Our friend Amy from Box Office Magazine is looking for some help from diehard Harry Potter fans! She writes:
Box Office is launching a new magazine for movie fans that will be hitting a theater near you in November. We're looking for Harry Potter fanatics for a feature called "Fantastic," where we'll profile the best movie memorabilia collections in the country. We know Potter fans are diehard, but we're also open to entries about other amazing displays. Firstly, I am a harry potter fan. Secondly, I don't have a collection of anything(sad face) and thirdly, my friend on the other hand has a brother who collects coins all around the world. So I will let her know this and hopefully her brother sends in a picture of him with his around the world coin collect and ends up winning(cross my fingers)!

Ive got 3 wands. Dumbledores, the one that picked me at Ollivanders wand shop at The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter, and Harry Potters Illuminating Wand. All books and movies. A monster book of monsters. and i have more just cant think much right now.

I have Harry's, Dumbledore's, Hermione's, Ron's, Snape's, Draco's and Voldemort's wands. I also have my own wand, a pillow, the snitch, the remberall, the sneak-o-scope, Scabbers, Crookshanks, and Arnold the Pygmy Puff, The Tales of the Beetle and and the Bard and the Maurders map, two of the Special Edtion movies, the books, and two Butter Beer glasses, and the Pumkin Juice bottle :)

kool i wish i collected stuff when i was younger. all i hav is a beach towel,butter beer mug,2 harry potter notebooks,all the movies(even collectors eddition),all 7 books plus tales of bettel and bard,a limited eddition pin,we might still have some toy wand my brother got for his birthday. u no wat now that i think about it i hav quite a few harry potter things. so i might do it.

I have 12 copies of the HP1 and HP5 books, and at least 7 copies of all the rest. I have a handful of books about HP. I have all the games, at least 3 copies of each DVD, magazines, playing cards, stationery, clothes, dolls, ornaments, lego sets, audiobooks, wands, trumps cards, stamps, toys, posters, rugs, a trash can, a lamp shade, duvet covers, a jacket, glasses, jewelry, clocks, drinks tumblers, a flashlight, sweets, stickers, newspaper and magazine clippings, a chess set, mousemats, computer keyboard and mouse set, calendars, notepads, ringbinders, letter writing sets, collectors' cards, cups, a popcorn bucket, money boxes, a toothbrush...
Is that a collection that reigns surpeme? Lol

Let's see...I have all the books and movies, my room is covered in Harry Potter posters, and I have a couple magazines featuring Harry Potter and a couple books about Harry Potter, plus the books J.K. Rowling wrote for charity. I have two editions of Harry Potter Scene It, HP Clue, and HP Uno. I have a couple action figures, and owl figurine, a time turner, and the snitch. Plus I have a couple owl plush dolls. A fair few shirts, trading cards, movie ticket stubs, and random coloring books and stuff. I might try for it.

I have an original shipping box from Deathly Hollows. It says it held 10 copies and it still has the original packing tape which says "DO NOT OPEN BEFORE JULY 21, 2007". It is from Scholastic, not Bloomsbury as I live in the US. Also, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is written all over the box in red with the Harry Potter font. Lastly, it also gives the selling price per book. 34.99 US dollars.

I also have the Harry Potter coin collection (Galleon, Sickle, and Knut) from the Noble Collection, a Harry Potter cloak, and of course all books (1-7 and Fantastic Beasts and Quiditch Through the Ages) and movies including several fan companion novels (Mugglenet's "What Will Happen In Harry Potter 7 by Ben, Emerson, Andy Gordon, Gretchen Stull, and Jamie, to name one of them.)

I've got more HP stuff than anybody I know, but I doubt I could top some of the people on here. But once I go to Universal, I'm going to be able to top ANYBODY, I'm going to buy so much stuff. I kind of agree with o0Amy0o, just because you have enough money to buy a lot of stuff doesn't mean you love the series more or are a bigger fan. Personally, I don't really want a whole lot of stuff, just for the sake of having stuff. I mean some of it is cool and if I ever got money to buy this kind of thing I think it would be fun, but I don't think it's an accurate yardstick of someone's love of Harry Potter.

Hm. I've got atleast one each of all the movies & books, a Slytherin tie & scarf, a Bellatrix Lestrange bust, bookends, a clock, many mugs, postcards, a beach towel, a huge blanket, a few shirts, a raincoat, glasses, a few snowglobes, a puzzle, some posters...I'm probably forgetting a few things. Oh, and I have the Dark Mark tattooed on my inner left forearm. Does that count? I agree with the people who are saying that a bigger collection doesn't necessarily mean you're a bigger fan. I have a decent sized collection, but Potter saved my life, and I mean that with all seriousness. You're not going to find many bigger fans than me.

I have the books (two of DH and SS), all the movie. Harry potter scene it,zillions of the Harry potter trading cards, three bertie botts every flavor beans cloth bags, two ever lasting gum cloth bags, many of the Harry potter lego sets, all of the video games except HBP (ethier for the playstation, gamecube or game boy), a griffindor robe that I wore for halloween, several posters, two different sets of bookends, a few missileanious HP related books, stickers, a plush snitch, a seeker tin, 3 bookmarks, and i idk what else. Anyway i know its not enough to send in. Many of it is from when i was young and dressed up as the characters for halloween. Now that im thirteen i cant afford to buy any of the real collectables (though i ask for wands and stuff for birthdays/christmas and still havent receieved anything as a gift) I dont think that im any less of a fan then someone who owns everything theyre is though. Im just as big of a fan as the next guy

I don't think you need have a massive collection of HP memorabilia to be considered a diehard fan. I mean this contest makes sense in terms of showing off how far people have gone to show their fandom but it kind of irks me when people think that just because they have more stuff, it makes them more legitimate diehard fans over those who don't. There are other reasons closer to the heart and in terms of how Harry Potter has changed and influenced peoples lives that far outweigh physical possessions. Just my opinion LOL but it's always bothered me that things are thought through this way.

I don't think you have to have stuff to be a die-hard fan, I didn't get all my stuff till last month and I've been in love with the series since Grade 1. But before you get worked up you should relize that the article isen't looking for the biggest fan, just the fan with the most stuff. So calm down, no one doubting your love of HP. :)
And @ Anakaren Cervantes I don't think age as anything to do with age, I'm 14 and I have plenty of stuff, I didn't ask for the Harry Potter items, I asked for money for my birthday.

I do agree with Lauren, your fan "status" shouldn't be measured by how much stuff you own--some of us just can't afford to constantly be buying so much stuff. I'm 14 and the stuff I have I've gotten as presents or bought. I have a Harry Potter light up wand and Hermione's wand. I have 2 small HP dolls and 1 hermione doll from the sorcerer's stone. I have all 7 books, plus the Tales of Beatle the Bard. I also have all 7 books in Spanish, as well as a Dan Radcliffe biography. From the theme park I got a Hedwig plush, a Triwizard Cup, and a Hedwig snow globe. I have 2 snitches, an HP watch, a motion detector Harry that's 18 inches, and a 12 inch Harry Potter action figure. I also have all six movies in 2 disc special edition, as well as the Sorcerer's stone ultimate edition. Lastly, I have all the Hp videogames for either Gameboy, Wii, or Nintendo DS.

I have Gryffindor and Ravenclaw ties, Harry, Ron, Ginny, Hagrid (with Norbert(a)), and 2 Hermione action figures (with Crookshanks), calendars since 2003, COS poster, HBP and SS boook posters, Quidditch game, UNO game, Quidditch card game, SS game, trivia game, HP Scene it, famous wizard cards, a HP watch, t-shirts (Weasley is my king, Ron and Harry, Slug Club, DA, Hogwarts, Ron in dress robes), SS, COS, and HBP computer games, Gryffindor and Hogwarts tote bags, Hogwarts keychain, bookmarks, notebook, folders, Gryffindor backpack, a coloring book (from years ago), soundtracks and DVDs, perhaps I should submit? If I could manage to get everything to fit in one picture! I guess my book stuff doesn't count since this is only movie memorabilia. But I have plenty as it is! I'll send it tomorrow!

BTW, i totally agree that having tons of stuff doesn't make youthe biggest fan. I'm sure there are people out there who are bigger fans than I am even though they have less hp related stuff.

However I do have two sets of the books (one ordinary set and one special edition box set) and two sets of the DVD's.
But there is my most prized possesion... a fist edition of the hard back special edition of the Deathly Hallows signed by Dan,Emma,Rupert,Evanna and Helen(Bohem Carter) from when I went to see the Shell cottage scenes being filmed...

I have the Tales of Beedle the Bard, the mugglenet book Harry Potter should have died, a HP pencil with a snitch on top, a HP portfolio, a Ravenclaw tie, a HP pencil sharpener, all HP computer games, the LEGO HP computer game, autographs from nearly all HP actors and Jo :D and a lot of self-made wands (if that counts :D).

Im a die hard fan, but regrettably i dont have that much stuff to give. Yeah, i have the whole book collection both in english and in mexican spanish, and the whole movies and all the HP videogames to date and one or two HP stuff like UNO or a toy or a backpack, but i was planning on getting all my stuff when i could go to orlando: my wand, robes, broom, sneakoscope and much much morew form zonko's... I also have a stand up placard for HBP showing Dumbledore and Harry with the pensieve and then I got the security covering from a Best Buy store for OotP dvd. I also went to IParty and got a stand up Dan Radcliffe cardborad cutout. Plus lunch boxes, watches, pencils, scarves, wristbands and a bunch of t-shirts along with collages I've made from a lot of calendars. Us die-hard fans are a strange bunch!

Well I got all the HP in german and english and the last one in french and italian and the tales of bb , and the fantastic beasts and where to them and Quidditch through the ages in en and german, I got some of the audiobooks n german I got the last book published by mugglenet (I love it!!) I got the top trumps card game of the 5th and 6th movie i got the dvd s and the film s also in UMD (For sony psp) I got a tie tht is read and golden and yeah I tink tht was all! OH and I got a homework agenda for last year

Steve vander Ark and EMERSON woohoo. a curtain, snitch 20 Qs, 2 hp wizard hats, some magizines with hp on the cover, and newspaper clippings, 2 scarfs, beedles the bard, and quidditch through the ages and fantastic beasts. puzzles, and the 2 editions of scene it. all the movies which ive seen a combined 51 times. and the dvd interactive games. My entire apartment is covered in Harry Potter Memorbila. Its crazy. From the magnets on my fridge to pillows on my couch. I went for a Gryffindor house theme. Its funny. I have wands, The Maruders map, GLasses, Scarves, ahhh you name it I have it. I have Magazines from the release of the first movie. Its insane. I have all the books, MOvies, anything I find. Just can't get enough. I have a freaking Snowglobe! Clocks, Jewlry boxes, Journals, Newspaper clippins. Ekkkkk I could go on forever.

Most of my Potter stuff has been packed up since I started college 4 years ago (and had to give up my room), but I just went and dug out all of it to take pictures of to submit! I found stuff I forgot I had. I've been collecting stuff for the past 11 years, so it's built up to a pretty good size.

Wow. So many collections. At first I thought "nah, I just have a shelf of books and a few other things." Then I remembered the books are two-deep, press clippings are shoved in between, boxes of cards, a ROCKIN Quidditch World Cup poster, a time turner, wand, snitch, 20Q's, two robes, a broom, a lamp.... geeeeez. I have more than I thought. But nothing compared to what I see here. So fun!

I personally don't believe the amount of harry potter memorabilia determines how much of a die hard fan you are. Growing up, I would have done anything to make my parents understand how much my life revolved around harry potter. Then during the Christmas of my sixth grade year my father purchased me an authentic grffindor scarf from the noble collection catalog. I was so surprised and excited! After that it sort of became a tradition with the following Christmases. I received a scarf with the hogwarts crest and house colors, harry's wand, and the marauder's map. At the grand opening of the theme park I also purchased a gryffindor banner, a potter rugby, butter beer mugs, a chocolate frog, sugar quills, every flavor beans, a honey dukes candy jar, and a gryffindor coffee mug. Not to mention the carefully created jeans and shirts designed by my three best friends and myself for every possible potter event or premiere. At the exhibition in boston I bought a t-shirt and gryffindor hat. I also have every potter game dating back to the gameboy color, and coloring books from the miniature square sorcerer stone to the new deluxe version. Ahhhh I just had such a lovely time appreciating all that I have collected over the many years of my continuing harry potter journey! Cannot wait for more hot topic shirts to be released. :) :)

I've been collecting mainly promo stuff and advertising art. I have 3 6'X4' vinyl posters of Ron. ,Hermione and Draco form chamber of secrets hung on the livingroom wall along with the 8'X4' vinyl poster from the Sorcerer's Stone. I have the cardboard standees from the bookstores, Deathly Hallows and OOP. I have a set of the Johnson Brothers dishes, 2 sets of books, bookends, alot of toys, all three gund dolls in the box of the trio. I have the free posters from Walmart and Borders framed. I have movie buttons, christmas ornaments from Hallmark. A promo Dobby still in the bag. and more. I am a grownup and I decorate my place to suit me.

We have grown up with Harry Potter and his friends and we have been through the hard times at Hogwarts. We also agree that to be THE number one Harry Potter fans you shouldn't have to have the most memorabilia, but the irreplaceable experiences. Though we often like to think we live in the magical world, we have to return to reality and face the fact that this series, like all, must come to an end. But we also know that although there are no more new books about Harry James Potter, we will always love him and be with him. No matter what. Because even though the series has ended, the memories and the amazing times we have been through and will always be having with Harry and everyone who once lived at Hogwarts will always, ALWAYS live on. In our hearts and in our lives.
I have also attached some additional photos with this e-mail to show you how dedicated we are to Harry Potter...EVERYTHING!!! Some are from Orlando at the Theme Park Opening, and some are just from our everyday lives that we do EVERYday. And lastly, some are from the midnight premier of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince at our town movie therater,where we spent FIFTEEN hours of our day waiting for the movie that we had counted down the days for since the credits played on screen for The Order of the Phoenix!

Some people have an amazing list of items, some that I sort of wish I had, but I don't like things sitting on a shelf and getting dusty... :(
