been hanging around this site since 2001...d_mn thats a long time....thank you guys for all the great discussion, news and amazing contribution to the fandom, hell, you guys pretty much are the fandom! Mugglenet has been my homepage for many years, and has been just as big a part of my life as the series itself. Happy b-day guys! Don't ever shut this thing down!

Oh wow! 10 years!!!!! It seems as though it was only yesterday when I finished reading Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban and went looking for some fan fiction on google...luckily enough I landed on this gem of a site!!!!! No matter what I'm doing on the computer I always have Mugglenet open... Its changed my life so much!!!! I made friends through our mutual love of this site and the books no matter whcih skool, country, or continent I was at...my homepage has also changed from Google to Givoogle... Happy Birthday Mugglenet! I've been looking at the site since I was about 9 or 10. I just turned 18 last Tuesday. So it has been a major part of my link to other obssessed fans of HP out there. I've gotten really into it since a year and a half ago and the only Harry Potter site I'll go to is Mugglenet. So thanks a lot Emerson and the rest of MN crew for putting together such a great site!

I discovered MuggleNet sometime in 2002, shortly after I'd discovered the books, and I've hardly missed a day, since! Thanks for all you've done for Potterphiles all over the world and I hope I'm still around to vote for Emerson when he runs for POTUS, because I've been waiting for that for a long time. A "First Decade" t-shirt will do, in the meantime. And thank you for the new layout -- it's wonderful!

i've been with this site since 2000, when i was 10. this site is beautiful and it's the MAIN site i go to for harry potter information.
awwww i remember when i was first introduced to mugglenet. i was in 8th grade! and i was on my first harry potter high! my 6th grade teacher who i worked for during my free period told me about it. he was an even bigger hp freak than me! as soon as i got on i was hooked....and here i am today an 11th grader still obsessed

wow...ten years of mugglenet! have to say, in the 3 and a half years that I've been visting this site it's made a huge impact on my life. It's the times at the start of 07' when i would sit for hours refreshing the homepage incase the news of the title or the cover art broke, the excitment with every new episode of mugglenet, saving for weeks to pay my $50 international charge for picklepack ( still waiting on my t-shirt!lol!), in the last few weeks when someone i loved died...i sometimes feel that the escapism of mugglenet and mugglecast is the only thing keeping me afloat. Basically thank you so much for everything you do. I feel like i have grown up with mugglenet and mugglecast and, not to be melodramatic, i dont know what i would be without it. Although the fandom is dying down Harry Potter and mugglenet will always be a huge part of me. xxx
happy birthday mugglenet! i've had an official account on and off for like five years, but i've always looked at this site whenever i needed a harry fix. i'd say at the very least 2002- i originally just came on the site to get the secret codes to get behind jk rowling's "do not disturb" door on her website when it was open.

I actually found you guys through twilightsource - I'd just been introduced to the Twilight series by a friend, and went looking for podcasts. Imprint was the best I found by far, and when I went to look at twilightsource I saw a mention about mugglenet, and thought 'oh, a Harry Potter fansite, that sounds cool - I'll check it out.' Little did I know it would rekindle my love for the books and place me firmly in the Potter nerd category for life - and I couldn't be more thankful to you guys!!!!
