Electronic Arts, makers of the Harry Potter video games that follow the plots of the films, today announced their third quarter fiscal year 2010 results. With it came a list of video games they plan on releasing in 2010. Of interest to Potter fans is one game listed as "Harry Potter Title TBA". It is scheduled to be released in the third quarter (between October - December) on consoles, handhelds, and PCs. We suspect this is a Deathly Hallows, Part 1 video game. Do you have any guesses? As always, we'll keep you updated! Thanks to Rami for the tip.

If its Deathly Hallows, I wonder how they would approach it. Hopefully not the Goblet of Fire way...Even though I dont play the games anymore.

Actually, just so you know. I went on the link and it stated that the game would be released in 2011.

i bet theyll use almost identical character models from the 6th game, and it will probably be a very linear game... unless they say to hell with the story and let you explore everywhere, even though 90% of the time they are trying to get in and out without being noticed..... it will probably be around the same quality as the last couple... not worth the 60 bucks it will cost, probably best to let the price fall to like 20 before you buy it... it will drop fast too, within a couple of months it will drop to below 40....

Its the fiscal year of 2011 which starts in october 2010.

In the HBP game the characters look like ogres with wigs. I hope that they go back a little bit to how the game was for OotP..

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-02-09 13:52:32

Are they going to do part 1 and 2? Seems to me like they would just have one game... Seems a hastle to have 2 of them... Then again, more money... So well see...

They better have an ONLINE component to the game! All games now a days are expected to have online capabilities. The dueling club in Half Blood Prince was cool, but if they had more characters and online capabilities it would have been awesome.

That would be very cool if there was an online feature. Hoping this game will be a good one! I wonder if they will combine both Part 1 and 2 in one game, or have two seperate games...

Interesting. Definitely sounds like it could be a Deathly Hallows video game. Should be interesting to see if the game is split into two separate games, or if it ends up as just one game. Should also be interesting to see how they handle the story line in a game format. Personally, Im hoping its got a similar multi-player option to that of the Goblet of Fire game. While I like the Potter games, I still think that the Lego game coming out this year, and its eventual sequel, will end up being the best Potter related video games made. Each movie themed game seems hindered in some way.

yeah, the games have been hindered by incompetent developers who lack interest in the harry potter series... also, EA was more than likely breathing down their necks to get the game done, complete or not, to release it along side the movie......... but, i totally agree. lego HP will no doubt be the best HP game made to date... which isnt saying a whole lot considering the complete lack of quality in the HP game department...

I bet theyll do what they did with LOTR: the Third Age, and make it somewhat RPG-ish, and have the story be linear, but allow you to go back to locations youve been to before.

FOr people Saying they read the game will be out in 2011 , 2011 fiscal year , means from 2010 to 2011 * February*.

Well, i believe they will make 2 games for DH, becuase if its like HBP videogame, theyll stick to the movie (with lame dialogue of course, but just as well) and reveal us some parts of DH 2 movie, which i dont think they would dare. I believe ill buy both because i love HP. The games are good, but i expect the DH ones to be epic, as i know the movies will be. Cant wait for the films

I liked the 6th game, so i guess ill check this out. Didnt like the 5th one tho, but the 4th and 3rd rocks!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-02-10 15:45:05

my god people actually liked the 4th game? that was the only one i hated so much i couldnt finish it... guess if i played it with someone else i might have enjoyed it more, but i doubt it...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-02-11 08:40:27

1,2, are likable, 4th is......ok. 3rd and 5th rocked. 6th downright sucked. All games of course

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-02-11 11:35:28

the fifth one didnt rock, the dueling was horrible... basically just twirled the analog sticks hoping until the enemy fell down... the 6th one had by far the best dueling, and easily the best broom stick flying... but it did lack in most everything else... the third one was pretty good, though the whole being able to ride buck beak around the castle thing, didnt really do anything... cause there was nothing outside the castle... the second one was pretty good, though the camera got in the way sometimes... the first was alright, though, like all but the 5th and 6th, there wasnt much outside of the castle... and the fourth one, while an interesting new approach to the series, was awful in most respects...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-02-11 13:32:50

Correction: the fifth one on the wii rocked. Any other console was null. and I was talking about exploring and actually having things to do.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-02-11 14:26:23

ok, ill give you that one, it easily had the most to do after beating the story.. and the stuff there was to do, was much more entertaining than in 6... but i hated gobstones, its so difficult to control the power of the flick with the analog sticks...

Am I the only one that hopes this will be a Quidditch World Cup sequel thats less... ya know, horrid?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-02-14 04:38:54

Who cares, so long as it is better than the Half Blood Prince game. Man, that was horrid. At least Order of the Phoenix was a great game...
