I hope it comes out in July too! But in Parade I heard that the 5th movie was coming out in Spetember when they said who was playing luna lovegood, but on the verituserum site, it said July.... I wounder which one is true??!?!?!?!? I hope July!! the sooner the better!

Hooraaay! We get one more year of Happy Harry Potter theorizing! I don't think that I would be able to deal with it coming out next year. Although I'm dying to know what happens I know that I'll die (or atleast a part of me will die) when I read the last word on the last page of the last book. "Scar"... that sends shivers up my back!

omg! does this mean its gonna take even longer? i can't wait 2 more years! why is she so slow at writting. i know the books are big and all but still... If it aint comming out this july then that means it'll be the summer after because she won't release it during the school year, only summer. GOD darn JO! 2 MORE FRIGGIN YEARS! get a move on!

P.S. it was never gonna be released on the 7/7/07 anyway because the OOTP movie has a confirmed release date of the 13/7/07. They're not stupid enough to have a 5 DAY gap between a HP movie and a book. I am almost 100% sure it'll be summer 2008 before we see HP7. If we're lucky we might see it in August 2007 but i really doubt it because Jo's said herself that shes not nearly finished the book, she still has loads to write. As i said in my last post, she won't release it during the school year so we'll most probably have to wait for summer 2008. sucks to be us eh?

Also i don't know why people are saying "yay" to this information. Do they think it's going to come out before 7/07/07 ? because it's obviously not. Jos only 3/4 through the book from what i've heard and then theres editing and publishing etc... why are people glad to hear that july 07 was false, that was the earliest we were going to see the book.

Firstly, where does it say that Jo is 1/2 or 3/4 of the way through? All she's said is that she's not close to finishing. As to a 2007 release, this could still happen - it could be a Christmas holiday release. How cool would that be?!! And PS/SS was released 1997. What better way to end the series than exactly 10 years after the first in the series...

Yes Jo said herself shes NOT NEAR CLOSE TO FINISHING. I'm assuming that she can't be more then 3/4 through then. If she was further then that she would say "i'm writting the last chapters" or something like that.. Also i said IF WE'RE LUCKY we'll see it in august 2007 but i am 100% sure that it will not be any early then the 31st july 2007. the reason i say the 31st is because thats Jo's and Harry's Birthday so she may want to release that date. The 7/7/07 was always a rumour and fans wanted to beleive that it would be released on this date because 7 is a "magical" number. That means nothing. The OOTP has a CONFIRMED release date of 13/7/07 so there is no way that we will see the most awaited book of all time released 5 days after a box office hit HP movie. It just wouldn't be smart marketing etc.. As to you're comment about a december release i doubt it becasue the last two books have been summer releases. some children might not finish such a big book over christmas holidays. So in conclusion, the very very earliest we'll see it is the 31st july 2007 and thats if we're extremely lucky (e.g. Jo makes the effort to finish in time for her birthday) which she probably won't because we all know Jo doesn't rush things. even after shes finished she goes over it for ages before giving it to the publishers.

Before Rowling commits that she finished writing book seven, there can't be any release date. :) Scholastic or Bloomsbury can't give a release date of a book before that book hasn't completed yet. ;)

Dobby - people obviously are still rather slow to catch on that the rumour from that magazine was trashed but hey.. kerrmann2004- i totally agree with you, if she is not close to finishing it yet then there is very little chance that she will finish it for july, and like you said, it would be very stupid marketing wise to go and have the release date 5 or so days before/after the movie... assuming she writes the book until new years.. and is tying up loose ends there, it is very possible that the next 4 months could be spent editing and checking that things are ok, plots run smoothly etc... personally im hoping for a 2008 release, mostly cuz i will be back home then and can get the british version, but also because, should the book be released then, at least i know that it wasnt rushed and jo took her time over it to ensure the quality was that of the other books and that there were lots of details etc.. though it is possible that she could release it on halloween holidays could it not? or is that still too much pottermania in the one year?

Releasing movie 5 the same month as book 7 would be a marketing mistake (make that a BIG mistake!). However, releasing the movie on 7-7-07 would be very cool. As for the book, when it's done it's done (and that's THAT).

i guess that im the ONLY one that thinks READ IS A FUNNNNYYYYYY NAME FOR A MAGAZINE.......hint :every1 SUPPOSED to agree with me.....lol

Those days were a nightmare for all the people who to an airplane, I lost many things there were liquid for that. But I am graceful that JK did not lost her writting. I can wait to see the final of series.

Personally I don’t think we should abandon all hope of book 7 being released sometime next summer. If you recall Jo said in August 2004 that she was about half way through writing HBP and the release date of 16/7/2005 was subsequently announced on the 21/12/04. Previously the release date of 21/6/03 for OOTP was not announced until 15/01/03. I tend to agree with the notion that both the title and release date for book 7 will be made around xmas this year. Commercially however, it would be prudent to wait until the cinema of HBP before publishing book 7, that way anyone who has ever seen a Potter film, read a Potter book or a mixture of both would be itching to know the final outcome. There would be Potter Mania on an unparalled scale!!. Therefore if Bloomsbury & Warner want to be really ruthless and milk the suspense element to the limit we could yet be in for a very long wait.

...but...but..when is it going to be released then? Hopefully not LATER... .. hopefully we can get some info soon..
