Hedwig needs to be killed!
I prefer the idea of Harry letting her free, then she dies.

We've just received a nice treat from Warner Brothers! Nine high-res stills from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1. These were first seen in the most recent issue of Entertainment Weekly. Enjoy!

- Harry says goodbye to Hedwig
- The Death Eaters at Malfoy Manor
- Hermione hands Harry 'Life and Lies'
- Xenophilius on the steps of his home
- Hermione sets up protection charms
- Harry slides and reaches for something
- Ron and Harry on the lookout in London
- Ginny and Harry kiss
- Harry and Hagrid on the motorbike

On Hedwig's Departure: The image depicting Harry letting Hedwig fly away included the following description from WB: "Everyone mounts up and leaves Privet Drive. Harry says goodbye to Hedwig." So this does confirm that Harry lets Hedwig go prior to his departure.

Some MuggleNet readers are saying a leaked copy of the script reveals that Hedwig flies back to save Harry during the Seven Potter fights, and THEN she gets killed as she protects Harry. Thanks to Alex from TheRemembrall.org!

Incredible!! Gives me chills.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:15:08

I think the Xenophilius picture is from the explosion and it's nice to see Hermione's hands bloody again.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:17:18

Love the one of Hagrid and Harry racing through Privet Drive :D Holy crap Hermione's hands are more bloody than I thought :O YAY! :D

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:19:10

Finally! Bloody hands! :D I am really excited for this film...these pictures are just making me freak out. A lot. My family is scared x) Lets hope WB feels like being nice to us and releases some more stills :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:19:58

WAIT WHAT. HEDWIGS NOT DYING?! No. NO. NO WAY. D:

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:21:10

So Hidwig not sacrificing herself for Harry's not good enough... I'm upset it's not in the film. It does not change my opinion on the film though.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:22:55

Yes! Im glad they kept the bloody hands but no Hedwig dying?! What the hell is that all about?! I still can't wait to see it but I don't understand why they had to change it.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:23:02

The one of the Death Eaters is freaking awesome! Exactly how I pictured it in the book.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:23:10

YYYEEEEEEEEESSS!!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:23:50

These pics are great but....HEDWIG DOESNT DIE! WHAT! HOW COULD JO LET THAT BY! COME ON YOU HAVE TO BE TRUE TO THE BOOKS FOR DEATHS OF IMPORTANT 'THINGS' LIKE HEDWIG! THIS IS LIKE SAYING VOLDEMORT IS GONNA BECOME NICE AND EVERYONE LIVES HAPPILY EVER AFTER!!! Im very upset over this! Like are you serious?!?!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:23:54

The one of the Death Eaters is freaking awesome! Exactly the way I pictured it in the book.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:23:59

THE BIRD MUST DIE.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:26:14

You know. To make Hidwig's death more special she flies out of nowhere saving Harry.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:26:54

Great stills, but I'm sorry to hear that Hedwig doesn't die. Not that I wanted her to die at all, but I hate that they altered that detail from the book. I thought Harry losing his childhood companion was symbolic for his loss of innocence.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:27:34

No!! The whole point of Hedwig dying in the book was to symbolize the loss of Harry's innocence as a child, and becoming an adult and facing more serious things. D<

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:29:36

Lol at the poll (Hedwig needs to be killed!). It sounds harsh but its true, Hedwig's death is almost like Harry's loss of innocence. Throughout his stay at the Dursley's, she had been his companion and his only connection to the magical world. Her death impacts him and is kind of a wake-up call that things are different, that Voldemort and all the terrors he unleashes are really back. Anyway, glad to see these still in hi-res. I will most definitely be saving these to my computer.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:29:37

EVERYONE: Hedwig DOES DIE in the movie! Mugglenet is not being very accurate, because didn't David Heyman or someone mention that she dies because she flies in front of Harry to protect him during the 7 Potters? She gets killed by the Avada Kedevra curse.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:29:46

I think that they thought him physically send Hedwig off showed a maturity and letting his childhood go/innocence go better visually. Sometimes we have to remember that certain things are different in the movie where we can read the running thoughts and commentary in Harry's head. So I can understand why they might see this as better... and I highly doubt they will change any other deaths. Every other one is legitimately crucial but I think the way they do this is interesting. Plus Hedwig's death didn't actually protect him, it was the wand lore. Though I still kind of wish it was the same as in the book.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:29:59

The Xenophilius picture looks so funny. WTF is with the Hedwig pic and Harry letting her free. Jo killed the owl off for a reason! (though I don't really know what the reason is) WB stop making me mad! Dan looks like he's having a blast on the motor bike, lol. The one where Harry slides and reaches for something , I was like holding out my hand and reaching out for him, any one else did that, or am I just werid, lol. Yeah, the Death Eaters one is freakin' awesome!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:30:15

It looks really good!! But it doesn't look good that already we know something they changed from the book...I really had high hopes that these would be the movies that would have it perfect. But if this means, perhaps keeping a more important scene and loose the death of Hedwig, then I suppose it would alright.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:30:15

But maybe hedwig comes back, and then she gets killed. Pets always come back. I just really hope so, HEDWIG HAS TO DIE...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:31:10

Yeah bloody hands!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:31:37

ANDREW SIMS OF MUGGLENET YOU ARE WRONG!! HEDWIG DOES DIE IT'S BEEN APPROVED ALREADY!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:32:12

I'm kind of disappointed that Hedwig won't die, but sort of glad at the same time...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:32:15

#1 yay the pics are up!! #2 i dont think hedwig *should have* died! if hedwig were alive i think harry should let her ago when hedwig is ready.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:32:17

How does the quote from Warner Bros. confirm that Hedwig doesn't die? It just says that he says goodbye to her. The picture (with a bit from the MTV teaser) just shows that he lets her fly off first. In the script that was leaked a while ago Harry says that Hedwig dies trying to protect him. I though it was assumed that Harry first lets Hedwig go, but she returns to protect him and dies a heroic death. Am I missing something?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:32:20

SOMEONE NEEDS TO TELL ANDREW SIMS THAT HEDWIG DOES DIE! Im gonna email him..

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:32:40

@Kimiski.. i totally agree. i was in the book for a reason just like everything else. i did shed a tear for Hedwig because she has been with Harry since the beginning and represented his only friend when he had to go back to the Dursleys. it was a sad moment when Hedwig died and it was very important in that Harry was losing one of his EARLIEST friends, and that his innoncence and childhood went with her. it is a great moment of sybomlism.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:33:00

Mugglenet, you really shouldn't be arrogant enough to come up with that kind of conclusion. Especially considering YOU'RE WRONG! If you read any of the real script leaks online (one of them from the Seven Potters scene) you'd know that Hedwig is indeed let go but she returns during the Seven Potters scene and saves Harry by diving in front of him and taking the AK curse. SHE DOES DIE. Just a little differently. So I suggest you edit this post or else you'll just spread false information around the web that will just create more unnecessary fan hate towards the movie.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:34:23

Well, it would be kind of cool if Hedwig swoops in and saves Harry--after all, it would be a more heroic death than in the book, where she's just sitting there and is killed.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:34:37

And didn't hedwig give the real harry away in the leaked script

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:34:44

As much as I wish Hedwig didn't die in the book, he CANNOT simply just let her go! She should die, just like she did in the book! :(

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:36:02

@Leo Castro: Is there a link to the leaked script?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:36:08

That quote doesn't prove anything. How many times did we talk about that script leak? Well if you didn't know, he does let Hedwig go, but she comes back and protects Harry from a flying curse. That is how the Death Eaters find out that he is the real Harry. It's true because that script leak came out in April. The first time we saw Harry releasing Hedwig was in the MTV movie awards trailer that was released in MAY. So that description that came with this photo doesn't prove anything.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:36:15

HEDWIG HAS 2 DIE!! tht is what happens to her and tht is wut has to happen. maybe they r just doing this because the theme park thinks tht if she dies in the film, some ppl won't want to but their hedwig merchandise. just a guess!! then again, maybe they WILL still kill her, just at a different time.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:36:20

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! In the words of the Mugglecasters: The bird must die. It's not canon. And that's a huge factor in the books, I can understand them leaving out other canon stuff, but this is huge. :( oh well.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:37:29

Why is it so damn difficult to give Narcissa all blonde hair like in the book. ARGH, it would help the family resemblance with her son and create a greater contrast with Bellatrix! Her highlights look so stupid.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:37:29

Someone email Andrew or something and tell him he's wrong and misleading people. Ugh, this is why Mugglenet is the worst Potter site. They know nothing. All they do is post whatever news is popular and usually post late.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:38:16

Great stills. Well, I can't pretend I'm not disappointed with Hedwig not dieing, but it's not something that's going to ruin the movie, so oh well. Harry letting her go like this could easily be at least as emotional as it would be if they kept her death in the movie.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:38:50

The owl must die.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:40:13

I love the stills, though. Xeno Lovegood looks awesome :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:40:43

The Pictures are amazing. But Hedwig not dying is RIDDICULOUS. She NEEDS to die. It shows everyone how ruthless the Death Eaters are. But David FREAKING Yates has screwed up again. He decided to put in the burning of the Burrow scene in HBP, which NOONE cared about, and now Hedwig isn't dying. THANKS AGAIN DAVID FREAKING YATES FOR RUINING ANOTHER HARRY POTTER MOVIE!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:42:24

I am emailing Andrew Sims of Mugglenet because THIS IS WRONG. Hedwig DOES DIE because she takes the Avada Kedevra curse to protect Harry! And that is how the DEATH EATERS know it's the REAL HARRY! Understand people, so be happy! Hedwig does die.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:44:26

These pictures are great! I hope we get to see more stills in these next couple of months. I really hope that they decided to kill Hedwig other wise the symbolism goes away! I'm still super excited for the movie though!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:44:45

I don't think J.K Rowling would approve of hedwig not dying its such a significant part in the book. She must die at some point in the chase

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:45:50

The damm bird MUST DIE!!!!!!!!!! DAMM YOU WARNER BROTHERS. WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:46:20

Possible spoiler alert: I don't believe this "confirms" that Hedwig doesn't die. Regrettably, I did catch the leaked script (which claims that Hedwig does die) and whether that is real or not, WB said "Harry says goodbye to Hedwig," they didn't say "This is the last shot of Hedwig, Hedwig never comes back, Hedwig does not die." Be smarter, Mugglenet, your claim is a huge stretch (and I hope its not true).

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:48:10

Umm... I'm kinda happy that the bird doesn't die, because I loved Hedwig and everything.. but she should die!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:48:30

THE LEAKED SCRIPTS: http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/45364570.html Hedwig does die protecting Harry.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:48:47

The pictures are cool. BUT WHAT THE HELL YOU HAVE TO KILL THE BLOODY OWL. Hedwig represents harry child hood ending. Now he has to go on this dark quest. Very bad in my oppoion.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:49:09

The pictures all look fantastic! And Hermione's bloody again!! Yay!!! Everything looks really great. Hedwig being released early... if she comes back and saves him I'll be perfectly okay with that and it will be amazing. i hope they do kill the bird. As sad as it is. I'm not going to get mad at anyone or complain about anything until I see the movie and see how everything works out. Which I'm sure it will.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:49:11

Oh, I hope that Hedwig comes back during the 7 Potters scene. Her dying is symbolic of Harry's childhood and innocence leaving, as a couple of people have said above. It would be pretty nice, now that I think about it, having Hedwig swoop out and save Harry. It'd be pretty beautiful actually. Well, this confirms that I'll probably be close to crying throughout a lot of the two movies. And anyway, I don't think Jo would approve of her not dying, either. As MuggleCast put it back in June, "'You must. Kill. The owl.'"

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:49:22

I knew Hedwig wasn't going to die after they showed the MTV footage. It is annoying that they changed it, but I'm still incredibly excited for the film and the pics are great!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:49:39

@brendan--do you know if hedwig was delivering a letter or something?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:49:44

Even though I would love hedwig to not die, it happens in the book and I would rather see it happen. You never know. There is gonna be much speculation from now until the release. Everyone just needs to relax for now cause we don't know for sure. I want truth to the book. Seeing Hedwig die is a part I was looking forward to. It's a big scene. It should be in it.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:51:13

Hedwig is not going to live. She is going to return to take a spell to save Harry.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:51:15

All this rage towards the owl, lol. I wouldn't mind if Hedwig lives... Dobby dying is enough for audiences, and Dumbledore's death is symbolic of the whole coming of age thing by itself. I kinda felt that the killing off of incredibly random side characters (while keeping the majority of main characters alive) got out of hand in Deathly Hallows. Hedwig's death seems like the most random.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:51:38

THE LEAKED SCRIPTS: http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/45364570.html Hedwig does die protecting Harry.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:52:01

I hope that this harry sending an RSVP to the wedding. IF heyman said they were going to be faithful to the book for these last two films, HEDWIG NEEDS TO DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:52:08

I am very happy to see some pictures, and about time we saw something from Part 1. I mean, throw the fans a bone, Warnes Bros! One thing I noticed is the very full moon with Harry and Hagrid on the motorbike. How will Lupin participate in the Battle of the Seven Potters? They can't cut him out of that scene, he's too important. That's where Harry finds out that Lupin and Tonks got married.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:52:20

Oh, and as for the other pictures, I LOVE the one of Xeno, haha :) I hope Rhys Ifans does him justice. And I think the one of Harry reaching for something might be him at the Lovegood's reaching for his wand, perhaps? Just a thought.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:52:43

Yeah you guys I'm pretty sure Hedwig does still die. If she does indeed fly in front of Harry to save him, it will still have the same point and significance as in the book, but it will give Hedwig more credit and make the scene a bigger deal. so if she does die this way, it's probably an improvement from the book. With all the scenes that I originally thought would be cut but have now been confirmed, such as mundungus fletcher, I think David Yates might finally be getting this right. The only thing I have left to be upset about now is the crappy 3D thing.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:52:45

@Leo Lovegood: Thank you, and you are so right. At least they edited this post.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:53:05

Lovegood doesn't look at all like I imagined him, but the house looks perfect! I think Hedwig's death is really important, but it couldn't be done the same way as in the book. The idea of Harry setting her free to keep her safe, then her dying to save him is a lot more dramatic, and would work a lot better on camera. Plus it's an easier way of explaining how the Death Eaters knew which was the real Harry! I have faith that the guys at Harry Potter HQ know exactly what they're doing :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:53:21

Hermione's wearing the Slytherin Locket!!! SO COOL!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:53:40

Hedwig DOES die! Just read this: http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/45364570.html Look at the date this leak was posted. Its March 27, 2010. Now look at the day the MTV movie awards clip was released. It was June 6, 2010. What does that prove, well it proves the script is real cause how would they know Harry lets Hedwig go just to die later if we never seen a clip of it until the MTV trailer. Mugglenet guys need to edit this post, ASAP, cause all its doing is causing unnecessary hate towards WB and the Movie.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 17:54:59

@leolovegood THANKS SO MUCH! now i know. I guess Hedwig WAS delivering a letter.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:01:28

Good, Andrew changed the description!! Now we can all not sit around and yell at Andrew and MuggleNet. :-)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:03:26

WRONG! Hedwig does die! The MTV trailer in June confirms the script leak in March where it is stated that Hedwig flies in front of Harry to protect him. JESUS STOP FREAKING OUT!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:03:34

I think I will be twice devastated if Hedwig dies in the film now that they have given me the hope of NOT seeing her die. The release of Hedwig is cinematicly appealing and will convey Harry's choice in letting go of his childhood and becoming an active fighter in this war. And I really, really hated when she died in the book. But I am also one of the HP weirdos who hates the seventh book so bring on the changes Yates and company!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:04:50

HEDWIG MUST DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:04:59

Harry grins triumphantly when...a mad volley of WAND BLASTS ricochet off the motorbike and Hedwig is gone. Harry glances about desperately, when: DEATH EATER That's him! The real one!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:05:46

The comment I just posted proves that Harry lets Hedwig flee, but Hedwig ends up dying anyways saving Harry.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:05:49

There have been two parts of the 7 Potter script that leaked on IMDb by user Phoenix123 and he is legit because he once posted accurate parts of the Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince scripts. It has been confirmed that Harry lets Hedwig go in the movie (as in the picture) and then during the 7 Potters sequence she flies in front of Harry protecting him from a spell - which turns out to be the Avada Kedavra curse and kills her. Then the Death Eaters know "that's the real one!" (the real Harry). Here are the two small parts of the 7 Potters script that got leaked: http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/45364570.html SO HEDWIG DOES DIE! :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:05:50

Hmmm. I wonder if MuggleNet has another reason to believe Hedwig doesn't die than that caption to the picture? We need to know if WB has actually confirmed that Hedwig lives or if they're just going by the caption. No doubt Harry WAS saying goodbye to Hedwig at that moment, but it remains to be seen whether she will return during the 7 Potters (again, unless WB has confirmed she won't be back). Boy, I just don't know what I want to happen. Part of me looks at that picture of sweet Hedwig and is so relieved that she can fly off and live a happy life, but my initial/gut reaction was to be upset they changed her fate. But boy would that be hard to watch...and I can see that they thought it might be too upsetting to actually see on screen. (It is different to read it rather than see it, let's face it.) If so, I can live with that change, but with reservations. We shall see....

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:07:16

Ahhh--and now I see the question mark at the end of the headline! ;-)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:07:23

I think it's important that Hedwig dies... despite how depressed I was when I read that she dies, it has to happen. Anyway, in the picture, doesn't she have a leather strap around her leg for letters? Maybe she's delivering a letter?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:09:24

I refuse to read any of the script leaks... even though I know what will happen in the film, lol. As for Hedwig... umm, I think she's delivering a letter. Hence the leather strap around her leg. :( Hedwig. I had a fit when I read that she died in DH. Anyway, great stills. They've made my morning.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:10:09

Oh and what did they do to Nacissa Malfoy's hair?!?!!??

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:10:12

I think Hedwig sacrificing herself for Harry would be extremely moving. It would show the difference between Harry and Voldemort. Harry has people(and birds) in his life that would make the ultimate sacrifice. None of the Death Eaters, except maybe Bellatrix, love Voldemort enough to jump(fly) in front of a killing curse.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:11:16

One last thing: whatever happens in the movie, I am so glad she is not trapped in her cage, all depressed, and then stuffed into that sidecar! I never liked that. At least this way she will have a much grander exit. And no doubt it will still be an extremely emotional good-bye IF (yes, IF!) she doesn't die.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:13:06

LOL HE CHANGED THE TITLE YAYY. And that's definently confirmed: Hedwig gets a plot change and the suggestion is, is that she dies protecting Harry - ah, I love it! :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:14:28

in harry potter and the half blood prince death eaters destroy the Burrow...so where are they gonna have the wedding???

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:16:30

I wish they could have stayed more with the book by having Hedwig die as in the book. Also, I really like the picture with Lovegood in front of his house. Harry is getting a little scruffy!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:19:27

I'm happy that Hidwig does in deed die because if she didn't it would the the first time I would have been dissapointed in a Harry Potter film. I don't care for the little changes like Nacissa Malfoy's hair. As long as the movies are good I'll continue to like them.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:20:37

Leo_Lovegood: Mugglenet is the BEST harry potter site, and if you dislike it so much why come on the site and comment on news. Maybe they didn't know about the scripts being leaked until everyone on here started saying it over and over. give them a break. they know more about whats going on then all of us.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:22:25

I'm just really curious as to what kind of explanation there going to give us. WHY WOULD HARRY GET RID OF HEDWIG? He just decided that he no longer wanted to own an owl anymore? I really want to understand why Harry would let Hedwig go in the first place.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:24:04

Severusalways, they fix the Burrow.. It not like the fire was cursed fire. Just regular fire that they can make repairs easily.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:24:56

@severusalways a set visit photo was released of the wedding tent in the Burrow fields. Also, it was said that the Burrow was repaired by magic. One if the just released images showed H/G kiss in the burrow

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:27:13

is that a full moon in the background in the harry and hagrid pic? does that mean lupin won't be there?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:27:20

@Severusalways. They hold it standing up using magic so I think they can just repair it.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:27:41

Hedwig doesn't need to die. She's still leaving. I think Hedwig met an unnecessarily brutal end. She was hit with a killing curse and then BLOWN UP! Poor Hedwig. She deserves to just fly away in the movie. She's still DEAD in the book. :(

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:27:47

The "Harry slides and reaches for something" photo has to be in the Lovegood's house. The wall behind him is all curved!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:29:14

@Ashly: To protect Hidwig. What he's about to do is very dangerous and Harry does not want to see Hidwig hurt. Kind of like how Harry broke up with Ginny in Half Blood Prince. But more personal. Then when Hidwig does die it makes her death much more powerful.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:29:21

Hopefully we'll se Hedwig die in the upcoming trailer. I think it'd be better to prove Hedwig's love for Harry. Harry wouldn't just let Hedwig go without Hedwig doing anything special for Harry. In SS Harry's with Hedwig in the courtyard and it's a beautiful scene. Now it's coming to an end. Hedwig should sacrafice herself!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:30:14

@Ashley: he lets her go because he loves her. If he lets her go she is safe

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:30:18

Hedwig has to die! Its certainly sad, yes, but thats the point! This isn't a cheery, kiddie film, it's full of action, fighting and, well, deaths. i want the movie to do the book justice, and if Hedwig dies saving Harry, I wouldn't mind. Harry would never set Hedwig free. If she hadn't died, he would have ethier brpught her along with them on the horcrux hunt, or he would have left her with Ginny or another Weasley so they could take care of her. He wouldnt just release her into the wild, that doesnt make sense. anyway I love Hedwig, but I hope they stay true to the book and that she dies. Cant wait for the movie, and as for the other pics, great stills

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:31:31

thnx to everyone who helped me understand what happened to the burrow...and Hedwig does die when she returns to save harry during the seven potters scene

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:34:01

@Sana. I noticed that too, but I think it's just a plothole by the filmmakers. If there was a full moon, poor George would be in danger of more than a missing ear.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:37:31

Okay, I can't take this ANYMORE!!!!!! I am FED UP with how Mugglenet DOESN'T know of these things, WHEN I DO!!!! HEDWIG WILL DIE!!!! I have proof, this is the answer to what's going to happen to Hedwig and other stuff: http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Harry_Potter_and_the_Deathly_Hallows:_Part_1 http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Harry_Potter_and_the_Deathly_Hallows:_Part_2 There, now. This is what's going to happen; Harry realses Hedwig, then Hedwig saves Harry's life, sacrificing herself to save Harry while Harry has his little conflict with Stan Shunpike!! Read it and weep!! END OF STORY, GOOD BYE, THE END!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:38:18

Yeah, those are all very valid points. For Hedwig to die protecting Harry while he is trying to protect her at the same time is very sad :(

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:39:48

Hedwig must die (no offense) they must follow what the book says, even though most of the time they don't.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:40:32

Guys, no matter what they do with the movie, Hedwig's fate will ALWAYS be what happened in the book. So all this nonsense about how she deserves to fly away and not die in the movie isn't her fate at all. That would just make the movie a lie. So if you are all happy about her living in the movie if she lives, then it still doesn't matter becuase you know what really happened to her. That is why I choose to believe that Harry lets her go, but she comes back and dies while saving Harry's life. I can't wait 'till the movie comes out!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:42:15

Lupin will be there. im sure they just werent thinkin about that when they put in a full moon ya know? Im glad hedwig still dies hah

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:45:26

Idc how they do it, but Hedwig has to die somehow. Love her, but she muct go.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:46:31

I love the shot with Bellatrix and the other Death Eaters, it makes me so freaking excited for the movie!!! It's gonna be sad to see Voldemort kill Charity Burbage though :(

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:46:55

As much as i hate to say it, hedwig has to die. Has to! If she doesn't come back to try and save harry and then dies, i will throw a fit. I love hedwig and would hate ti see her die, but she has to.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:47:27

though i hope they have hedwig die i understand why they would take it out as it might not come across right and look like harry's murdering her.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:54:21

All I'm saying is that there's this Harry Potter Wiki site which has the diff. from the books and THAT'S what says is gonna happen to Hedwig!! That and so much more!! Just put 'Harry Potter Wiki' in Goggle and it'll be the first thing that pops up!! From there, on the main site, look under 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt.1' and it'll have it under the 'Differences from the books'

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:56:48

OMG I think the picture of Harry reaching for something might be his wand when the snake is attacking him! And is DOES NOT look like a children's room, after all!!!! THEY MIGHT BE KEEPING TO THE BOOK WITH THAT SCENE, AFTER ALL!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:59:06

I don't think we should be worrying, Jo has to approve of the movie, right? Plus, all of this evidence we have all leads to one conclusion: Hedwig will die. I really don't want to see her go, but she has to!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 18:59:36

What!!!!!!!! No, Warner Bros. Stop making the films different from the movies! I know this sounds cruel, but Hedwig must die. It wouldn't be right if Harry just "let her free." More pics makes me even more PSYCHED for November! Whoooooooooooo! Xeno looks mighty creepy in that picture and (yay!) Hermione's hands are bloody again. Ginny and Harry forever... <3

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:00:49

Just seeing the look of resignation on Harry's face as he lets his dear childhood friend go, makes my eyes tear up! This will be a beautiful and touching symbolic scene!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:01:04

Per script leak, the scene where Harry uses 'Expelliarmus' on Stan revealing who he is is replaced by Hedwig flying in front of a curse sent for Harry, revealing that he is indeed the real Harry and they call Voldemort.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:04:50

^^ Yes, THANK YOU That's how it ALL goes down!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:05:00

One death I wouldn't mind if they changed was Hedwig's. Since you can get the same message that Harry is no longer a child, therefore all of the things related to his childhood: Privet Drive, the Dursleys, Hedwig, and etc. need to be let go, through Hedwig dying or by Harry letting Hedwig go. I don't think Hedwig HAS to die. Really, that had been the only unnecessary death in my eyes (as explained above).

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:05:46

It honestly sounds better than Hedwig just... riding along and getting hit with a curse. This will work better both cinematically AND dramatically. For one it will show how loyal Hedwig is to Harry, which is a running theme in the final book: so many characters defend and stand up for Harry, including Dobby, Neville, and practically everyone. I think it's a great change.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:09:51

@Brandon I totally agree. It's so much better than Hedwig dying for no reason at all.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:11:07

That's MY theory: Harry says goodbye to Hedwig (it'll be fondly sad), she flies away... ok (we know)... They're now wand-fighting in the air, and soon later Harry needs extra help and hears her flying back to scratch the Death Eaters' faces or something, in order to help him out bravely... Eventually she gets killed or whatever ¿? what do you think? it'd be a perfect end for Hedwig!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:11:20

I didnt want Hedwig to die but I want to the movie to be like the book. Even though I ♥ Hedwig. But I it is a good idea instead of Hedwig being killed.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:12:32

After thinking about it, I've changed my mind about Hedwig dying, she needs to. @Brandon I agree it's brilliant that they added it in, plus the "Why do you live?" scene, that was a genious move

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:13:29

Thing that grinds my gears though.. how did they know Hedwig was Harry's bird? Lupin explained that the reason 'Expelliarmus' was obviously his was that the Death Eaters where there when Harry used it against Voldemort in GoF.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:13:59

I am sort of worried either way about how it will look. I'm not saying it's amusing at all in the book when Hedwig dies, but I keep trying to picture it happening on-screen and it just doesn't work at all. On the flip side, Hedwig coming out of nowhere and taking the curse for Harry like a boss might look funny or amusing as well-- even though it's not funny at all, something like that will have to be handled 100% perfectly in order to not look silly. Thankfully I completely trust Yates with it.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:17:29

I think everyone wants the owl to bite the dust. :( It will be very moving and right off the bat the audience will get a feel of what this movie will be like, scary and unpredictable.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:20:05

What if Hedwig was flying along Harry, with the all too familiar "Hedwigs theme" playing in the background, but when she dies-it stops. So corny...but it's so cool...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:21:52

Mahtob: I'm pretty sure that would be the most hilarious thing of all time. When the film does come out I suspect there will be some funny Youtube videos, possibly a Rick Astley remix of Hedwig's death. I'm sorry, I feel dirty for talking about Hedwig's death like this, I'm done.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:22:01

I cried in the book when Hedwig died...I didn't want her to go. However, I am very upset that she isn't going to die in the movie. Oh well...I guess that is one less kleenex I need to take with me. LOL!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:24:14

Amber: she is going to die in the movie, just not how you're expecting ;)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:26:31

Mugglenet no longer says WB confirmed Hedwig does not die. READ THE POST BEFORE COMMENTING! Yes, Harry sets her free, but a script leak from a very reliable source back in March states she is indeed set free, but is killed in the cross fire protecting Harry. Again, PLEASE! Read the entire post before commenting.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:28:00

Deathly Hallows is not the type of book where you can have many plot changes, everything relates into the conclusion, everything. I'm a avid book reader, Deathly Hallows is a rare type of book that does that.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:31:58

Hedwig should definitely take the blow for Harry, it'd be the first indication that his close ones can/will die protecting him. I'd be sad to see the "bloody pigeon" die though.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:34:41

Love the bloody hands!!!! I can't wait.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:38:09

@Kyle Denny: That is why they are going to stick as much close to the book as possible. Please remember though there will be slight changes and scenes from the book Cut. It happens to EVERY adaptation. Honestly, I'm surprised that "The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore" subplot is not cut.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:42:05

@Brandon, it makes me feel horrible...but when I picture it I just cant stop laughing x)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:46:40

I'm kinda annoyed that Hedwig's not dying. I kinda laughed when she died, morbid as it sounds, because while reading, I thought "Wow, Hedwig's just gonna get in the way of everything, I wonder how that's gonna work ou-... Oh, she's dead". Oh well. Anyways, bloody hands probably means it'll have a PG-13 rating, which would be nice, it'll actually be more adult-ish, which it should be.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:55:18

She is going to die... ^^^

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:58:28

Im glad hedwig doesnt die... bt they shud be true 2 the bk

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:59:04

I agree with @Brandon. but if they do that, they wouldn't make it be funny. You know the epic, dramatic version of Hedwig's theme that is usually played in tne trailers while the logo appears? Well, it would be that music, the really slow and dramatic version, and then once Hedwig is killed, it'll suddenly get quiet and you'll see Harry all upset, and now with no music, it will make it more terrifying. I doubt that they will do that though.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 19:59:06

I really hope the trailer for part 1 is not during piranhas 3D movie. I did not want to see that!! It should play during vampires suck!!! Hahaha :D

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 20:06:30

@Luna Lestrange- LOL...I agree with you...It looks awful!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 20:06:31

It does not matter how Hedwig dies. It just matters THAT she dies. Her death sets Harry's outlook on the events to come.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 20:12:19

WHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYY DOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOUUUUUUUUUU PISSSSSSSSSSSSS MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE OFFFFFFFFFFFFF WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 20:12:36

Hedwig MUST DIE

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 20:14:14

@Azaria Magee- It HAS NOT been confirmed Hedwig is dying. Mugglenet called the shots too early. In fact, it have been all but confirmed she is from a scrpit leak last March. The leaked script was all but confirmed when the MTV trailer showed what the leak originally said (Hedwig being set free before leaving for the Burrow, only to be killed in the cross fire during the flight. PEOPLE. IT WAS A MISTAKE. STOP FREAKING OUT.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 20:14:23

None of you get it. Hedwig just dying in her cage is a bit anticinematic. Having her flying beside him works so much better.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 20:16:43

I'll be very upset if they choose not to have Hedwig die! I mean, it's not like I liked that Hedwig died in the book, but that starts off the movie showing and reminding everyone how all the people Harry loves is being/has been killed off because of the war with Voldemort. She needs to die, they need to stay true to the book.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 20:16:51

The 'Life & Lies' book reminds of the book 'Wicked'. And it's weird how there are similarities between both stories. Wonder if they did that on purpose...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 20:19:38

@ Duncan - I agree. Having her die to protect Harry is much better for the movie. I thought the anticlimatic-ness of her death (and others) was great as it showed how people REALLY die in war, that they don't get big epic deaths and last words. For the movie, however, i like it this way.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 20:22:13

@Jesse: The Life and Lies subplot actually comes a lot into play, because it's where Harry sees the picture of Grindelwald and learns about Dumbledore's connection to him. @Anna: It reminded me of Wicked too, that's the first thing I thought when I looked at it.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 20:37:54

I like the idea of Hedwig dying for Harry rather than accidentally being hit by a killing curse, however i do not understand what the point of releasing her would be, it makes no sense to me.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 20:41:55

The pix are amazing ! I am sooooo excited for the movie ! But Hedwig needs to die like it's in the book. I think that if Harry lets Hedwig go and she comes back to try and save Harry, I feel that people will focus on the sacrafice Hedwig tried to make for Harry and won't truly understand J.K. Rowling's purpose for killing Hedwig, which is to show the death of Harry's childhood.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 20:45:52

the pics are awesome....but why is harry saying goodbye to hedwig?!?!? the owl is suppose to die when they are trying to escape as the 7 potters in hagrid's flying bike (which was sirius')

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 20:50:54

i saved all of these pics and photoshopped the "it all ends here" from the original dh poster and added it to each of these pics, i am in turn going to rotate the pics as my desktop background.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 21:00:41

hedwig needs to die ! her death is a symbol for the end of harry's time at hogwarts ! although, i think it would be sadder if he let her free and then she died, rather than just in her cage

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 21:04:39

luna's dad's house looks likes he drew on it all over imagine if snape drew those pictures lol and hagrid looks really not like himself on that motorbike he looks.............different i dont want hedwig to die but if she did then i guess it would be better but sad and id start bawling in the movie theater then get kicked out when harry reaches for something that he really wants it looks like hes reaching for me sigh

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 21:06:33

Even though this is part of the trailer music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O02dHlK29zU who thinks it would be cool to have the drum beat in the first 5 secs to be a death eater about to cast the killing curse at harry then when the real music starts 5 secs in for hedwig to jump out of nowhere then from :5-:31 have harry telling hagrid to stop then from :31 to :55 have harid be knocked out and harry trying to take control on the bike and then the rest when he sees voldey and falls off. that would be EPIC they most likely almost positively WONT do that but who thinks that would be pretty cool?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 21:06:50

@Jennifer: Thank you. I agree with you wholeheartedly. Guys, the books and the movies are very different. In the novel, Rowling can use descriptors to help us realize the symbol that Hedwig represents. If Yates would have decided to translate it verbatim, the scene would have been clunky and emotionless. By showing Harry freeing Hedwig at Privet Drive and then showing her appear to his rescue when he's escaping with half of the Order and his friends, we realize the crucial, yet subtle, representation of Hedwig. Visually, it'll provide for more emotional storytelling and it will put the theme of "loss of innocence" at the forefront. I think this is a very wise move by the filmmakers. It's not exactly like the book, but I think it'll work better for the film adaptation.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 21:09:20

Why? Why do they have to change the story. I know that how Hedwig dies isn't a major plot point but still. The book is supposed to be sad and the way Hedwig dies in it is heartbreaking. Why do they have to change something that is already perfect?? I am concerned for the rest of the movie...How many of these "small" details did they change???

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 21:14:17

Yeah Hedwig had better come back during the seven potters and die. Its a very important part and whether or not you like the idea, it has to happen. Deathly Hallows would be very different if Hedwig didn't die.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 21:20:19

I would rather they completely took Hedwig out than not kill her.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 21:26:23

As much as I don't want Hedwig to die, I think she must. In the books, it kind of set up all the grief and death that was to come. Hedwig's death is really important, to me at least. I really hope they don't change the story.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 21:28:52

As much as I absolutely hate Hedwig dying, I think she must. Her death kind of set up all the death and grief that was to come later on in the book, and I really wish the script stuck to that. It may not be a major detail, but it is important to us fans.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 21:30:12

if hedwig come back to save harry that would be awesome and sad, oh i can imagine hedwig in slow motion, sad music, and harry trying to save him and then...bye bye harry gets mad omg so good this movie

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 21:32:05

Why would Harry say goodbye to Hedwig? she is suppose to die, this is totally dumb, there is not point of "letting her go" when she can simply just meet him at the Weasleys house then like she always does. that is totally ridiculously. I'm upset about that. I love Hedwig and of course I don't want her to die but she does. I don't understand why they have to change things why can't they just follow the damn book for once? now I'm nervous again, this movie better not be like the last one, whatever that one was... >:|

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 21:35:25

I think cinematically, that they wrote Harry releasing Hedwig to show the contrast between DH and PS that much more. We will all at one point think of the time when he was just 11 and out with Hedwig, letting her go to enjoy a flight. It was a beautiful scene, and the one on Privet Drive will bring it all back and how times have changed for him. Hedwig was killed so Harry would be able to be on the run without any reservation of where he was going, etc. Just like Jo had to get rid of Ron for a while so that Harry would bring his grief to the surface for his parents. He would not have cried at the graveyard if Ron was there, and he needed to.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 21:45:29

Wasn't the point of splitting the book into two movies to get everything into the movies?? WHY does WB feel the need to change things?? Especially a death. Do they not understand symbolism?? The death of innocence and purity that is hedwig? If that owl does not go, I'll be so annoyed. I think I may boo during the movie. It's Jo rowlings work, so they shouldn't just change things around. Gr.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 21:56:29

If you look at the sidecar, there's no way a bird cage could fit inside. That's why it was changed to Harry releasing Hedwig outside Privet Drive and then her getting killed in flight.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 21:56:29

WB is stupid. They need to kill hedwig. What would the point be to have her fly away, and then only be killed a few minutes later. Ugh!!!!!!!! Why can't WB just leave jo's work as it is?!?!?!?!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 22:07:28

I CANT WAIT!!!!! so sad with hedwig her final act might be to save harry, such a loyal pet. wish it was november

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 22:18:11

I almost feel bad about hoping Hedwig dies..... almost.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 22:18:38

I love the pictures. The one of Harry sliding on the floor looks like it could be from inside the Lovegood house.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 22:19:09

WOW you guys are all saying the same thing over and over and over...now that we have seen 15 million people say "oh man, i can't believe hedwig isn't going to die!!" and the other 15 million "she is! mugglenet is so wrong" blah blah blah...very repetitive...love the pictures! thanks mugglenet!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 22:32:30

They NEED to kill Hedwig (as bad as that sounds)! It's just how it's written! I know it's just one little detail, but it's still important to us HP fans!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 22:36:11

It doesn't really bother me how Hedwig will "depart". From a reader's stand point I just think that in general it would be much more moving if she had just died only because it represents Harry's innocence being torn and taken away from him. If he lets her go then it kinda shows that he's willing to give up his innocence, which isn't really the case. For once I think I'm just gonna cut Yates and Kloves a break and let this slide only cause it's not THAT much of a big deal. The other pics look great though. ICANTWAITTILLNOVEMBER19!!!! :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 22:43:49

As ASTOUNDING as this high-res photos are, the fact that they might not kill off Hedwig scares the Snape out of me. Now I LOVE Hedwig, and - as I'm sure many of you must feel - her death was one of the saddest and most tragic in the whole series. But her death has a place in the book, and that place is to start the chain of horrific events to come! It's an eye opener for Harry. He realizes here that he's an adult and is responsible for the actions of many wizards and witches following in his footsteps. When he was a child, Hedwig was the only thing keeping him tethered to the magical world while he was alone at Privet Drive. In this scene, Harry realizes with a BANG that this is sadly not the case anymore. Hedwig is an extremely important character, and her fate is a turning point in Harry's life and in the series. But great pictures, guys! ;)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 22:54:28

i cried just by seeing the pics of hedwig...if she dies or not it's going to be a total tear-filled moment for because of what happens in the books... if wb leaves it out it will be even sadder cuz they won't consider her importance :(

I know I should be happy to see these new pictures, but I WANT THE BIRD TO DIE AND THEN BE BLASTED APART!!!! There is a reason she dies in the book. Really, WB, really?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 23:10:44

Thank you WB for amazing high-res pictures! Love them and saved them all. I am alright with the whole Hagrid thing, honestly, whatever WB and the directors seem best is fine with me. I am so excited for this film!

Can't wait for it to come out

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 23:40:00

@Zach, Glad to see that someone here actually knows what's going on. Sometimes it is so hard to deal with these comments because the majority of people seem to be rash and misinformed ALL THE TIME. Note to everyone: It is important to read comments before you comment because maybe someone will actually answer a question for you or save you the trouble of freaking out. That is my rant.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 23:48:33

Cant wait UNtill NOVEMBER!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-16 23:56:31

I absolutely love what we see of the Lovegood house. I wonder how they're going to explain why Harry has to let Hedwig go? I don't like to think of how they are going to do that, but it would be very noble of her if Harry set her free and she came back to save him before she died. But have we seen enough of Hedwig for this to be emotional for strict movie fans? I don't remember seeing much of her in the later films.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 00:16:14

Let's be serious for a second here: Hedwig's death in the book was surprising, but certainly not the best way to convey any kind of symbolism or real meaning having her killed while inside of her cage. And while it works in the book, it would be much harder to properly show that and show it with a real sense of emotion and shock. IF HEDWIG LIVES, Harry letting her go (clearly with an anguished look on his face from the picture) symbolizes his "letting go" of his childhood and innocence in a very clear manner since we don't have access to his thoughts inside of his head and narrative as in the book, though its likely he will say a few words before he does so. IF HEDWIG DIES, then obviously she will fly back to sacrifice herself to save Harry during the flying battle--a much more movie-like, emotional, exciting, and ultimately sadder scene. PLUS, this would make the most sense for the Death Eaters realizing which is the real Harry since we're not going to see Stan Shunpike and thus Harry won't be saying "Expelliarmus!" towards Stan, which is what gives him away. It's unlikely that he will say this towards some other Death Eater as opposed to Stupefy. THUS, everyone stop freaking out. The filmmakers know what they're doing and JKR approves.

What Mike said

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 01:30:26

STOP BAWING "HEDWIG" MUST DIE, IT WILL DIE, BUT IN A MORE IMPORTANT WAY THAT IS SAVING HARRY, MAKING ITS DEATH SOMETHING WORTHY, NOT ONLY AN ACCIDENT!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 02:23:15

why do you want hedwig to die. we all know she will die just as @jeanne said trying to save harry and not by an accident

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 02:37:00

ok stop complaining everyone hedwig WILL die. harry will let her go tell her to meet him at the burrow or something then she will fly off and the audience will think that shes safe. harry will be chased by the death eaters and possibly when hagrid is out for the count (like we saw in that still a while ago) and harry is driving a death eater will cast the killing curse, harry wont be able to do anything while driving the bike and holding onto hagrid, he will watch helplessly as the green lights of death hurtle towards his face, thinking that this must be where he dies, then hedwig saves the day by swooping in and taking the hit, just like fawkes did for dumbledore in OotP (book). the death eaters will then realise that this must be the real harry cause his owl just died for him, then voldermort can have ago and be denied again.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 03:07:46

hedwig's death will be the first in the dh movies' it will be spectacular and sad as we all love her.i say this again she will die just a little diffrently than she did in the book to make it look good.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 03:21:49

I actually like the way in the book better for a couple reasons. Firstly it's so accidental. It happens almost immediately. It's not a brave or spectacular death. It is almost impossible to believe for those reasons that something that has been this stable in Harry's life is gone with the flash of a light. It's a rude awakening into the story, to show that NO ONE is safe. I hated her death so much but now I realize why J.K. Rowling wrote it that way. It's not all epic fighting and stuff in the real world. Sometimes, s**t happens. And that is just how it is. I understand for a movie why they would want to make it "epic" though, and I don't think it will make a huge difference but I just wanted to say that I think her "accidental" death actually had a lot of meaning to it.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 03:37:00

I love the new stills... but... WAIT! Hedwig has to be killed!!! @Jojoinpink54: You took the words right out of my mouth! I totally agree with you!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 03:44:57

AWESOME PICS!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 03:53:42

amazing <3

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 04:03:27

i love the pics but HEDWIG NEEDS TO DIE!!! if they wanna stay true to the book they must follow all the details as well!! i hated it when they didn't show dobby in the 4th movie and he was a crucial part of the story....... they should follow the book.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 04:08:34

I reckon Hedwig will die anyway - he has to because as JK explained, he is a part of Harry's childhood and in book 7 he turns into a man so has to lose everything that gives him a source of comfort. Morbid I know :/

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 04:27:19

I think hedwig will die when she tries to protect harry in the battle. That will be what makes them recognise the right harry because they never made it really clear that expelliarmus was harry's signiture spell. Also, what do you people think Harry is reaching for in the Lovegoods' house?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 05:44:57

oh man i can't wait. no matter if hedwig dies the way she does in the book or if harry just lets her go, i'm sure i will be bawling at that part anyway.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 06:15:37

I think its good if Hedwig sacrifices herself to save Harry because they have never shown how much Hedwig loves Harry in the movies and having Hedwig save him will show all non readers how much Hedwig cares about Harry.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 06:59:07

HEDWIG MUST DIE!! Wow, that sounds horrible.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 07:11:01

Thanks for the pictures!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 07:32:29

patience mugglenet she will die

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 07:50:49

You of all people, Fuckyou, are telling mugglenet to have patience? That's rich.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 08:05:22

lol its funny isn't we all want a bird to die, when we all read the book and came to the part wer hedwig dies i'm sure i'm not the only one who teared up a little. anyway the pics look amazing. the death eater one is great. malfoy looks terrified.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 08:07:25

I just remember really upset when Hedwig dies and I was really wishing that they wouldn't change too much in this film and then they go and do that. That makes me think of everything else they probably changed. I hope that were it ends.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 08:26:32

i hope they dont kill her on screen, that would be horrible to see, I wish everyone would stop moaning about she has to die blahblahblah we know she will die, WBs excuse for making the book into 2 films was because they wantd to portray the story accuratly I am pleased with the change we are asuming WB has made to the story it give alot more meaning to her death because it was lousy the way she died in the book just flitted away like a side charecter..

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 08:32:17

HOLY CRAP! Stop being so stupid! First, Warner Bros. does not do shit in the Potter films. The only thing WB does is pick the release dates, distribute the films, and what movies the trailer play in front of. If you are mad about the decision, blame the crew, not WB. The only thing noticeable they did was move the release date of Half-Blood Prince. Second, Hedwig will die. Read the entire description of the post before commenting, honestly.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 08:37:58

@Ullaandy170, Warner Brothers did not make that decision!!!!!!!! David Heyman, David Yates, STeve Kolves, and David Barron (executive producer) made that decision after asking JK Rowling. Stop saying WB does this, WB has no influence on the films whatsoever. They are studio, all they do is buy the rights and distribute them!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 08:46:16

I'm sure hedwig comes back an dies in the fight... And has anyone else noticed in the picture of the death eaters, Lucius taking out his wand to pass to voldemort ? ? Eeee :D

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 08:58:21

Just throwing this out there, I really want the yell at 1.29 in the latest trailer (which is pretty old now) to be Ron when he sees Harry's 'dead' body :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 09:01:51

Hmmm. It would be more moving to see Hedwig die rather than just being released, but who cares about little changes really, I'm more excited about these HIRES PHOTOS! God, they are so amazing. Death Eaters one is my favorite.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 09:02:11

whoo these pics are cool. i would like to see more Ron & Hermione pics but that means i get a surprise which is good. Loving these pics though i really can't wait to c the film. The wacky house of xenophilous is quite funny its also how i would picture Luna and his house.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 09:05:03

I love the pics! And the whole article in EW. But Hedwig???? I love her, but if she dies in the books she has to die in the movie! :(

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 09:06:54

I really hope that Hedwig does die in the film, because I hate it when they change things that were in the book. I don't mind if they leave some of the things out in the film, unless of course its something I feel should have been in the film. But changing things in the films annoys me because its not the true story. The books are always going to be the true story and I just wish that they would stick more to the books. Please kill Hedwig.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 09:17:01

@plumcake eh?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 09:39:47

no please don't stray from the plot of the book!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 09:52:04

These pictures are amazing! Although I WISH they would have killed hedwig, I almost think it was necessary for them not to kill her. Seeing an animal being killed on screen is much different than reading it in a book. I think by setting Hedwig free, it does SOME justice to the book, because the symbolism of childhood innocence is no longer present.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 11:23:15

NO NO NO NO NO!!!! STICK TO THE BOOK!!!! hedwig dies and thats that. there is no "well mabe she should survive"!!! and if they didnt change sirius's death they CAN'T CHANGE HEDWIG'S DEATH!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 11:40:57

People, it's called drama! Harry says good-bye to Hedwig... sad, dramatic moment. During the chase, it will appear like Harry is going to get hit with the spell... suspensful drama. And then Hedwig will come out of the blue to save him... more drama! It's a chance to build drama into the film - it shows the bond of friendship, sacrificing one's self out of choice, courage and bravery. Okay, that's a lot to project on an owl but with the Guardians of Gahoole coming out, it's not such a far stretch. My guess is that Hedwig still ends up on the Thanksgiving dinner table. You think Hedwig's agent is that good a negotiator, maybe petitionining for an offshot film series. Hedwig Hogwarts Adventures?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 12:11:56

Because of Mugglenet, WB removed the ONYD post with the Leaked script... At leasted I saved it beforehand :D

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 12:39:03

Hedwig's death was the most upsetting death for me and much as I would like her to be saved, Harry would never have let Hedwig just fly off and Hedwig wouldn't have gone. I suppose if she does fly back it won't be as bad a change but it just seems an unecessary one- it was a dramatic death anyway but its suddenness and impact on Harry.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 12:44:36

The movies have never kept a character alive that dies in the books. I think Hedwig, unfortunately, still meets her end. They probably just decided to let her die more heroically instead of just getting killed in her cage (which she hated) and then having Harry blow her up.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 12:49:41

What? No, the owl has to die. Hedwigs death shocked us all, and I really think it would be an insult to her memory if she didn't die the way it's written by JKR.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 13:06:12

people check this out, look what the wizarding world of harry potter has started! HP leads the way for all lol! according to IMDb:Bosses at Universal Studios are planning to follow up their Harry Potter theme park by opening another magical attraction, based on the Lord Of The Rings franchise, according to reports. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened in Florida this summer, with fans flocking to the resort to see recreated sets from the long running movie series, based on J.K. Rowling's hugely successful books. And now executives at the company are said to be working on plans to bring Middle Earth to life in a new Lord of the Rings resort, which will see fans of J.R.R. Tolkien's magical world walk among dwarves, elves, orcs and hobbits, according to Cinematical.com. Amazing what a little Harry Potter can do....

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 13:16:48

I know many of your are really upset because hedwig is not dying but jk rowling has gone on the record that the death of hedwig symbolizes the loss of childhood innocence. that is the ONLY reason i believe she chose to kill her in the first place. But i think for small children watching, the death of an animal just won't settle well. So I think that they did the best that they could. By releasing Hedwig in the wild, Harry loses his childhood innocence in the end too. Although it doesn't follow the book I feel that this is the best decision that they could have done.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 13:17:04

In the book: Of course the deatheaters know everything about Harry, including the expeliarmus curse and the bird. Each of the 7 potters got a fake white owl in a cage to make them look authentic. I thought it was strange - the notion of him ramming a birdcage at his feet in the side car though. While reading it, I also had to re-visit the fact that after she was killed in the book, and her lifeless body was at the bottom of the cage and falling to earth, Harry cast a spell at it. But the scene was so exciting and scary, her death happened so fast, and so much other stuff was happening, that when Hagrid said "Where's Hedwig?" to Harry back at the house... that's when it came crashing down that she was dead. And that's when we read Harry's thoughts, and he almost cried. But as someone noted, we can't be inside Harry's head in the movies, so they can't tell us - they have to show us. And the Hagrid-not-looking-right on the bike question is an easy one - remember - we've been shown loads of fake Hagrids over the years. It's a giant puppet strapped to the bike.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 13:23:20

Sorry - but small children have no business going to these movies anyway. WB should not feel obligated to make decisions based on their preferences. This is dark stuff people.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 13:43:23

Do you people read? It been proven she dies, why do you keep going on thinking she doesn't? Ugh..

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 13:54:42

As they file out, grabs his rucksack and ponders Hedwig in her cage. He snaps open the wire door and she flutters out, swoops down the hallway and soars out the open door. Harry glances once more down the hall, at the cupboard under the stairs, then exits. We HOLD on Hedwig's empty cage. 22 EXT. PRIVET DRIVE - NIGHT The other six Harrys sit upon thestrals and brooms. Hagrid sits astride a motorbike, goggles on. As the real Harry appears, Hagrid taps the sidecar and Harry drops in. MAD-EYE Good luck, everyone. On the count of three. One...two-- Hagrid kicks his motorbike to life, lurches forward. Hedwig swoops upward and beats toward the greasy moon. As Hagrid roars into the sky, Harry twists round, watching one Harry Potter after another whip past, watching Privet Drive grow smaller, his eyes stinging in the wind, briefly lost in the moment, when... 23 EXT. SKY - SAME TIME - NIGHT ...a DISTURBANCE FILLS THE AIR. Harry turns aways, looks up. DEATH EATERS drop from the clouds, surround the others. FLASHES of GREEN LIGHT splinter the darkness. Sparks explode on the bike's chassis and Hagrid HOWLS in fury. HARRY Hagrid! We've got to help the others! HAGRID Can't do it, 'arry. My job's ter get you where were goin' safe 'n sound--Mad-Eye's orders! Before Harry can reply, FOUR DEATH EATERS jet out of the darkness, robes snapping in the wind. As one, their wands

i <3these pics !they r soooooooooo awsome!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 14:00:32

but Hedwig HAS to die!it makes no sense 4 her not 2!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 14:02:46

@Jason Anderson I DO read and I do not thoroughly believe everything I do read. It has been posted in many places that she does die, BUT those sources are not altogether reliable. Whatever, I'll love the movie whether she dies or not.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 14:09:12

The sources are really reliable. The same guy the posted the leak, posted accurate script leaks for the last 2 films. No reason to believe that it wont be accurate this time around.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 14:33:59

The scrip of the 7 potters were real!!! WB ordered livejournal to remove it which means it was real. YES!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 14:39:53

The pics are AMAZING. i really want hedwig to die though! :'(

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 14:46:15

is it really so hard to keep hedwig's death scene as is? honestly... the malfoy manor death eater shot is great ^_^ still dont get my Cissa's hair is wrong... again, is that really such a hard detail to get right?.....really?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 14:55:14

Awesome!!!!! and i quote from previous mugglecasts "The bird gets it! the bird must DIE!!"

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 14:55:16

think about it- hedwig swooping in and taking a killing curse for harry (like fawkes in ootp!) is much more emotional than her trapped and dying anyway. remember the anguish we all felt with harry while reading won't be the same on screen when they're madly flying around

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 15:00:30

WAIT! is that richard harris on the life and lies cover?!!?!?!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 15:08:59

Warner Bros. has taken down the two bits of the script! There are still some sites to read them on, so hurry up!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 15:11:05

love the pics!!!!!11

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 15:22:52

OMG!!!!!!! WHY DIDN"T HEDWIG DIE!!!!!!! HE NEEDS TO DIE!!!!!!! I like the lovegood house it looks really cool. That one picture of Rupert is HOT!!!!!!!!! The blood on Hermiones hands look really fake and its only on her hands not on anythig else.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 15:31:22

wow people... u dont read very carefully do u? Hedwig DOES die, it just says she may not die the same way she did in the book, but the pics are awesome, the one of the death eaters is really great, Draco is sitting there all scared and nervous and Bellatrix is as crazy as ever.. ooh i hate that woman

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 15:52:07

I hope they dont go all stupid and make it so Hedwig is an over the top hero, for example acting like a sheild for harry or if harry falls out the side car she dosnt swoop down and grab him and put him back in (very unlikely)... i think she needs some glory though like trying to peck voldys eyes out before she dies :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 16:20:53

Wow the pictures are great! Especially the pictures of the Lovegood home, absolutely perfect! As for Hedwig....I dunno what I want to see happen, honestly. I actually cried reading her death, but killing her off like that would be faithful to the book. However, people could take offense to it, so it might be best that Harry sets Hedwig free with one last goodbye. As for her dying after that, I can see that. It's very hard to think about. If they do kill her because she's trying to save Harry or something, I still don't know, lol. It hit me hard reading about her death because I know how close her and Harry were and it's sad to see one of his very first friends go. :[

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 16:38:47

come on! hedwig died! cant they honor him?!?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 16:54:23

Think about the many other small details the filmmakers changed a bit just to make the film more exciting and better to watch: in SS, Quirrell dying BEFORE Harry is rescued and Voldemort flying away in his vapor/spirit form was a much better choice than the screen fading out during a struggle and then finding out Dumbledore rescued him. Same thing in CoS, Fawkes healing Harry AFTER he defeats Riddle/destroys the Horcrux while he is dying from the poison was also a much better choice and keeps the action flowing. Whatever they do, they have their reasons which make sense for a movie perspective. We do not have access to Harry's thoughts like in the book and will certainly not see Stan Shunpike in the flying battle (no one who hasn't read the book would understand this anyway) so Hedwig coming back to save Harry makes much more sense than him saying "Expelliarmus" to a random Death Eater. It's going to be great no matter what. Stop. Complaining. About. Trivial. Facts.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 16:57:35

Snitchseeker.com has posted it on their site that WB International has informed them that the NEW TRAILER may be released in September... Go to snitchseeker.com and visit the first post abt Dan saying that the 2nd movie will start with a heist..

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 18:06:37

%$#@!* WHAT!!!!! This is sooooo stupid!!! It was good in the book! WHY CHANGE IT?!?! This just pissed me off. Hey, while we're at it, why don't we change everything else that happened in the book? Ya thats a good idea!!! Screw you WB. It was supposed to be symbolical! Now its like Hedwig flies away and you'll never see her again, oh wait she comes back and DIES? Dumbest idea ever. Wish I had a wand...i could kill the writers...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 18:15:53

@Dan: WB does not make/alter the movies--the filmmakers do. Complain to them instead of insulting WB. Plus, every movie is different than the book; the movie must have some sort of artistic freedom. Some things that work in the book just don't transfer on screen, hence the changes.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 18:18:17

The leaked "7 potter" script (the one WB request to delete from Livejournal) could be found here : http://gwpotter2008.ning.com/profiles/blogs/deathly-hallows-spoiler-leaked http://gwpotter2008.ning.com/profiles/blogs/deathly-hallows-spoiler-leaked-1 and you will found this "Harry grins triumphantly when...a mad volley of WAND BLASTS ricochet off the motorbike and Hedwig is gone. Harry glances about desperately, when: "

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 18:27:11

Now that we can see these in hi-def, from the way the walls are painted, I think the Harry on the floor picture is from the Lovegood's house, not Bathilda's, because there is similar paint on the outside of that house, and we know Luna painted stuff. Also Bathilda's house was at night, and the Lovegoods in the day.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 18:41:52

@XxPigfartsHereIComexx: would i be on this website, looking for HP movie 7 info if i didn't like the book? I thought the book was great, so i want the movie to be just like it. And sorry i complained to WB, sheeesh! when are you getting married to them again?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 18:44:10

@Fuckyou--You have the audacity to ask me "Eh?" when you're the one who made the "If you don't release such and such footage by such and such time, there will be blood shed" videos?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 19:22:24

Did anyone happen to save a copy of the script? I read it earlier but wanted to take another look and can't find it anywhere since it was suspended from livejournal. If you can, please send it to liamjustice@hotmail.com Thanks very much!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 19:51:43

@ Liam Justice If you google "leaked deathly hallows script" the first result is the same as the livejournal one. Also, in my mind, the leaked script has beem confirmed because: 1.) This is the same user that leaked script bits from the last 2 movies. They were accurate. 2.) The script leak was in March. This scrpit shows Harry setting Hedwig free in the same way the MTV preview shown in June (and this picture). Even though WB has not confirmed the script themselves, I have no reason to believe it's fake.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 20:45:21

HEDWIG MUST DIE. But seriously, she needs to be killed. I'm also happy that Hermione's hands are bloody again.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 22:43:48

Zach, Hedwig is a FEMALE owl. Also, leave it for the HP fans to overreact without knowing the whole story *cough* DAN *cough*

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-17 23:48:04

Hedwig must die and i believe she will die :'( *its sadly but it's should be* though it filmed in different way from the book.. hedwig, she had role to die, rite?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-18 05:42:08

I am not happy. Hedwig is not released! She is with Harry the entire time during the seven potters fight and she is killed. it makes me mad when they change something that is clearly stated in the book. Unfortunately, Hedwig has to die, but can't they get right how she dies????

Wow! It's just like when the trailer came out..excitement peaking again! :D And as with the trailer, I just have to keep looking at them over and over again!! Can't wait.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-18 10:38:36

Randy: Thanks for letting us know!!! It sounds freaking badass!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-18 11:04:06

This is ridiculous!!! How can they not kill Hedwig????!!!! The photos are cool though! :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-18 12:23:50

I'm already doubting how much the movie will stay true to the book, and this just cast even more doubt...

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-18 13:34:49

Maybe we will see the footage i mean it took 4 weeks for this guy to put this up xD

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-18 14:32:17

I'll sue them if they don't kill Hedwig. Serisley, she flies away adn dies??? WOW.

http://i-am-a-fan-of.podomatic.com/player/web/2010-08-17T23_46_05-07_00 AUDIO OF THE COMIC CON FOOTAGE FROM 15 MINUTES TO 19 MINUTES!!!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-18 16:54:04

It blows my mind that people just look at the pictures THEN comment without reading what is said. If you ask me if Hedwig does indeed die, AND SHE MUST, her death in the movie is better than her death in the book which she dies in her cage.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-18 19:04:55

FROM NOW ON PEOPLE, READ THE ARTICLE DESCRIPTION FIRST, NOT THE COMMENTS. It gets annoying that everyone getting mad that Hedwig dies when she actually does. The post has been edited and does not say the same thing as before.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-18 19:09:16

There's no way a bird cage can fit in that sidecar.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-18 19:24:08

@XxPigfartsHereIComexx: "...everyone getting mad that Hedwig dies when she actually does." ... well...thank you, that clears everything up nicely! ??? You are saying that ppl should stop being mad about her dying because she "actually" dies. Wow, you could be as stupid as your name!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-18 19:27:07

@Jason Anderson: do you know something i don't? If so, enlighten me...

@Jason Anderson: Do you happen to know something i don't? If so, enlighten me...

Those pictures are amazing!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-18 20:33:42

@Dan: I am sorry but insulting me and others on multiple posts is taking it too far. And do you even know where my username comes from? I'm just saying that there is nothing to say that she doesn't die. A leaked script has been posted by a user who has correctly leaked scripts of OotP and HBP confirms that Hedwig is released but comes back to protect Harry. That user posted it in March, before the trailer and the images of Hedwig flying away were released. I just think it isn't right for everyone to get worked up over something that isn't official yet.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-18 20:35:57

**Edit: It gets annoying that everyone is getting mad that Hedwig does not die when she actually does (there is nothing official that would confirm otherwise, just speculation).

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-18 20:36:03

I agree with everyone that said Hedwig needs to die. I know its sad and stuff but its got to happen!! Harry has to feel that pain and slowing down and realizing that she IS DEAD!!!! I cried when I read that she died but its sorta an important part. But the pictures WERE AWESOME!!!!! WB PLEASE RELEASE MORE PICTURE!!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-18 21:53:00

@XxPigfartsHereIComexx: haha sorry dude, i was trying to get a good comment fight going, but you seem too controled. darn, i haven't had a good one in a while :). but i do agree with most in saying that hedwig needs to die, and i liked the book version, it was short and sweet. Sorry

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-19 07:02:33

It looks like they ran out of money on Narcissa's hair! It was all blond in the last movie, I'm just confused as to why they're doing this. But SO EXCITED!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-19 11:23:36

No, Narcissa's hair was two-toned the last movie. The black is probably there to show her connection to Bellatrix.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-19 13:10:35

Really excited to see harry!!! I will always be a fan from the beginning until the end...Or when few forgets Harry :)..I love Harry and Sirius is my boyfriend :)))

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-19 16:35:09

I have liked the idea of hediwg coming back to try to help harry great since i first saw it on the mtv preview; that's be so dramatic and intense! But i really dont want to know officially if this is happening, or if she is dying the way in the book (which doesnt seem that will happen) or if she isnt dying at all. Arent you a bit curious to see for yourself the adaptation when it gets to the screen? Even if andrew and micah have to keep us posted, i cant understand how they really looked for a "leaked scrip". That's the dullest thing ever, im sorry, but it is true. Why not hold the surprises when they should come when the movie is being played??? Why spoil yourself and lose those feelings of surprise (letdown, excitement, pride, happiness, sadness... whichever) that dont happen in many films? For example, what i felt while watching HBP in undescribable. It was a TRUE experience and something i will probably never EVER forget. But well, maybe some are taking literally the phrase "CANT WAIT FOR DH". I cant wait to watchit and it is my most anticipated film of ALL TIME; and that's why i dont want to be spoiled.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-19 19:42:59

Guys, keep reading. Hedwig DOES die so stop freaking out. "Some MuggleNet readers are saying a leaked copy of the script reveals that Hedwig flies back to save Harry during the Seven Potter fights, and THEN she gets killed as she protects Harry."

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-19 20:32:32

I think it will be good if Harry lets her go and she flies away- it would be all emotional. Then she could choose to come back and save Harry's life during the seven Potter's flight instead of dying stuck in a cage.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-19 20:38:08

im okay with the way Harry let Hedwig go, I just hope they don't mess anything else up.They did a magnificent job with the 7th movie, keeping all the crucial details in, but leaving the not-so crucial ones out, I just hope they do something like that again.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-19 20:42:49

i know ive already posted on this one, but after reading some of the other posts i feel the need to add this... hedwig is a girl.... please stop calling her a He, haha.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-20 05:26:55

I think that this way of Hedwig dying will be more dramatic and all but, still if it happens the way they everyone is saying it will, I reckon it'll be a bit far fetched. Hedwig just happens to fly back just in time to save Harry from a killing curse, I mean come on.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-20 08:12:30

Woah.. that death eater photo.. that is immense! As for Hedwig.... hmmm, i'm not really sure what to think, as long as she dies it's not too bad :) THE BLOOD IS BACK XD XD and it looks like the hedge that harry listened to the news behind has grown a little :L

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-20 09:30:08

anyone realise that in the pic of harry and hagrid its a full moon? isnt bill ment to get attacked by greyback of the film version in this scene ? does this mean greyback and lupin are... but i don't know much about the potion lupin takes but is it wise to go out in the moon light?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-20 12:28:07

These pictures are fantastic! I loved HBP but I think DH may be even better! David Yates should have been the director for all the HP films! My favorite pic is Hermione's bloody hands.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-20 12:31:32

Hermione's bloody hands show that the trio are dealing with something real and dangerous and how much they have grown. I LOVE it!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-20 16:06:02

That still of Harry sliding and reaching for something is him reaching for his wand at Bathilda Bagshot's house in Godrics Hollow.....

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-20 18:20:55

@Eli--That is a shot of Harry at the Lovegood home, not Bathilda Bagshot's.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-20 23:51:15

They need to stay true to the books the best they can

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-21 00:44:30

Pretty Awesome.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-21 18:42:05

I love Hedwig! Harry should def. set him free! and the pictures are awesome! Can not wait till the movies come out!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-22 10:33:10

I love the picture of the Lovegoods home, it looks just like I imagined!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-29 14:26:37

I like all the pictures--awesome! On the subject of Hedwig: WB said both movies would stay more true to the books, due to the fact that it is now it 2 parts. However, they changed the Hedwig plot! I am usually all for staying as true to the books as possible, but I think the idea of Harry letting Hedwig go, and then she sacrifices herself for him is very sweet, so I'm happy with it. P.S.--I kind of think it goes full circle, as Harry saves Hedwig by letting her go before the 7 Potters, and she saves him later. :)

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-30 16:06:39

When harry reaches for something it is obvious that he is reaching for his wand in either bathilda bagshot's house or luna's house-ish thing

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-30 22:20:28

Xenophilius looks so funny! You can see that "Comical 'O'" with his mouth that was described in the book! lol

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-30 22:21:56

Now that we finally got new stills from WB, I'm hoping that they release all of the DH calender pic we saw back in June. With the new stills we're getting now, it seems a majority of them are from the DH calendar

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-08-31 18:50:44

I like that Hedwig does not die, there will be too much death in the last two movies and I will have one less tissue to use.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-01 18:13:15

awesome !!!!!!!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-03 13:41:54

So most people think Hedwig needs to be killed. I agree! It's not that I'm HAPPY she dies, I was VERY sad when I read that part of the book. But, I ABSOLUTELY HATE all the changes they make in the movies! I'm the kind of girl that cannot stand when they change books for the movies. I love the HP movies, but many people agree that changing stuff takes out the awesomeness!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-03 13:57:28

Read and reply your thoughts!! My comments on the pics: 1) Not happy they changed the story line. 2) Bellatrix makes me so mad! 3) Looks pretty cold. 4) Totally awesome, Xeno! 5) Wow, the blood! Hermione's look of concentration gives me the chills. 6) Very colorful ;D 7) Amazing how much the actors have grown since the first film. 8) By the looks on their faces, it appears that Harry is about to leave. 9) Love when everybody turns into Harry.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-07 15:17:38

hedwig deserves a dramatic ending with her as the hero so im happy they changed the plot because i didnt like the one the book had because it was really quick and it didnt seem like anyone cared that much

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-07 15:18:21

only 72 more days cant wait

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-07 15:19:33

did anyone else hear the rumor that the second part is gonna b rated R

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-07 19:32:28

The major catastrophe in that scene is Hedwig dieing! She's been with him through everything and Hagrid gave her to Harry! Personally I believe Hedwig needs to die, that scene (like JK Rowling meant it to be) is where Harry really moves on from his childhood!

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-08 15:56:31

Love these! Especially of Xeno Lovegood's house But the one of Harry and Hagrid on the motorbike - how is it a full moon? Isn't Remus there?

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-14 16:20:26

did anyone notice the full moon in the background of the harry and hagrid picture? if lupin is there (in the book he was) then he would've transformed that night.

Posted by: - Posted on: 2010-09-15 20:24:47

Good eye, Kelsey. I thought the one of the death eaters sitting at the table was really cool; don't know why, just did(:
