Earlier this weekend, I received my copy of LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and wanted to offer some initial feedback on the video game -- without giving too much away.

- The amount of detail that has gone into this game is unparalleled to any Potter game before it. The graphics are great and the way they integrated the LEGO product is amazing.
- The cut scenes are both true to the series and humorous (ex: when featured, Dudley is always stuffing his face with food).
- It will take days to beat this game. There are countless areas of Harry's world to explore, side projects, and multiple bonus levels.
- You will have to play as characters other than Harry in order to advance the story (ex: Ron, Hermione, Scabbers, Hagrid, Griphook, Fang, Madam Pomfrey, to name a few)
- As previously reported, there are tasks you are prevented from doing and playable areas you are not able to access until you reach a certain year and/or learn a specific spell.
- As I am in the midst of Year 2, The Leaky Cauldron, Diagon Alley, Gringotts, Knockturn Alley, The Burrow, Hogwarts Castle, The Quidditch Pitch, Hagrid's Hut and The Forbidden Forest are all playable areas.

This game is a must for any Potter fan and will provide countless hours of gameplay (and laughs). I will post a full review of the game in the coming days. It hits store shelves here in the United States on Tuesday, June 29.

If you have any questions about the game tweet us @MuggleNet and I will reply to them there.  We will discuss on tomorrow night's live episode of MuggleCast at 9 pm ET.

And for all the information we have on the game, check out our LEGO HP section.
