We'll be getting an inside look at the making of Universal Orlando's Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park in just three months. NBC has announced that they'll be airing a "Making of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" special on Sunday, June 6th. No details about the special have been announced. The Hollywood Reporter only says it is "a sneak peak". We'll have more details if any are announced. We'll also remind you about its airing in June!

If its a sneak peek thats airing in JUNE, when is the park opening anyway? And how will it still be "Spring 2010" ? Aside from that, Im super excited cause Im not going to be able to get to the park till 2011, so bring on the previews!!

A sneak view of the park is going to be good, vacation time is almost around the corner and this is only the beginning. I can wait to see the whole thing in action.

All I can say is that the park BETTER be open by May(ish). My boyfriend and I are actually taking a trip down to Florida from May 21st - May 29th. The 29th were flying home. And the main purpose of the trip is he has always wanted to go to Univeral Island of Adventure because he is a HUUUGE super hero and comic book fan. Not like the nerdy kind, but still a fan none the less. And I wanted to go for the Wizarding World since I have already been to Universal before...and weve both been to Disney before. I know the package deal they are offering starts with May 28th which will be our LAST day at Universal. If it opens that day im going to be really bummed and annoyed with how many people are going to be there, but ill still be there none the less. Ill be so mad if it opens right after we leave. This trip is costing me a pretty penny and I find it really annoying that Universal hasnt narrowed down the estimated time as to when theyll be opening. But im assuming that theyre figuring BY May 28th itll definitely be open since thats when the package starts.

If its a sneak peak airing in June, then obviously the theme park will open after that. Looks like they are really following the June 30 deadline. Obviously, they would want as many HP actors as possible to attend the opening. If they open before that, no one would be able to attend due to prior filming commitments (or clash in schedules, in Emmas case). Think what would happen if Dan/Emma said,"Sorry, I cant make it as Im facing scheduling conflicts due to filming (or university)." And there are some actors who are already confirmed to attend the opening. Cant have them backing out at the last minute due to prior commitments, can you?

Ok ok....just because a media source called it a "sneak peak" does not mean the park will not be open. the park without a doubt WILL be open by then. The only confirmation weve recieved from Universal is that itll at least be open before May 28th or so, based on the vacation packages they are selling already. The correct phrasing of this thing should be a "behind the scenes"--its a "sneak peak" into how the park was made, if you will. Itll most likely go through the development, conception, construction, and even the opening of the park. The park will be open though when this airs. If they wanted to do a "making of Disneyland" special on TV right now, even though Disneyland has been open for 55 years, it would be fine, and it would work. Analyzing two vague words of description by the Hollywood Reporter about a project that was actually given NO description is not that smart. And saying that it cant open before the end of June because no actors would be available is just stupid. First of all, theyll get who they can get--actors in attendance, while cool, will not influence the thousands of visitors booking plane tickets as we speak (almost all of whom will not even be there opening day). I am sure we will see many high-profile Potter stars there, possibly even the trio, but it definitely will not be in June.

I am pretty certain it will be open well before June 30....my little boys wish is to go to WWHP and Make-A-Wish has us scheduled to leave June 12th so that my son can be there for his 9th birthday (June 13th)....I have heard nothing about delays in travel dates....and a wish is serious business ;-) So I am sure it will be open before then.

DUDE!!!! I thought they said it would open in March/April! GRR We are hoping to attend the opening but if Hogwarts isnt open, and if they screw around with the release date Ill be so angry..

Awesome! I cant wait to watch it. Im actually hoping the park doesnt open until June or July. August if Im lucky. Im taking a summer class and I want to be there on opening day! That wont happen if it opens in May. :(

This will be so exciting to watch! I want to go there soooo bad, but money is tight, so it probably wont be until next year. :( But I can hope...not to mention save up LOTS of money.

June 6th.......odd, thats the day after Draco Malfoys birthday.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-03-06 08:32:28

Thatsopt odd....It (might) be if it WAS on Dracos birthday, but its not...There are like a-hundred characters from Harry Potter (obviously) all with birthdays! So it would most-likely be airing either on or around the time of someones birthday. And Im kinda pissed about this, Im like the biggest fan of this park. I was there the day they announced it, before-hand I has heard the rumors so I looked it up and luckily, I was there the exact day they announced it! Ever since, I have been coming on MuggleNet every single day to look for updates or construction photos. And Im pssed because I might be going around June 6th and it wouldve been cool to see this before I went to the park.
