A new photo of Emma Watson released today reveals her brand new hair style. See a full size photo at this link! Below, Emma talks about her new doo with Entertainment Weekly:
"Oh my God, it was the most liberating thing!" she tells EW.com. "The stylist just grabbed the back of my hair and took a whole ponytail of hair out. It felt amazing. I love it." The chic, gamine cut, created by New York stylist Rodney Cutler of Cutler Salon and seen in this exclusive Polaroid from EW's upcoming Fall Movie Preview issue, might not seem like a huge deal to most 20-year-olds. But Watson has had to sport essentially the same hairstyle for ten years while she played Hermione. "I missed all that experimentation that most teenagers go through," she says. "I've wanted to do this since I was about 16, so as soon as I had the chance I was like, 'Right. This is it.'"

Noooooooooooo!!!! I can't believe it!!!
I don't like it.
She has beautiful face, but I prefer Emma with long hair.

she is still not ugly but she looked alot better with long hair
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 03:57:26
nooooooooooooooooooooo! why did she have to ruin her beautiful hair?? i hope she decides to grow it out again.....if she experimented with that in high school, ppl would laugh, so its good that she couldnt......
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 04:06:32
what has she done.. she had beautiful hair.. i wished i had her hair, but now she chops it all off! i'm all for experimenting with looks, but this is too far i think :/
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 04:07:13
cool hair cut! but i think the longer hair was better
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 04:23:50
Howdy Pards,
Well...it worked for Twiggy...but...
let's hope things return back to normal in time. Emma is beautiful even with no hair...
but, well, .... let's just say Emma is beautiful... and leave it at that.

I like her new hair. Her long hair was lovely too, but what better way to shed the Hermione look than a new hair style. It shows a whole new Emma. And it really is liberating getting it all cut off. Good for her!

I love her new hair! She looks so adorable!!

This is awesome! I've done it myself, went even shorter though (almost bald) and it is a great feeling. Emma looks stunning! It takes some courage and (in Emma's case) afterwards it takes even more as you have to stand against people. Personally, I think if you like it and carry it out with pride, most haircuts looks beautiful!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 05:02:55
I just know one thing... I m going to go for the DH london premiere and i dont want the see her like tht... Its ridiculous... her long hair were awesome...
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 05:03:09
i like it.. gives her more of an edgy look....but longer hair suits her face structure better!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Emma Why ? Long Hair = Better ;)

No!!!!!! Emma what have you done???!!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 05:28:02
It mus be accepted: Hermione must grow up to another level 8). It is ok, Emma is growing up and after 10 years of magic time and magic love the change is benefit for new projects, dreams, life itself. You look beautiful Emma and will always be such an adorable girl !!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 05:38:58
It's not as flattering as her long hair, but it may just be the dramatic change. Once it gets a bit shaggier, she'll look way cute :3
And I know that feeling. I had long, bushy hair for most of my life, and went totally short at about her age. Feeling the weight and irritating stray strands gone is the best part, with easy maintenance a close second. Haven't looked back since, regardless of my friends' nagging to grow it out again :P
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 05:49:24
It's a shock, but it'll grow back...it's kinda Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 05:56:01
OMFG!!!! I absolutely love it! Shes gorgeous!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 06:00:28
I LOVE it! She is a beautiful woman and this makes her look so edgy and different (in a good way!!). Way to go Emma!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 06:03:58
I can't make up my mind if I like it or not. Of course, she is still beautiful! But she probably wants a change after Harry Potter. She had such beautiful hair, but if she likes this then that's all that matters. I'm sure her new haircut will grow on us, it's just a shock because we've known her for 10 years with long hair. Good for her, though, she looks older. :) <3
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 06:07:42
Emma is a gorgeous woman...Din xpct dis 4m her!! I sumhow feel its nt feminine n doesnt suit her... *Sigh* :(
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 06:12:37
When did MuggleNet turn into a supermarket tabloid, but for Harry Potter?
Also, so this comment isn't totally pointless, I think her new hair makes her look like P!nk.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 06:18:26
Merlin's pants! She still looks lovely but I like her better with her long hair!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 06:23:31
@Wild Old Dan
Now that you mention it, it is rather reminiscent of Twiggy. My immediate thought, though was Mia Farrow in "Rosemary's Baby", which I just notice Allie had the same thought.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 06:34:28
It's a very English pixie cut, but I'll always remember her with Hermione Hair.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 06:36:49
oh, I think it's lovely! I'm glad she's happy with it. been thinking of going short myself. her long hair was beautiful, but so is this
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 06:38:46
I can't picture her with this hair!! I only picture the Hermione with LONG hair!! It's ok. As long as she loves it I'm all right!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 06:40:10
I don't understand why people can't grasp that it was HER decision. I think it looks lovely and I'm glad she has the personal integrity to take that risk. Good for her!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 06:42:05
give her a break ppl!!! she was stuck with that one hairstyle for many years!!! she wants to try something new and i commend her for it. she wants to try something new then let her!! its her hair plus it will grow bak!:P
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 06:45:07
She looked much better with long hair!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 06:47:23
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!:D
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 07:03:20
Eh...it's okay. She's still beautiful. Once her hair grows out a little it should look better.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 07:08:26
I prefer long hair, but she still looks great. I understand her, I mean I did a lot to my hair during the last years, and she was never able to even dye it! People always told her that she needs to look like Hermione, I suppose she is thoroughly fed up with that.

Emma: You look elegant and gorgeous !!
I like your new hair-style, you face is wonderful!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 07:27:32
When I first saw it I was like Noooooooooo!!! But I think that that was only because it was so much of a shock and so different. It's probably not the actual hair-cut that alot of people don't like, but just the change from the usual Hermione :(
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 07:30:40
nooooooooooooooooooooooo wht has she done to her hair? it looked so much better when it was long
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 07:31:16
I think she looks beautiful. She has the face structure to pull it off, like Natalie Portman. I think it makes her look a lot older, weirdly enough. I just wish *I* had a face like that to pull off this short a haircut!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 07:37:01
Definitely alot nicer with long hair. It must be nice for a change though.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 07:47:35
If this was the first time I saw Ema, I would think its beautiful. But after all these years on harry potter, its like woahh. I kinda prefer the long hair better.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 07:51:10
I love it! It's much more interesting, and so edgy. Yayyy
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 07:54:14
omg she looks good, I really didn't expect this though lol...and don't worry guys it will grow back, it's not a big deal
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 07:55:39
she has such a beautiful face...i dont care for the look but as long as she is happy w/it that is what is important and she seems happy....
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 08:05:35
I agree with Elijah. This isn't news.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 08:06:31
I'm all for hair experimentation, I've done it from really short hair to dying it green... Not everything suited me, but I understand the feeling of freedom that changing your hair do brings... So good for her, even thou I don't particularly like that much, I hope it was everything she hoped for and I really really hope her hair grows a tad longer soon 'cause I think she'll look great with just a simdge longer hair :)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 08:07:49
Well,if she's happy with it, then fine.
But I don't think its suits her.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 08:12:38
She still looks beautiful but I prefer women with long hair, but women with short hair still look sexy..lol..Emma could be the british Halle Berry..LOL
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 08:17:57
I love it! It really suits her and makes her look a lot more grown up in a sense. This is a great way as well for her to remove herself from 'Hermione' in a sense if you get what I mean
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 08:21:29
Love the hair cut. Emma is so HOT!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 08:23:12
i love the new hairstyle! it's time for a change!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 08:23:39
Awww why did she have to cut her hair? I think she looked better with long hair. Now that she cut it she doesn't evn look like herself in the face. But you know i can't choose how she cuts her hair.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 08:27:18
I'm just a bit shocked. I think that we are all so used to seeing Emma with her long, beautiful hair, and I'm happy that she knows what she wants, and that she had the courage to do it. Good for her! Emma, you are still the gorgeous girl you were before, and I'm happy for you! And guys, why are you all like "Nooooooo!"? It'll grow back, and Emma is still the same Emma. Good for her!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 08:30:34
yeahhhhhhhhhhhh too bad I submitted this. good one.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 08:32:28
i reckon it will definitely grow on me, but im still not over the first shock of it :)

This reminds me of a fanfic I read yeas ago where Hermione got burned and her hair burned, so she cut her hair into a pixie cut. My mom also has the same cut and it looks amazing on her. Go Emma x

Not the biggest fan of it... but if she likes it that's good for her :)

I dont like it!! i liked her *hermione* hair so much better! but it will grow back and we cant do anything about so if shes happy with it fine by me,still dont like it though.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 08:54:30
It's not my place to decide whether she looks good or not. It's her hair, her property, if this is what she wants to do with it, then go ahead.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 09:01:46
Everyone! Stop bothering her with her hair. Anyone has the right to try out new things. And the only thing that matters is that she likes it!
P.S. It looks awesome. Expresses your audacity :)
After all, you are in Gryffindor ;)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 09:03:09
I like her with long hair, but she looks gorgeous with short hair too. It's her decision, and she's beautiful either way. It's impossible for Emma to not be beautiful, though :)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 09:05:13
I'm not really mad. I think it's great that she finally gets to do what she wants now but I think she could have gone with a better style. For being such a "fashionista" she got a really plain haircut.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 09:05:52
Oh, and I wonder what Ben thinks of it. Haha :)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 09:06:21
i agree with u haider. we shouldn't judge. infact 3 years ago i cut my hair not quite that short more like a bob, and when i went to school the next day some people liked it and some despised it. and saba she probly did this to get the messasge across to us and even her that she loves playing hermione granger but she doesn't want to be known not just a bossy, smart girl, with bushy brown hair. at first i was shocked, but now i really like it

It kind of suits her in a weird sort of way :S Really different, though. I suppose she might want to tell the world that she's no longer Hermione? Humph. There's something sad and tearful in a statement such as that :(
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 09:11:51
LOL, Mercedes.
I think the long hair was better.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 09:16:51
OH NO! I think she looked alot better with long hair. But if she's happy about it I guess its ok. if she really hated it it would take forever to grow back. and i hope it does.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 09:26:36
I HATE THE NEW HAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i always wished i had her hair :( now she cut it off :( anyway is she likes it that's whats matters!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 09:27:07
and I also wonder what Rupert and Dan think of it since they've always worked with her having long and curly hair.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 09:29:32
OMG WHAT DID SHE DO TO HER HAIR?!?!?!?! IT USED TO BE SO BEAUTIFUL AND NOWS SHES CHOPPED IT ALL OFF!!!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 09:31:05
I love it. Very chic. She looks like Mia Farrow. It takes a lot of courage to make a huge change like that. You have to be absolutely beautiful to pull that pixie cut off and she does it. It's a great way to start her post-potter life. YOU GO GIRL!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 09:39:31
why did she do that yah she still looks good but with her long hair she looked freakin hot
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 09:46:09
I LOVE IT!!! I'm glad she can finally shed her Hermione look and come into her own...good for her!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 09:58:43
I love it! I've donated hair to Locks of Love 3 times, and I agree, it is such a great feeling when they cut your pony tail off. Way to go Emma!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 09:59:50
I HATE IT.
She looks really weird.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:00:21
Well crud! My hair is very similar to Emma's, and I always loved being able to see how she styled hers for new ideas for mine. Lets just say that although I've coppied her looks in the past, I won't be jumping for the clippers to match her this time.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:01:55
It's good for her that she can finally style her hair however she wants, but this just seems like another sign of the end of Harry Potter. We can't deny that she is no longer Hermione Granger.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:05:15
Honestly, this makes her seem so much more real to me. She's just like every other theatre kid I know (including me) where as soon as we're done with a project where we couldn't touch our bodies, we go and pierce, cut, dye, and tattoo like nobody's business. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't the last dramatic change we see from the Potter cast. Unlike working on a play or musical, filming a series of movies takes a seriously long time. If I had to remain totally the same for 10 years, I'd want a seriously different change, too. I give her major credit for being able to do something so daring. I think it looks beautiful. Love it.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:05:51
Noooo! I think it looks alright, but I'll miss her thick wavy locks. It must have felt weird, after ten years of Hermione Hair. i think she looked better as hermione
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:06:31
Emma is gorgeous no matter what she does, if shes happy we should be happy for her, good for you Emma for doing something for you! don't listen to everyone!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:07:47
Ugh, I do not like the short hair...though her face still looks gorgeous because she is gorgeous she still needs long hair. Really any girl with short hair is a no. I hope she grows it out soon!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:13:05
I hate it.
She looks weird.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:13:18
I love it! It looks awesome on her, but I know I'll double-take every time I see a picture of the trio when DH comes out.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:13:24
its gonna take a while to groww back. but she has more of a masculine look now. i guess.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:16:36
Why is everyone talking about her growing it back? If she likes it this way she probably won't try to grow it out.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:19:32
Honestly, I think it works for her. Not many women can pull off a short hair cut like that. Plus, if she's happy with it, than that's all that really matters.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:21:32
It looks fabulous! I know i'd want to do the same thing in her shoes!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:26:36
Emma is a beutiful woman, but really I think she looks way better with long hair. but, we all need change sometimes.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:28:37
Personally, I prefer her longer hair, but it must feel amazing to have short hair that requires little work. I have long, thick, curly hair, and its a pain. If I could pull off the short hair look, I would do it.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:30:54
I loved her long hair, but I say good for her for doing what she feels is right!!! She is beautiful with any hair cut!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:31:45
If she likes it, I guess I'm OK with it...but it's really sad...now only Rupert REALLY looks like Ron (that I know of), because Dan ditched the glasses, and now Emma ditched the hair. She is still a beautiful girl, but it just looks strange on her. I must say, I liked the Hermione hair a little bit better, but I am not going to be mad at her for it. It IS her hair!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:35:26
I love it. She's so tiny that it suits her well.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:35:57
hmm i think it's pretty good. she's so pretty i guess she can pull it off.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:36:50
noooooooo! oh well, its not bad. just different. goodbye Hermione hello Emma!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:49:44
It’s not so much the actual cut that bothers me, but rather the fact that this cut is a sign she's moving on from her role as Hermione.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:49:55
Why Emma, WHY???!!!!! DX And she does this just in time for all the DH movie interviews and appearances she's gonna have to start in a month or two DX
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:51:00
I agree with Dannie Moore up there, as a theatre actress I know it can be so incredibly frustrating not being able to do anything to your body for months at a time; for Emma it was pretty much half her life where she had to stay exactly the same. She looks much more mature now, and she was finally allowed to have a say in what went on with her body. Good for her. :D
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 10:54:10
I agree with Emma in doing something different for once in 10 years. But dang. Too much, too much. Bad, bad, bad. I was upset when Mia Wasikowska did this. Now Emma, too? Sad. What a waste of beauty.

When I was in Junior High School, there was a girl with long hair whose parents wouldn't let her cut it. Finally she struck a deal that they would let her cut it for Jr High graduation, and she did and got a permanent. She didn't look at all like herself. And apparently she felt the same way - she grew it back out and "sped it up" by using a hairpiece of the hair that had been cut off. So maybe now that Emma can choose, maybe she will choose to let it grow back at least part of the way, after the experimenting.

WOAH. It is so different, but she can pull it off. But even when her hair WAS long it didn't look like Hermione's hair.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 11:16:25
Eewww, WHY did she have to go and chop off her beautiful hair?!? What a terrible haircut. I never understand why any girl would want a haircut that looks like a boys'...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 11:17:26
Great =) she looks better !
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 11:18:28
Oh my gosh Emma I love it! You look very pretty! It's great that you have the confidence to change your look becasue a lot of people I know do not. Like someone once told me, "I hope you dance" meaning don't pass up opporunities and try different things no matter what. And if you feel like changing there's no one who says you can't grow it long again. I totally admire you for this and it looks lovly. :)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 11:26:20
She is a beautiful girl, but I like long hair - mine is waist length. But it's her head - she can do what she wants. I just hope she donated the hair she had cut off to Locks of Love. What a waste otherwise!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 11:29:45
Personally I like it! I'm glad she's trying new things and I think with this new haircut it will be easier for people to see past her role as Hermione and she will have a lot more opportunities to get different jobs, because lets face it,this is as far from Hermione's hair as possible. Also it's just hair, she can grow it out, I'm sure everyone will be surprised how fast it will have grown by the time DH part 1 comes out, if she decides to grow it out.

It would be funny if this got more comments than the comic con story...
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 11:32:52
At first I was in shock. I wasn't quite sure how I felt about it. But now that it's been a couple of days I love it. Emma looks beautiful! I'm only sad because this means Hermione is gone for good :(.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 11:34:38
she looks beautiful and funky and because it's her head and her hair it should not effect us in anyway
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 11:35:31
I LOOOOVE IT, IT LOOKS PERFECT ON HER!!!! SHE WEARS THAT CUT SO BEAUTIFULLY!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 11:37:00
I'm sorry I'm saying this but she looks like a boy :( she was so beautiful with her long hair..
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 11:38:58
@caity wish everyone was like you(it does look perfect on her)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 11:41:40
I think people have to stop thinking that Emma Watson had long hair just for Hermione, otherwise calling it "Hermione Hair." It was her hair and she has the say in what she wants. I just think that she will like it better long herself, especially how peers might treat her with her new look
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 11:42:53
NOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Emma is a beautiful girl, but that haircut just aged her about ten years. Her long hair shaped her face nice, and this doesn't shape her face at all. It looks like a hairdresser messed up when cutting her hair and kept trying to fix it until it got shorter and shorter. I'm sorry to be so harsh, but it's true. She now looks so much older and like a boy!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 11:49:45
I LOVE YOU!
She's definitly right ! I had my hair long ( at my hips) and one i cut them to my chin! My mom had screm! but it's true it's liberating!
Je t,aime emma ! I think its great on You =D
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 11:51:03
I submitted a news tip for this. it's so... different. I like her better with long hair, but i think this looks gorges. Emma is so beautiful she can pull this off. It really works for her. It's so, unlike hermione, though. It's good to hear that she likes it and it's really taking a step away from hermione.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 11:54:39
Her new haircut is ABSOLUTELY DARLING!!!!!!
So adult...So chic!!! What a bold and courageous way to enter the post-Harry Potter phase of her life!!!
BRAVO EMMA!!!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 11:59:56
Debates everywhere, fact is, it's awefull. I was so startled by her dramatic change I had a hard time focusing on the daily trivia questions and got one wrong lol! Yes yes, liberating, she has a beautiful face, blah blah blah, lets face facts here people she looks weird and its not the right cut for her. You knowit, I know it, we ALL know it. Poor Emma. At least it will grow back in time. And when it does she will be making staetmentslike oh im glad its grown back in...missing my longer hair...you will see.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:00:08
OMG!!! She has the same haircut as Ellen Degeneres!! Emma, what have you done?!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:01:27
I loved her long hair!!! I don't particularly like it, but I will say that it is her choice so it doesn't matter what we say. I will congratulate her on being brave enough to do it. If even if I did want my hair that short I wouldn't do it.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:02:26
she still looks very pretty, but she does not suit it :( she kinda looks strange....
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:03:07
Um its not bad but I liked it way better when she had longer hair. Maybe thats just cuz im used to seeing her with long hair. It may grow on me. idk
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:06:06
I loved the old hair about ten times more, but still like it. Its impossible to make Emma look bad :D. Love you Emma.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:08:05
its realli pretty, but to be honest im just so used to her beautiful long hair that she looks weird with short hair. my opinion she should keep it long. but Emma loves it and that's all that matters to me. so Bravo Emma!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:08:43
it's different, but it's still really cute :D i'm sort of glad she did it, because it's a nice change from everyone having the same long hair all the time
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:17:37
liberatin as it may b...but its wayyyy tooooo short!..like da fact dat she has a new look..but a lil more hair..not longer.. wud hv looked better!but her face is so gorgeous dat she isnt looking bad!not everyone can putt it off!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:17:52
i did the same thing but my hair was cut about an inch longer, and i just like Emma said it was liberating. She doesn't look bad at all with short hair and if that's what she wants i don't think we should criticize it. She still looks stunning.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:18:04
pull** it off..way to go emma for dat!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:18:15
Some of you people need to chill out, yeah, sure she looked better before, but, for one... its just hair and its HER hair she can do what she wants. As long as she likes it she shouldn't care what people think.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:18:38
Wow, talk about a slow news day... *grin* :p
Extremely different from what we're all used to, but it's freaking adorable. She looks sort of elven and awesome. It's got to feel good to be able to change something about your appearance after all those years. Way to rock the pixie cut, Emma!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:20:07
It's beautiful, I am getting my hair cut like that soon, I saw it in a magazine on Carey Mulligan and I loved it, I went on the computer and saw this, and it's finalized, I am getting my har cut like this. Although, I have tried a bold haircut like this before, never this short. She has the perfect face shape for it, and the right amount of forehead to pull it all together. She, like me (so says my hairdresser & my mom) can pull off just about any short hair look. The people on hear saying they hate it or like the long hair better are just afraid of the change of something they have no control over. Give it a rest guys, it's her hair not yours. And it looks FAB.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:22:01
I respect her decision to cut it off, though I prefered it long because she looked stunning, she has a beautiful face and would look good bald. I understand why. I mean, can you imagine having to keep the almost same hairstyle for about 10 years? And not being able to change your apperance? Though I liked long better, I still think she's gorgeous and an amazing actress.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:25:47
She looks SOOO gorgeous with her new haircut :D
I wish I could have this haircut, but I don't have the right kind of face :(
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:27:04
WOW!!! She looks amazing!!! I love it so much!!! I love her hair long or short, but this look SO different!! It's perfect for her little pixie face! Teenage girls are always trying new things with their hair, so it had to be SO hard for Emma not to be able to do that. And now she can!!! She's a 20 year old college student and she's have fun!!! GO EMMA!!
I can't wait to see all the photo shoots and outfits for the Deathly Hallows promotion!! This new do opens up so many different possibilities for her!!! :D
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:27:55
Oh and BTW, all the people who dislike it...it's hair and it will grow back. Plus, it's her hair and SHE likes and that's all that matters.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:33:56
I think she looks beautiful...I just recently cut about 6 inches off my hair but I idolize emma for being so brave and cutting hers all off
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:34:25
I think she looks beautiful! It's so reminiscent of 1960s movie stars, and she pulls it off really well- she's got that whole cheeky smile thing going on. It's great that she's even brave enough to do something like that... I wish I could cut all my hair off but A) my mom would kill me and B) I'm too chicken to do it!
Hopefully it brings more opportunities to her as well, a new look can often mean new people noticing you, which may mean more acting opportunities if that's the career she ends up sticking with!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:40:11
I think it looks nice on her! Yes, it is different, but it doesn't look bad. And the most important part is that Emma likes it - it's her hair! She can change it just like the rest of us can change ours.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:42:34
The story is cute and all, and I can see how see would like to change it but here's what I say... NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:44:07
I also agree with Hpintwense06
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 12:55:09
i think she still looks adorable(:
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 13:02:10
I don't like it very much. It fits her face somewhat, though, but her long hair looked way better. Also I'm wondering... deathly hallows isn't shot yet. So ... she wears a wig now while acting or what?
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 13:02:37
YAY EMMA! When I first saw this I was like "WHAT HAS SHE DONE", becuase let's be honest, we all equate emma watson with hermione. She's not just the actresse who plays Hermione, she is a real living walking Hermione Granger. But it's ridiculous for her to be tied down to the HP books. This was a probably an extremly empowering moment for her. So I'm happy for Emma. Even as a guy, I feel that it's important to experiment with the hair and she's been denied that right since...forever. And I must say, she looks far more distinguished and mature. So I'm happy for her!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 13:03:28
I think it looks good. I like it better in the picture of her in NYC, it was just styled a little different. I completely get why she did it. When I was about 12, I cut all my hair off and wore it short. It was just my way of going from a little kid with long hair to more mature. Unfortunetly for her, she never had that chance since she had to keep the same hair style for 10 years.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 13:08:34
well, I think it looks great. Except now I'm going to be confusing her with Mia Wasikowska (played Alice).
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 13:19:18
she's still very pretty.. although i dont like it :) LOL
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 13:21:23
I can understand why she wanted a change but I dont like it lool maybe it'll grow on me.. I dont know but I think it looks bette long (:
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 13:27:38
Alex B, you are incorrect, Deathly Hallows has been finished for about 2 months now. come on man, be a real potter fan!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 13:28:47
She can pull it off, BUT no matter what people say, EVERY girl looks better with longer hair.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 13:28:57
I'm not sure why so many people have a problem with her hair! It's HAIR, it grows back... usually pretty fast! I'm not crazy about it, but she does look alittle sassy! She's right, can you imagine not ever being able to change your hair style in 10 YEARS! No matter what she does to her hair she is still Beautiful! Let her be young and independent for a while.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 13:43:20
ABSOLUTLY love it!! not EVERY girl looks better with longer hair! trust me, i've tried to grow my hair out and it just looks like a big furball weird thing! seriously, my hair is SUPER thick and not curly enough to look good, but not straight enough either. kinda the awkward middle zone where it doesn't know WHAT it's doing. anywho, so not every girl looks better with longer hair, and some girls, like Emma Watson, look great EITHER way! i'm glad she cut it all off! it looks FABULOUS!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 13:46:48
I love it! I think she deserves to completely change her hair after 10 years of "Hermione hair". If I were her I think I'd want to change it up too, become a little more of my own person and not just "the girl who plays Hermione". Good for you Emma!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 13:48:45
It's not something I would do to my hair (cause I won't go any higher than the shoulder; long story), but it's a good look for her. She could totally pull it off, because it brings a nice angle to her face, but i like her with long hair better.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 13:51:28
I like both of her hairstyles, and I am really glad that she gets to experiment now. However, I was sad when I was reminded that she would never play Hermione again :'(
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 13:56:15
Emma Watson, if you are reading this (highly doubt it), ignore the naysayers and the people who say that girls should not have short hair. You look beautiful no matter what your hairstyle is. And after having the same look for a decade, you deserve a change.
I used to have very bushy hair that reached to mid back and I was miserable with it. It was hard to tame, it took forever to wash and dry, and kept getting in my face that I had to put it up in a bun everyday. My hair proved impossible to manage when I started university, so during winter holidays, I asked my mum's hairdresser to give me a pixie cut a la Carey Mulligan. Best thing I ever did for myself. Its so much easier to handle and people say I look prettier and more mature than when I had long hair.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 14:18:18
Personally I think she looked better with long hair, but I know where she's coming from when she says she needed a change. I used to have crazy long hair, and once I cut it I felt like a new person, it was the first time I had ever cut it so short. She should probably let it grow out again, but it's her decision and I applaud her for it. She still looks beautiful!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 14:20:43
I am glad she's happy with it! I am not a huge fan, but she seems happy and she's always wanted it and I'm sure it's a good change from being Hermione all of her childhood. I do hope she grows it out again sometime though.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 14:21:16
Why do some people NOT like it?? It looks amazing on her!! Plus, we haven't seen enough pictures of it yet to really make a decision. I just absolutely LOVE it! All she did was cut her hair. People do that all the time. And it will grow back eventually.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 14:22:37
She had such beautiful hair, her hair was soooooooo much more better long. It doesnt look bad, but i much perfer her long hair.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 14:26:53
You people need to calm down! IF the deathly hallows are not finished then she would not have haircut! But, She finally got her haircut yesterday and that means deathly hallows 1 and 2 is finished duh! Stop whining! You will not see her new hair in the film so get over it! I really like her new haircut and she is absolutely beautiful! Of course she will grow her back again for another time so be patience! :)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 15:25:26
EMMA! i love u! <3333 u look awesome in every style! :D
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 15:28:27
OH MY WIZARD GOD (sorry, Oh my Rowling!)! She looked really beautiful with her long hair. But I mean it's not like we have a reason to complain, because it won't be like that for the film, but I liked it a whole lot better when it was long. She sure is going to look different at the premieres. But it's hair, it'll grow back. I guess if she's happy, that's good for her.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 15:29:02
Personally, I hate it. But if she likes it, that's cool. I just miss her long hair :(
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 15:56:40
I think Emma is absolutely gorgeous, no matter what she does with her hair! :)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 16:10:06
I think it looks great. Though, when I heard that she had gotten her hair cut I hadn't expected it to be this short. It's her choice and I think it works for her.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 16:13:53
HATE IT! Love her, hate the hair-cut. she had so much beautiful hair before, now she looks like a q-tip!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 16:24:43
i admire her more this time. she's became more mature and she doesn't care what would others think.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 16:31:29
I like it. Its different and its gonna take a while to get used to it but if she likes it then no one elses opion cares
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 16:31:42
Ewww...! Too Annie Lennox for her! Her personality doesn't strike me as edgy as her hair now looks.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 16:42:39
I'm going to have a hard time seeing her on the red carpet looking like one of the guys, don't care how pretty her dress is. She looks sorta cute, like a 13 year old, but longer hair made her look glamourous. Wonder what execs at WB think?
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 16:51:48
:( she's not hermione anymore.... this makes the end of the movies even more real :(
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 17:13:37
I like it, but I LOVED her with long hair.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 17:16:47
Omg Emma looks AMAZING. She has a beautiful face, and I'm glad she's showing it off. I did the same thing last year, and everyone thought i was crazy! Good for Emma for doing it, though. I'm growing mine out again, but I hope she keeps it this way for a long time. Good for you, Emma! <3
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 17:19:47
Has anyone else seen other pics of her besides the black and white one of her here on MN? you wouldnt think shes so pretty if you saw this....http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/08/06/exclusive-emma-watson-haircut-debate-i-knew-everyone-was-going-to-have-an-opinion-she-says/ .....In this article even her dad disses her new look. And I'm sorry but parents(if your lucky) are brutally honest not like sappy fans who will say anything self esteem boosting. She is a pretty person but this cut is not right for her and she looks weird and old and creepy. Black and white photos make anyone look allright. Poor poor emma. The fact that the article says she went to salon and did this alone and then left alone because she couldnt handle what people were going to say is red flag number one that shes going thru through the "britney Spears phase" where she chopped it all off. I think our dear Emma is suffering from internal emotional issues with the fact that HP is over and when dramatic changes happen in ones life it affects what you do, how you dress, ect. Just take the Britney Spears head shaving into thought. Emma herself said in an interview she feels like someone has died with the ending of HP and shes looking forward to the summer off from everything to cope.....clearly this haircut is an outward manifestation of her internal struggles right now. Some say a haircut is simply a haircut. However, actions and outward appearance, wether or not you are a hollywood star, are a signal to the internal. We are all human.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 17:20:11
Way to go Emma. I don't have a preference on how you do your hair! Its yours so rock on.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 17:25:06
Noooooooooooo why did she ruin her beautiful hair. it was soooooo much better longer :(
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 17:31:09
She looks gorgeous no matter how she wears her hair, but, but... It's the end of an era! *sniffle* :-(
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 17:39:02
Every woman should cut her hair this short at least once in her life. She'll probably find that she likes it.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 17:48:08
it's her hair, she can do what she wants with it :] personally, i love it. and if she hates it, it's only hair. it's not yours, get over it.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 18:03:24
Beautiful! It's time for her to move on... she took her time doing it and making herself comfortable with it... she did it for all the right reasons.... herself!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 18:10:55
It is indeed a radical change. Makes her eyes seem so much bigger. Probably much more easy to care for, which is a big factor when one is a busy student. For those who don't like it I say - (a) it's not your hair and (b) it's just hair it can grow back.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 18:16:24
love it!!!!!!! very cute pixie look!!!!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 18:33:36
I love it. It works perfectly with her small-featured face and it makes her eyes look huge.
Well done, Emma!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 19:37:11
look, heres a shot of her WITHOUT the aid of the camera glamour which is making this poor girls haircut look so fabulous, without it...train wreck! See for yourselves! http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b193905_emma_watsons_chopped-off_hairmdashis_it.html

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 19:38:38
Well this was a real shock at first but it's starting to grow on me and I really like it. It was really courageous of Emma to do this when of course some people are going to hate it. Emma would look gorgeous in a Mohawk, she can pull off anything, and I think this hair-do really suits her. @OOAmyOo: I think you are waaaay off, no offense. Emma's always been very smart and level-headed and grounded and I don't think cutting her hair has ANYTHING to do with her having emotional issues! I think it's just her way of starting a new chapter (and probably a very positive chapter) in her life. I don't think she's going all Britney Spears on us! She's done with HP and has a very bright future ahead of her with college and whatever else she decides to do, and she's going to look gorgeous doing it!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 19:45:50
She is hot no matter what her hair looks like, but I do really like this new look.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 19:46:54
she doesnt look absolutley horrible. she could definitley pull it off. personally i liked the long hair better. it was more........hermione if u know wat i mean.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 19:48:03
its not that horrible. she could pull it off. but i liked it better before it was more hermione.

And by the way, to all those who are "leave emma alone" well guess what, this is a comments post...where we post comments....about what we think. do our thoughts matter? no of course not, but never the less everyone is entitled to their own opinions and if Emma didnt care what we all thought she wouldnt have posted her new hair do pic on her facebook saying, hope you all like.

She looks GORGEOUS! More power to her!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 21:11:02
I hope she sells her hair for charity. I'd buy it.. :P
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 22:31:05
SHE LOOKS BEAUTIFUL!!! I think she looks more of a young woman than a teenager, makes her look more mature... she could be a supermodel if she wanted to, she wears everything so well! She's just to worried with books right now (which makes me admire her even more). And all you detractors out there, its her hair, she can wear it spiky with green tips if she wants to... GO EMMA!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 22:35:35
By the way, @Sujay Kapre... Im positive she'll wear a wig just for your pleasure (man, sarcasm should have its own font)!! But really, you can miss london's premiere for all she cares, i'm sure they needn't criticizing, superficial, so-called fans....
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 22:41:19
I actually like it. I mean she might look better with longer hair, but just like she said she had to keep her hair the same way for 10 years. That is the only style we have known her with. It's about time she was able to give it a change. And besides she's a girl and every girl I'm friends with has changed their hair style at least once. Kudos to you Emma!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-06 23:53:38
I like her better with longer hair but I think it was something she wanted to do and needed to do and I say good for her!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 00:08:55
I think it looks really nice, because she can pull it off. I think I like the long hair better, but that may be because I'm so used to it. She's not Hermione anymore..and I think that's whats making everyone second guess how awesome her haircut looks :]<3
Glad she did it, I'm happy for her.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 00:45:34
At first I personally hated it! but I think she's just trying to breakout of the Harry Potter thing....so I'm perfectly fine with that...(hopefully she grows it out again though)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 00:51:55
It's okay I guess. I hope she grows it back though. I'm personally not too keen on the pixie cuts, but that's just my opinion.
I am curious as to what Ben thinks about this, though ;-)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 01:00:21
As someone who has sported short hair for longer than I'd like to admit, I love it! She has such a cute pixie face and long neck that it looks terrific! Have fun girl, this is your time!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 01:00:46
Why did she do that sure she still looks pretty but she doesn't look the same....
I don't like it one bit I bloody hope she grows it out!!!!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 01:18:13
I hated it when I first saw it, and I still don't really like how it looks, but if she likes it that's all that matters. I understand wanting to experiment with her hair (I did a lot in high school) and it would absolutely SUCK to not be able to when she was younger. Give her a break, she's NOT Hermione, she's Emma, I think a lot of people forget that...
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 01:30:21
Go EMMA! I've shaved my head soooo many times.. changing your hair is part of being a human and especially a girl. Every girl should whack their hair off at some point to try something new and after all if you don't like it.. it will grow back ;) I totally understand wanting to shed Hermione and start something new. Try a mohawk next time it's the most fun. I haven't been able to kick the hawk for 14 years I love having one too much!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 03:41:26
Sorry Emma... That's ugly. And I'm not being sentimental like she needs Hermione hair but IMO girls look waaaay better with long hair. I'm just not a fan of short hair. On anyone. (Maybe guys. Maybe.)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 06:21:53
That haircut is terrible! Girls always look prettier with long hair. She could've chosen a new hair style that didn't require cutting her hair. On top of that, cutting it short is bad enough, but she cut it so short that she now looks like a boy. She could wear sunglasses, a sweatshirt, and sweat pants and walk into a men's restroom with no problem.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 07:31:20
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...........thre's a mistake with her brain.....please dont blame her for this......she is so tired with movies.....!!

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT !!!!!!! SHE LOOKS NICE!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 09:06:24
IT will grow bak ppl its not a permanent thing!! give her a break she has been stuck with one kind of hairstyle for a long time!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 10:55:10
Whenever I first saw the picture I was like "Yeeeaaahhh..." I've never really been a fan of girls having short hair, but I respect here decision and I'm glad she likes it.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 11:08:49
I understand her decision and I totally respect it but I LOVED her with long hair. To me, she doesn't look the same and it's hard to believe she's the same person. Her hair cut is ok, I'm disappointed she cut it, but I understand her decision COMPLETELY and respect her decision and what she wanted to do. But, to tell you the truth, I was kind of appalled when I first saw that she had cut her hair, I miss the Hermione Granger Emma Watson. But, hey, this might help her to be known, as she wants to be known as, at Brown University as the "Emma Watson, student who goes to Brown University" not "Emma Watson, the Hermione Granger actor from Harry Potter." I hope that the haircut does what she wanted it to do for her, I'm glad she's happy and I hope that Brown University is going really well for her and that her room mate isn't a complete Harry Potter fan (as Emma was hoping they wouldn't be). Good luck in life, Emma, and I'm glad you are happy!!!!!!!

I liked her longer hair.. but she's 20 soo do what she wants and all
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 13:01:06
Well let me be honest, i think emma watson is beautiful and has been for many years. And not only was her face beautiful (which still is) but her hair counts as well. I for one prefer women with long hair, the same applying to emma. For me she looked much MUCH better with long hair and not just for the role itself, but for her being much prettier. But that is my opinion and which really matters is HERS. I totally respect her decision and i understand why she did it and if she loves it then that's great; that's what matters not what i think, or anybody else, but what she thinks. She actually has a lot of courage to pull this off. But well, i hope (for me, but however she wants) that when it grows again she keeps it that way, cuz for me she was much more stunning the other way aroound. CANT WAIT FOR DH!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 13:09:32
Merlin's Beard Emma! Your hair looks awesome! I never would've imagined you with short hair. It looks beautiful. Your long hair was beautiful as well. I think you look far older than before. I am glad you are done filming the Harry Potter films though. You looked 17 with your long hair (which is alright considering Hermione Granger is 17 in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows). Now you look like a respectable 20 year old girl. I can tell you were anxious for a change and I think it looks very nice. However, i loved your long hair just as much.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 13:32:36
I think she looks beautiful with her new 'do!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 13:39:12
Well, of course she's still beautifully stunning. I mean, she's freakin' emma watson. And she indeed looks older. BUT i prefered her with long hair by far. For me, she looked much better that way. Nonetheless, she has finished filming (so sad lol) so she can do whatever she wants now. And she actually pulls it off. What i mean to say is that she looks good, but very different, and not in a great way for me. I'm gonna have to get used to it. But its her decission, and in the end its not a bad one, so my opinion (or anyone's but hers) doesnt matter. I expect that when it grows again, she leaves it that way. But i cant wait to see her portrayal in DH (i know its gonna be awesome). CANT WAIT FOR DH!!

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
I hate u 4 this!!!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 14:04:06
I like it. It reminds me of Julia Roberts from Hook!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 15:04:35
It's not horrible, but I really liked her better with long hair. I think she would look amazing if she grew it out just a bit.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 15:58:06
Oh my gosh she is absolutely stunning!!! I loved her long hair but she looks amazing. She is so brave! I can't imagine having the same hairstyle for 1 year, but shes had one for 10. I think that it was a good decision! I love it!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 16:15:06
Emma looks ugly this way from the photo i could barely tell its was her. i think she could've left it like a little above shoulder lwnght but this cut is ugly

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...........thre's a mistake with her brain.....please dont blame her for this......she is so tired with movies.....!! --
MY GOD, PEOPLE CAN BE TRULY SHALLOW! FIRST OF ALL SHE LOOKS GORGEOUS, SECOND, ITS NOT FOR YOU TO LIKE, THIRD, YOU DONT KNOW HER (NOR DO I, FOR THAT MATTER) BUT YOU CANNOT SAY SHE HAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH HER BRAIN JUST BECAUSE A HAIRCUT. ONE THING'S TO GIVE YOUR OPINION AND A VERY DIFFERENT ONE IS TO ACTUALLY BE OFFENSIVE... IVE SEEN SOME COMMENTS HERE THAT DO NOT SUPPORT THE HAIRCUT BUT KNOW HOW TO SAY IT. ITS SAD, CAUSE THIS ARTICLE REALLY SHOWS THE KIND OF PEOPLE THAT COME INTO MUGGLENET... SOME ARE OK, BUT THERES A GOOD SHARE OF REALLY SUPERFICIAL UNINTELLIGENT PEOPLE HERE, MAKES ME SICK!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 17:00:04
well now she looks more like the 12 year old boy shes always looked like
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 17:02:24
and, she hasn't been stuck with one hair style, they change hermione's hair in the movies... besides, a couple hundred million dollars is worth sporting the same or similar hair style for years
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 17:35:57
Absolutely gorgeous!! I think this style is beautiful on her, to be honest.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 18:14:04
CAN'T STOP LAUGHING! The more I see the pic of her crossing the street not all glammed up makes me wonder...HAS ANYONE ELSE SEEN THIS???? She looks like a boy!....Yes yes, its her hair but, she's in the spotlight. She chose it. People have opinions...and people are gonna talk. It's the way of things. But come on people EVEN HER DAD DISSED HER HAIRCUT. And you know her hair hasn't been the same length her whole life because of the movies, it has been different lenghts, the movies prove that. And for those of you who think she wants to be known as Emma and not Hermione, shes not shallow enough to think that a haircut makes you who you are. Besides if that were true she'd be calling herself a lil boy right now!hahahaha! Seriously though if you are all going on the black and white pic , sure she looks pretty decent. Try googleing other pics of her, its a train wreck. Poor Emma. At least it will grow back in time. And for all those who are really wigging out on this poor girl in an unsavory fashion, I agree with PhoenixMaster, we can all have our opinions wether we like her new do or not, but at least do it in a civilized fashion. No one deserves to be hated on like that....no matter how bad their hair cut is. :)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 18:50:31
She still looks beautiful!! But I have to admit that I definitely prefer her with long hair.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 19:18:07
I love it!!! She would look gorgeous no matter what, and I appreciate people who are brave with their style and change it up. She was probably just sick of the old hair, like she said. And for all the people who are like "Omg, what did she do?"...uh, it's hair. It grows back. Unless you have some kind of weird disease. She could even put extensions into it once it starts to grow out.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-07 21:37:08
I don't like. To me, having this type of hair you should have a harder/meaner looking face to look great with this hair style. She looks too kind for this type of hair style.
idk its not my hair.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 00:18:53
i like it. but on the other hand, i miss her old hair too. it had to have gotten boring to her though. she's had the same hair for 10 years. lol
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 00:47:55
I love it! I kind of understand how she would feel. I had to keep my hair for a few years before my wedding, 'cause everyone around me said wouldn't let me cut it. and then right after the wedding I did something drastic as Emma and I've been keeping it since, but now my husband is hinting that he misses the long hair :)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 06:04:50
OMG!!! what have you done emma!!!...im sorry but your new hair cut is awufull... i loved the long hair on you. it shows, your great personality, plz let it back...
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 06:06:48
how you will act harmiony in deathly hallows with short hair???...(im sooo sad)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 08:32:25
I absolutely LOVE this hairstyle on her! She pulls it off very well. If I had the same hair for ten years I'd want to chop it off as soon as I could!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 08:49:37
If anyone can pull it off, its Emma. But I've never liked that hairstyle, so its hard for me to like it on Emma.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 10:22:28
O0Amy0o, you're not entitled to an opinion because you're a worthless gossip. You're a drain on this world. "OMG, her hair looks bad when it's windy!"
God, you're just the kind of person who makes women think that it's necessary to spend five hours a day working on their appearance. Most people don't care, just assholes like you.
I don't have opinions on Emma's hair that are as strong as yours because I don't allow such useless things to hold much real-estate in my brain. I have better things to think about. For instance, politics, work, school, relationships.. See? "Emma Watson's Hair" doesn't make that list because it's truly not important enough to warrant a strong opinion one way or the other.
I do have a strong opinion on how I feel about idiots, however.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 11:09:06
At first when I saw the haircut I was like, ''NOOOOOOOOOOO'' and ''WHYYYYY WHY WHY WHY,EMMA''. But, now really looking at it, it looks really good, though I prefer the long hair. Emma is still as gorgeous as ever. She looks like Tinkerbell. Emma can totally play a fairy in a movie now.Oh, ppl, STOP comparing her to Britney Spears!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 11:49:19
Greg Porter: "you're not entitled to an opinion because you're a worthless gossip"? I'm sorry, but that's being pretty hypocritical. So you can give your opinion, but someone else isn't entitled to give theirs because it's different than yours? Plus, just because someone comments a few times about Emma Watson's hair on Mugglenet doesn't mean that they don't have anything else to worry about. I mean, I can't wait for the Deathly Hallows films to come out, but does that mean that those are all that I think about? I'm not trying to preach on here, but this is a comment section for EVERYONE to give THEIR opinions... which some times are different than yours.

OMG!!! I can not believe she chopped it all off. I really don't like it. She had such pretty hair. :(
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 14:02:51
Hmm it seems my comment didn' post. So I shall try to re-type a shorter version of what I originally typed. @ GREG PORTER.....clearly there were worse comments posted than what I had said. Big deal if I think her hair cut looks weird, many others do as well, yet you attack me in aforum where we are aloud to leave comments. The tripe spewed from your mouth to this page is unreal! How dare you come on Mugglenet and attack total strangers and think you can label people judged by their comments when you have no idea who any of us are. You clearly have issues and angry ones at that. Many peoples opinions on here differ greatly but the fact that points of view are different from your own warrants you the right to attack other MuggleNet members? You called me worthless, asshole, a drain on this world, I give women a bad name. You have no idea who I am. Yet you try to smarten yourself up in your post with words like i care about politics and school....well well well, If you care soooo much you think you would have a working brain in that melon you call a head and not come here and attack strangers for having a differing point of view than yours. You are sick minded and give MuggleNet a bad name. This is a place for fun, not a place to be attacked. My guess is you cant handle people picking on Emmas new do and its flipping you out to the maximum becasue no self respecting human being would come on here and trash another in tha manner that you have. Atleast the rest of us can exhibit self control and not wigg out on the other people here for having a different point of view. In the grand scheme of life does it really matter that i think her hair is a bit too short? No, but the fun of it is we can leave our opinion if we feel like it. You have no warrant here to demean other people just because you think so highly of yourself. Hopefully you will be banned. And soon. No one and I mean No one deserves to come on to a website and be harrased for their opinions. You are a sick human being Greg Porter. P.s. Thankyou Pantera 2012.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 14:08:39
Also the beauty of it is you have so generously slandered a total stranger on a public forum that is logged and recorded. You have been reported and the law doesnt allow people like you to go unprosecuted. And I will exercise my rights to the fullest. This is a poor day to be Greg Porter. Im sorry but I dont back down to internet Bullies.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 15:23:52
At first i didnt like it all, i was like what did she do to her beautiful hair? But now its growing on me, i kind of like, its sporty and chic, and she can definetly pull it off. I still like her better with long hair, but thats probably because I have to get used to the new do. If i were her Id cut it off into a new hairstyle as well. That must feel great for her.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 19:05:40
Poor O0Amy0o. At least Emma is a world-known millionaire actress, already extremely succesful in college, a beautiful, very admired young woman, whereas only God knows who 00Amy0o is... yeah, im sure youre right, she must be so bummed about her haircut, im sure shed prefer to be an invisible no-one like you...
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 19:16:48
I really miss her long hair. It was so incredibly gorgeou. I dont know why she would want to cut it all off. Her face is adorable, but she is going to be going to all the Deathly Hallow premieres with short hair... She just wont look like Hermione anymore:(
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 19:21:52
sorry, i meant gorgeous. lol
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 21:34:59
well, that's one way to separate herself from hermione! she looks super cute. she is so right in saying "i knew everyone was going to have an opinion". she can do whatever the h*ll she wants, so it's kind of annoying when people are like "omg why did she make such a terrible mistake what an idiot" - it's her head, not ours! she is the one who has to look at herself in the mirror every day, so if she likes it, that's all that should matter. i think it looks really cute, but honestly it doesn't matter WHAT i think, or what anyone thinks except her.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-08 23:35:20
I think that it looks pretty bleck. D: Why, Emma!!!? WHY?!

Some news:
Emma Watson has been replaced as the face of Burberry by model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
Daniel Radcliffe is dating Olive Uniacke, the stepdaughter of ‘Harry Potter’ producer David Heyman.

Ok, here's my thoughts: If she likes it, then great, it would suck to be stuck with the same hair style for 10 years. Personally, I'm not a huge fan but it wasn't my decision and of course she still looks gorgeous so if she's happy then way to go! Besides people I'm sure she'll let it grow out a bit and it'll be longer by the premiere. ANd she's not the first person to do it, remember Natalie Portman a few years back in that Mr. Magorium movie or whatever it was?
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-09 13:30:32
She's still extremely beautiful, even without her long hair. But I still prefer it long. I LOVED her long curly hair, I wish I had it. :(
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-09 14:54:34
i really like it, but i think it looks better longer. she's still extremely beautiful. and i still love her for what she's done.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-09 15:30:32
Wow That's really different. She's a beautiful girl and i personally liked her longer hair better but when it comes down to it's her hair and she can finally do what she wants with it.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-09 15:56:18
Wow I was shocked to see she had cut her hair. It's not my style but Emma can do what ever she wants with her hair and I won't complain. Emma I'm so proud that you are taking a leap. I'm sure it was frustrating when you couldn't cut your hair when you wanted a change while filming Harry Potter. It looks cute on Emma and I might suggest it to some of my friends when they feel like going short.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-09 17:15:33

Hey Luna Lestrange!!!!! This is Stephanie!!!!!!

Hi HPfan111. I wanna go on Forbidden Journey again! Anyways, I dont like it. she looked alot better with long and curly hair. I know its a pain sometimes because my hair is the same way, but she looked so good with it.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-10 16:51:15
I definitely like longer hair on Emma... But she looks insanely like my sister like this...
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-11 01:53:02
She's absolutely adorable no matter how she wears her hair. For those who liked her hair long, grow up, it's not your hair. And the curly hair was done with a curling iron and it was never as bushy and uncontrollable as I always imagined Hermione's hair to be. Emma's hair was always straight. The short style becomes her and as it was pointed out previously, it will always grow back if she wants it to. Besides there are always wigs for any future roles she cares to take. Other actresses do it.

Personally I'm not even going to say if I like it or not since really... why does my opinion matter? All I have to say is GO EMMA!!! lol! I'm so proud of her for taking the step to experiment with her hair and not caring what everyone will think of it. That takes courage for someone in her position, with so many eyes on her :) And really, honestly, don't you have to just try something to know if you'll like it? If she hates it... it will grow back, easy! And if she loves it and keeps it, more power to her :)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-12 16:49:46
I'm not saying that I absolutely hate her new haircut, but I admit that I liked it better when it was long. I hope she does grow it out again.

You're obviously very upset by what I said, O0Amy0o. That's funny.
I look forward to "the law" coming after me for flaming you on the internet. Oh, and for the record, I am entitled to my opinion because I am always correct. Just ask Jesus, he'll vouch for me.

O0Amy0o and Greg Porter, can you please just stop this conversation? You both have different views okay, and feel free to say whatever you want about Emma's hair and to disagree with people. But can you please put a stop to this discussion between you two because it's just childish bickering.
Now to Emma's hair, wow! I really like it! It took some getting used to and I couldn't believe it when I heard she cut it off, but it's still gorgeous, not that this even matters. If you look at this link, http://www.metro.co.uk/showbiz/839291-emma-watson-did-harry-potter-steal-her-style you can see Emma being *herself*, not who anyone else wants her to be. It doesn't matter how good she looks, yet the media have a different opinion on this. She's still the same person, and the inside should count more than the outside :) And at least she's now showing that she ISN'T Hermione, and is her own person :)

i luv her new haircut. i think that after ten years with the same hair style, she deserves to experiment a little, seeing as her never got to before. i think she is rocking that haircut.

I don't particularly like it. I don't think it works with her face shape and bone structure. But if she likes it, then fine...at least she didn't go naked on Broadway.

I hate it, but if she wants to expariment, that's her decision

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-30 15:36:06
i don't like it...she looked much better with her long hair. but if she likes it then great.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-30 15:58:30
I hate it, just like most other people. She looks way better with long hair!

Makes me scream every time I see it. And now it's on every Mugglenet page... SOP COMMENTING ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am NOT over the shock yet. I prefer her long hair. She still looks georgous, but i guess i'm very attached to her "Hermione" look. It kinda makes me sad to realize that she's done with Hermione. Idk why, but this haircut just seems to finalize it for me.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-30 21:49:58
She´s a pretty girl but she just looks like Anna from the series "V" of Warner channel. She was prettier with long hair!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-30 22:09:28
I'm glad that she did this! For all of you teenagers out there, did you ever expirement with YOUR hair? Well, Emma couldn't. I'm very proud that she did something memorable after HP filming wrapped up. For you haters out there, it's Emma's decision, NOT YOURS!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-30 22:11:07
@Alan Rickman/Severus Lover I agree! I think the shock is mostly because we were used to her "Hermione" hairstyle for the past 10 years.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-31 04:44:37
Alan Rickman/Severus Lover & Brian, Precisely. This does indeed finalize the 'end' of Hermione :( And as you grow attached to Hermione, her hair becomes part of the attachment and now it's gone - well it's a big shock.

OMG WHAT WAS SHE THINKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!IT LOOKS INSANE!!!!!WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BEAUTIFUL LONG HAIR?????!!!!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-31 07:07:36
@Alex B., DH filming is finished. :'(

I don't know why people are making a big deal about it.... who cares what her hair looks like... if she wants to have really short hair, give her a break she's had long wavy hair for like 10 years... no change ever, she just did it for some change. besides the hair will grow right back in a year or so, and if she cuts it again... people will just get use to it and say "hey do you remember when she had long hair?"
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-31 12:11:21
She's beautiful either way. I loved the long hair but she looks great regardless. I just think it was too soon, not in terms of Harry Potter, but in terms of her age. She looks A LOT older now. But hey, whatever she wants! It'll help her career.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-31 18:39:01
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH what has she done? i mean shes OK but only OK THIS IS A TRAGITDY
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-31 18:39:10
I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE DID THAT!!! And according to the poll at the top, 49% like it, and 50% don't! That's pretty much 50/50, so it's really just a matter of opinion. It does make her look a lot more mature... But WOW I can't believe she got it all cut.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-01 09:59:05
I guess her haircut ok... but I def. liked longer
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-01 11:12:20
I guess that it's her hair but now she cant do anything with it. That kinda sucks.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-01 15:15:00
I think its cute. She's shedding her childhood in a way lol. IT's like keeping hermione with the harry potter times and now that its over she can let hermione always be remembered with harry potter and she can cut her hair off. Emma watson is free but Hermione will always have long hair lol. so stop trippin
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-01 18:11:57
i liked it better short but if emma is happy then i guess i can live with it
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-01 19:19:17
Hmmmmmmm.............I don't know what to think. I mean, Emma's "Hermione" haircut was AMAZING--I loved it! ;) However, Emma *is* very good-looking, so I think she can rock practically any cut. This news story is alright. ;)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-01 19:32:16
she looks older I dont like it... I want the long hair back
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-02 10:47:47
i think it looks cute, she can definitely pull it off. I did like the long hair though, i don't know which i like better. Whatever floats her boat.

Emma is a beautiful young lady that any hair style would look fantastic on.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-02 19:20:29
I liked it better long, yet still im jealous that emma can work any haircut
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-02 23:01:13
Love the hair! But, I will miss it long!!!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-04 11:36:33
So cool. I would hate having the same style for ten years.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-04 11:54:24
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Long pretty hair don't gooooooooooooo!
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-04 15:08:21
While it's not my favorite look on her, I applaud her for doing something so bold :) I think she looks very mature as well.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-04 19:04:33
I think it's Emma's hair, and she can do what she wants to it. If she loves it, good for her! I think the reason most people don't like the look is because it's not *hermione's* hair. Emma can do what she wants, and I think she pulls it off quite nicely. She looks gorgeous either way.

Emma Watson will always be beautiful to me no matter what. I know what it feels like to expiriment with your hair like that and it really does feel liberating.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-05 20:58:23
I love it and I hate how people are saying she "ruined" her hair. Cutting hair isn't ruining it, it's changing it. I think it's beautiful, and only shows how much of an individual she is, if she's secure enough with herself to make such a dramatic and daring change. I love it, and I will always love her style choices :)
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-10-15 18:44:52
I think it really suits her. I think that she made a good decision because she's going to university now and she doesn't want fingers pointed at her every five seconds and people saying "That's Hermione Granger!" People who are saying that she made a mistake are being immature and stupid.
Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-11-27 22:37:31

Eww. I hate it. It's WAY too short. She looks like a boy. But whatever its her hair, she can do what she wants with it. If she likes it than whatever. but she shouldn't have to feel like she needs to change her identity or anything. Her long hair is really pretty.
