I pictured him a little like Ollivander but slightly insane. And a little older than this guy, and a little more fragile-looking. And with frizzier hair.

i definetly pictured him very old, with white or salt and pepper hair. this xeno is definetly younger, but looks pretty crazy which is how he should look most of all. as long as he acts the part well, im sure itll be fine. are they going to keep him cross-eyed, though? that would add some humor.

I thought at first it was Lucius Malfoy who was laughing at something. Xeno looked older, at least I thought so. And he had slightly crossed eyes. Oh, well, some of us didnt like who they picked for Horace Slughorn, but it worked out o.k. Maybe this will work out o.k. too.

OMG!!! This is crazy!! Its like the first picture from Deathly Hallows!! He looks awesome!! Xeno is supposed to be crazy and Rhys definitely looks that way in this photo!! I LOVE how the Lovegood house looks! It looks run down like its described in the book, but at the same time theres a lot of color and clutter everywhere. You can tell it probably looked a lot more magical when Lunas mother was alive or before Luna was kidnapped. I cant wait!!!! OMG!!!!!

This isnt necessarily a scene from the movie. Its just a set photo so the actors are not in character. This could be between scenes because hes looking off camera. In the book, Xeno does smile a lot though because hes trying to pretend nothing is wrong and hes trying to keep the trio distracted.

I will honestly say I didnt picture him to look like that because I always thought they would cast Bob Hopskins to play Xenophilius so thats who I pictured when I first read the book. However, I absolutely LOVE Rhys and I think hes perfect for the role. If anyone has seen Notthing Hill...they will know what I mean.

Oh my god... way too sexy for the role, hes like competing with Lucius here or what? I imagined him wayy older, a cross between Filch (but not as ugly) and Dumbledore (but without so much elegance).

@Bookie: I think hes going to look exactly like that in the movie and so will the house, but I dont think this is an actual scene from the film. Its just a set photo just like all the other DH pics, but he looks amazing. In the book, the Lovegoods house is described as being messy and over cluttered and pretty much falling apart because Xeno is depressed about Luna and hes also not the most organized man. I think the decoration fits the book perfectly.

Not exactly how I pictured him (Austin Pendleton always came to mind while reading the part in the book), but the look definitely works for the character. Looks like hes a somewhat aged hippy, which works. Nice to see theyve kept the horn in the scene. Itll be interesting to finally see this on the big screen.

When reading the book, I pictured Scottish actor Billy Connelly as Xeno Lovegood. Im sure Rhys Ifans will do a good job, he just looks a little younger than I thought his character should be.

I have to say, I really kinda like this...lol. First off, Im not used to Yates embracing such a colorful scheme for his movies; his previous films were very dark or washed out. Xenophilius does look like a hippie, but when you see how Evanna Lynch portrays Luna, it makes sense because she, too, looks like a hippie. Yates seems to be rendering a very faithful adaptation, since, of what I can see of the house, all the objects described in the book are there. This scene will be very interesting, a very bitter-sweet scene in a very dark and thematic film. I like it, and its probably better than I imagined it.

It actually makes a lot of sense that he would have a hippie-esque vibe. Rowling said that Luna was a "naturalist" or the equivelent.
But still not what I pictured. I thought a little fatter with glasses. Dunno why. But Ill leave judgement til I see him on the screen.

Like it matters: Not what I expected.
I pictured more Albert Einstein or that guy from Back to the Future hair.
I just hope he does well portraying Xeno. Ive been a little disappointed with some of the actors. They may do well in other movies, but when it comes to HP it seems like everyone forgets how to act. From the best actors on set to the newbies who are just learning, everyone seems very scripted.

I pictured him to much... wackier. But I think... itll probably turn out OK in the end. These pictures arent even actual stills from the movie. So there may be computer effects or something that they may add to make him look more crazed (and cross-eyed, which was what he was described as) like what I thought Xeno Lovegood would look like.

Mmmm...Ill agree with most people. He looks a bit like a Malfoy, hes a little too young, hes much more good-looking than I imagined. Xeno in my mind is a comical, cross-eyed, candyfloss yellow haired man. BUT, Bonham-Carter wasnt the Bellatrix in my mind, and she is now. Ill be happy as far as this guy ACTS like Xeno.
