Every month should be breast cancer awareness month
Preventative care is essential in fighting this disease. A BeMitt is a preventative care tool designed to assist women in performing their monthly self-breast exams. Beth Bromberg, creator of the BeMitt, had several benign lumps removed from her breasts yet still wasn't doing her monthly exams. When her then 20 year-old daughter Jenna, a Harry Potter fan and MuggleNet visitor, discovered a lump in her breast, she decided it was time to spread awareness to make self-exams not just easier but more effective. She invented the BeMitt, a mineral oil-filled mitt that magnifies texture - allowing women to better know their breasts and increase the likelihood of early detection.
Early in October we announced our goal of raising $10,000 for Susan G. Komen for the Cure. We didn't quite meet our goal, but remember it is never too late to take action when it comes to your health. You can still show your support by purchasing a BeMitt.
Remember, every month should be breast cancer awareness month!

I'm a student in Dental School and just today we discussed breast cancer within our pathology course. Since I am a guy, I don't think i'll be buying a BeMitt! But anyway good job MuggleNet for promoting good health self care and awareness. I cannot believe I'm a 1st comment by the way! Woohoooo!
Just so you know, menn can also get breast cancer.
Exactly! Everyone month should be! Women AND men need to be aware of the risks associated with breast cancer. Everyone should perform a check when they're in the shower...it only takes seconds! If you're too young then tell your parents to do it!
I'm a Nurse Practitoner in general surgery here in the States snd I deal a lot with breast cancer especially initial diagnosis. Don't forget men can get this disease too! Thamks to HP fans for their support of such a worthy cause!!! :)
I agree with what Mugglenet's saying - my mom is a survivor, as well as my aunt, and it's so important to remember to get checked and be safe.
Also remember there are many other cancers to support. Two weeks ago I lost my 19 year old niece to Ewing Sarcoma. American Cancer Society helps all research

matsemann08, I know, but breast cancer is not nearly as common a problem in male patients.
BTW, my mom was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer last week and started chemo today. For those who pray-kepp us in your's please!! Thanks :)
thanks mugglenet for promoting this!!!
It is important to support breast cancer, sure, but what about the hundreds of other forms of cancer that don't get any attention at all? Thus, they don't get any of the research dollars and are far more lethal than breast cancer. We've gone a long way in breast cancer, but there's much longer to come still with other forms. November is National Marrow Awareness Month, yet nobody seems to know that. Marrow saves a lot of lives. Let's support that too. go over to marrow.org and learn more.
