Stay warm, wizard and witches! The Scotsman is reporting that a Scottish textile maker has been tapped to create pullovers and cardigans for use in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. While it's not the most exciting news story, it's nice to see that the team behind Potter is looking around the United Kingdom for businesses that could be beneficial to the production.

2nd/3rd depending on how you want to look at it. Nice. Anyways, I appreciate this random little tidbit, mostly because its random. Thank you, Mugglenet, for my daily bit of randomness.

This is so funny because my friend and I were just talking about how awesome the sweaters are in harry potter and we really want to get some!

This IS exciting, because we may be seeing similar pullovers and cardigans showing up at Hot Topic or other Harry Potter merchandise outlets in the future!

Hey, this ACTUALLY seems really exciting! Ive always liked those sweaters, if I had one, Id wear it all the time. I wonder if you can get one from one of the online shops.

I just looked, you can buy the sweaters from Alivans, but only in kid sizes.

Is the picture with the article old or new?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-11-15 10:38:53

Actually, you can get all the sweater styles in ADULT sizes, even the button-down sweaters, in ALL the house colors at www.WhimsicAlley.com. Whimsic Alley is a Harry Potter store located in Santa Monica, California. I have visited the store several times, and they also carry robes, scarves, patches and just about everything else you may need costume-wise. The robes are very high-quality, and look just like the ones in the films. They carry all of these items in ADULT SIZES. I highly recommend them. The website is www.WhimsicAlley.com. The shopkeeper, Stan, goes to all the Harry Potter conferences to sell these items there as well.

Oops, sorry people, I was looking more closely at the Alivans sweaters, the size Small is what you would get for a Youth or small adult and the other sizes are all Adult sizes. RikPotterButler -- this Whimsic Alley place looks really cool!

@ USAHermione - that picture is somewhat old. Its from filming a few months ago. But I thought this news was kind of interesting... I was actually hoping that there would be pictures posted of what the clothes would look like, lol.

Cardigans remind me of Umbridge, lol. But who honestly cares?!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-11-15 16:01:43

i wonder how cold it is there now?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2009-11-15 17:17:22

That makes sense. I bet its FREEZING in England now and a lot of the battle takes place outside. That will definitely benefit the economy in Scotland...especially when you consider they always have like 10 per person for the actors and Im sure they ordered some for the crew too. Thats got to be around 1500 sweaters. I bet that textile manufacturer was happy.
