Since the very first Harry Potter film began filming at Leavesden Studios a decade ago, Harry Potter fans have hoped that one day they'd be able to visit the real Harry Potter sets themselves.
Lucky fans (and press) have received the opportunity, and now it looks like Warner Brothers may open it up to visitors in the future. From the Financial Times:
A person familiar with the plans said Warner Brothers wants to make Leavesden a European hub for post-production, including visual effects, animatronics and film editing in the UK, and believes that it will attract film business to the country.
The proposal also includes a plan to allow members of the public to visit, by appointment, the sets of films made at Leavesden, including the great hall from the Harry Potter series.
The Great Hall is one of very few sets that have remained in tact at Leavesden since Sorcerer's Stone filming. Other classic sets include Dumbledore's Office and the Gryffindor common room.
Official announcements likely won't be seen for a while, but as always, we'll keep you updated! Thanks to Snitch Seeker for the tip.

....... for like 8000 pounds. If i was rich i would have paid any price for that. If WB do this it will be great, hope they keep loads of the sets and props. Although it would be loooaaads better to go when theyre filming. Anyone know what security is like at Leavesden???

personally speaking when you know there are 6 Potters coming and at the first one Potter gets the Goblet of Houses, then you definitely want to breathe and dream with Harry Potter. somehow the magic of the first one is different than the magic of the rest, its something like seasons in the sun and people had to know they will live there and do not want to make it end. half blood prince raises expectations to the expected level when it comes to friendship, chemistry, bonds. but the goblet of houses is the goblet of houses, end of story!

Firstly i have to exclaim my confusion for the comment above about the "goblet of houses"!?!?! and secondly... OMG my dream is closer than ever before, It would be criminal to destroy such history!! I mean you wouldnt destroy an ancient wooden ship just to make room for a new one! same concept! I urge WB to keep as much as they can of this legacy! If I never visit that set then my life will never be complete! Same goes for all fans I am sure.

Must admit its sad to think that some of the sets have already been dismantled, so will be good to keep a few of the *important* ones for everyone to visit xD Just have to somehow get to London...........

really good news... I sure hope they keep the sets and then open them to the public... I always wanted to go to the UK and to be able to see Leavesden with all the HP stuff... all I can say is that it will be the best trip ever!!!

omg this would be AWESOME. i live about 30 minutes away from Leavesden, and one of my best friends lives like a 2 minute walk away!!!
weve always wanted to abuse the fact that we live so close to where most of the hp films are created. i would go there like every weekend if i could... hope theres more news soon! x
