Speaking at the UK premiere for Remember Me, Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy in the Potter films, talked about Deathly Hallows and revealed for the first time how they will be aging the characters for the epilogue.
"There's a lovely moment at the end of the film where we're all 35 years old, Dan and I are very excited to see each other as old men!"
"They're doing it with prosthetics, with me at least. No digital enhancements, it's all real stuff. I'm hoping it's going to be flattering, we'll see!"
He also mentioned the benefit of splitting the book into two films saying, "One of the great things about the last one is that we've managed to split it into two films. We have all the freedom to stick to the books exactly and revel in them and enjoy every page."

I agree with caityk - 35 is old? Im over 35 a bit and believe me 35 is not OLD. In looking at photos of myself at 18 and again at 35 there is very little difference - different hair style and different clothes but my face is essentially the same. Maybe I weighed a bit more but not significantly. It would be different if they were going to be 65 or 85 but seriously, 35 isnt that different from 18 or 19 if you take care of yourself. I certainly hope they dont over do it and make them look OLD. That would be very wrong!

Ok, I agree-35 is not old!!! I am a 40 year HP fan and my husband is turning 36 and is a huge fan. I love that in their early twenties they see it as being old. Trust me once you turn 30 your realize how young 40 happens to be and so forth. I cant wait to see what they look like when it happens!!! By the way 40 is really young!!!

harry8voldemort your idea is amazing, you should send it in to WB. If they did that, everyone would be laughing throughout the entire epilogue... and it might actually get confusing because some may think he is Lucius back from the dead or something. Last minute plot twist. i cant wait to see this scene!

@ Barcelona thank you, but what do you mean Lucius "back from the dead" has that been confirmed?

bahaha loving the 35 as old thing. Im glad he said 35 years old, I was getting annoyed that everyone kept saying 40! Though Im just strange that way

Thisll actually be more difficult than it would be if they were, say. . ."old men". Over 55. Its a bit harder to age someone a few years without going overboard. Im super curious to see the results.
Tom has a face that I think could be aged well since he has a bone structure lending itself to appearing older. Dans a little more baby-faced so well see. :)

Well they CANnOT mess up the epilouge. WE NEED another TRAILER showing some action stuff hmmmm.... THE BATTLe of hogwarts... I bet anyone 100 grand and a left nut that the battle will have 12 nameless deatheaters,a couple of students, and the wack ass explosions. shhh I know it is magic but when spells hit the walls blow the whole darn thing down.

i think the most exciting thing that he said was that "We have all the freedom to stick to the books exactly and revel in them and enjoy every page."

Im pretty sure he was teasing when he said "old men". Hes gotta be about 20 years old himself now right? You definitely dont consider 35 as old once youre already in your twenties. All you teens out there will probably be 35 years old one day too and then youll understand how ridiculous it is to call 35 "old". ;) Im not yet 35 myself but I can pretty much guarantee you Tom doesnt really think 35 is "old". ... And for the record, most 35 year old guys, maybe not so much the girls, but guys in their mid-30s usually look the best theyll ever look. Its not like theyre going to be covered in wrinkles and gray hair. But theyre out of that awkwardness that can still exist until your late 20s.

WILLOWROSE: i agree with you that felton was just kidding about really saying they were old. Many people make jokes about age......... I believe prosthetics is a nice option for not having to use cgi, because as many of you say, 35 is not that much of a change so they dont need to overdo them and just a real technique. I think its gonna be great. And felton said it, they are sticking to the book so plz dont complain about every change. :)

lol, of course he was kidding. I also call "old people" to very young ones, just for fun or because i dont realise. But 35 is very young, and im gonna be there in 20 years, so i may as well embrace it lol. Cant wait, i know the epilogue is gonna be great. Im glad theyre not using cgi. We dont want it overdone, do we?? CANT WAIT FOR DH!!!!!!! YATES ROCKS

Interesting that they chose to do it with prosthetics. I guess it makes sense. They dont have to age them that far. Ive seen some 35 year olds who look like theyre 20.

I love the idea of them aging the characters, even if it is for a little part of the movie. I also hope that since they are splitting the movie, and making us wait nearly a whole year in between the two, that they include all of the juicy and amazing details that the book has. I have noticed that the last 2 Harry Potter films seemed to be missing a great deal of interesting facts that would probably have made the movie much longer, but still I hope Deathly Hallows compares with the greatness of the book.
