Cool. Not realy revealing anything, but it is nice to see. Itll be interesting to see what the manor, with alterations, looks like on the big screen. Would be cool if they kept the albino peacocks, but they arent deal breakers.

I got really excited when I saw this, I agree with Hermionenessie this should still be the opening. I cannot wait for this movie to come out now! When do you think the first trailer will come out? I think it will be the midle of January, a quick minute trailer to wet the appetite! :)

Its definitely the first chapter!! It looks great!! Its not as detailed as the concept art for the HBP movie, but I still love it. That opening scene of Malfoy Manor is going to be so intense. I cant believe theyre already making this movie! Its crazy! The book just came out in 2007! I already know Im going to start bawling right when I hear the infamous Hedwigs theme song and see the WB logo.

phoenixknighter, thats a really good observation; I think so too. It was very effective in HBP when they showed (for those brief seconds) Harry and Dumbledore being bombarded by reporters at the ministry. They will probably do something similar in DH and briefly show the funeral as somewhat of a reminiscence or a flashback and then slowly transition to the Death Eater reunion at Malfoy Manor. From what I have heard, DH looks like it will probably be a masterpiece. It gives the filmmakers a bigger canvas to work with: more sets, more landscapes (on-the-road camping scenes), and plainly more plot-intricacies to work with. Another thing about this one is that the story is more humane and (as cheesy as this sounds) organic; it begins with a wedding (a universal custom) and the plot gives the characters much room to evolve. All the scenes in the book where the trio are in Grimmauld Place or in their tent, discussing their current predicament, is handled in a very mundane manner (in the book). In the hands of David Yates--who is known to get down to the realism of human emotions and intricacies--we can rest assured that J.K. Rowlings sensibility towards the humanity of her characters will be translated to film very effectively. This is gonna be good.

Hey, thats a good idea, people, I really hope they do a flashback to the funeral. I was really disappointed when they cut that out. Well, this concept art is really cool! I hope they make sure that Snape is seen as a hero in DH2; even though hes a piece of work, he was still really brave.

Are you all sure this is Malfoy Manor? Then again, I dont really see what else it could be, so it probably is Malfoy Manor. But its a really nice piece of art!

I KNOW kapuffy.. DH Part 1 is gonna be SUCH a masterpiece, im actually starting to pre-hyperventilate, which ive never done to a Potter movie before, lol. If you thought POA, GOF, or HBP was the best movie yet, just WAIT until DH comes out.. its gonna MURDER every single movie that comes out that year.. in a way i really do HOPE that Twilight: Breaking Dawn comes out the same time DH Part 2 is coming out.. so we can all sit back, relax and WATCH how Brutal Harry Potter will Massacre Twilight, lmao! Anyway i loved the DH book the best.. but i agree SOME of the camping scenes were quite Mundane. and the time-pacing from December-March went by soo QUICK through those camping scenes JK Rowling dwelled on (no hating though). But in the movie they can cool down now and pace everything normally since its in 2 parts. The only MAJOR change i heard from the movie is that Harry Potter will not be impersonating Barny Weasley (rons cousin) and Harry and Hermione wont be Impersonating Muggles when they go to Godrics Hollow. They most likely will be under the invisibility cloak. and wow, exactly 365 DAYS is when the movie comes out.

DUMBLEDORES FUNERAL WILL NOT BE IN THE FILM. I guess its a possiblity. Maybe they will show his tomb or something so that Voldemort can take the wand out of it...but I doubt there will be a whole funeral. The thing with the wands lighting up was supposed to be a tribute to Dumbledore...it replaced the funeral. That was it. I think the DH film will open just like the book with Malfoy Manor.

phoenixknighter, yeah, from what Ive read on the DH movie, its true that those little plot details of Harry impersonating Rons cousin being left out. I dont know if Im forgetting, but in the scene--in the book--where Hermione turns into Bellatrix, does Ron also turn into a death eater, or does he remain under the invisibility cloak with Harry? Because it seems that he will also be turning into a death eater from all the pictures Ive seen of the shooting at Shell Cottage. What I think is going to distinguish this movie from all the rest is how is the fact that the plot has so many details one can see in award-winning movies such as The Godfather, Lord of the Rings, and Gone With the Wind: you have two characters getting married in a time of turmoil (love and war), you have an epic war (the battle at Hogwarts), and you have the ultimate fight between good and evil (like in Star Wars). If this series does not make it into the Hall of Fame, then Im going to be a bit upset, because it should fall up there with classics such as Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, The Godfather, and a variety of others, if it hasnt already done so. The one movie that really hit me was Ootp, because it handled that complex relationship between Harry and Voldemort very well. It was perhaps done the best way it could be done, given the length of the film.
