MuggleNet.com's What Will Happen in Harry Potter 7
As anticipation of the final Harry Potter book intensifies, a debate is raging among fans about what's in store for Harry and the rest of the gang at Hogwarts. In this book, the experts at MuggleNet.com present a wide range of hard facts and bold predictions about the most popular storylines, favorite characters, and final outcome of the Harry Potter saga. Drawing on their intimate knowledge of the previous six books, as well as tips and suggestions made by millions of MuggleNet.com fans (not to mention a personal interview with J.K. Rowling), the authors offer answers to the burning questions of Harry Potter readers everywhere: Will Hogwarts School be open for Harry's final year and will Harry even be in attendance? Will Harry's quest for the remaining Horcruxes be rewarded? Where do Severus Snape's true loyalties lie? And, most importantly, will Harry survive the final battle with Lord Voldemort?

We're proud to announce that the first-ever book written by MuggleNet staff is now available for pre-order for only $11.95 (we tried to keep the price down) through our partner Alivan's. Profits from the purchase of the book go directly to us and help offset the rising costs of servers and web site operation. Thank you so much for your support, and enjoy the book!

UPDATE (5/7): The book reached #2 on the New York Times Children's Bestseller List this week - its 12th week on the list. Over 300,000 copies are now in print. The only book outselling What Will Happen is Eldest, the sequel to Eragon, by Christopher Paolini.

UPDATE (2/25): The book entered the New York Times Children's Paperback Bestseller List at #4, with only Bridge to Terabithia, High School Musical, and Eragon selling more copies.

UPDATE (2/8, 2/18): The book is reviewed by the New York Times, and later selected as an Editor's Choice!

why would you post negative comments about a book written by people that own the site you love so much? doesn't make sense. i think it's great. i love reading the stuff on this site and the ideas and theories because so much is pointed out that i so obviously missed while reading the books. these guys read so much in to what jo writes than i do. and after reading the interviews they have done with her, they aren't far off the mark. this book is written for someone just like me. reading will probably just get my mind working and thinking more about what will actually happen in book 7. i hope it does well to help support the site as well. anything that helps me continue to get my daily mugglenet fix is good in my book. :)

Posted by reddiej Oct 27th 2006

I agree with dobby_rocks. Making a profit over what others do for fun with theorising and speculating about the final book? You can honestly expect me to believe that Jo Rowling would support this, do you? No one's opinions and ideas about the end of the series are any better than anyone else's, but you don't see me trying to make money from others, do you? This just feels very wrong, but it's all about making money, isn't it?

I normally support everything MuggleNet does and I wish all of you the best of luck...but it irks me a bit that 100% of the proceeds go to the site. It seems like it's just another venture cashing in on Jo's fabulously imaginative series. I know MuggleNet has more honorable intentions than most, but I still wish at least a portion could go to one of Jo's favorite charities (personally, I suggest MS, as my mother has this disease). Needless to say, I won't be buying the book. If any other MuggleNet fans feel as I do, please be vocal about it because we know the comments are read on occasion. The MuggleNet staff is very loyal to their fans, so if they saw that there was a real desire for something like this, I know they would take it into consideration. Keep up all the great work, staff and fans alike.. :)

There are quite a few books out like this that have not been authorized by Jk Rowling, Warner Bros, or anyone associated with the Harry Potter Books or movies. "The Ultimate Unnoficial Gude to the Mysteries of Harry Potter" (which covers books 1-4) is much like this one mugglenet is producing, just a little different. It analyzes what has happened in the books so far, and gives you their theories, while giving you tools and encouraging you to find things out yourself. This book Mugglenet is producing is not their version of the seventh book. It is all of the clues, what they consider vital information, and theories compiled into a simple volume so you don't have to scrape over the internet to find them all. I have found numerous books like these in popular bookstores such as Barnes and Noble and Books-A-Million, and JK or WB has not sued anyone to my knowledge, and to top it all off, Jo is a friend of mugglenet. I'd bet you a million galleons that theres a disclaimer in "MuggleNet.com's What Will Happen in Harry Potter 7", actually, there's probably more than one.

Posted by weaselette Oct 28th 2006

Well luckily my friends have secret santa, I'll just hint to them all about it... but buying it online? Perhaps. If they order it now it comes out in two weeks and then take 6 weeks to get to Aus! That's December I think. Yay for fan-written books! They fuel us until '08 when book seven comes out.

Posted by GryffindorLioness Oct 28th 2006

OMG!!! This is so awesome! Gongrats Mugglenet. I'm buying one!

Posted by siriusly_crazy Oct 28th 2006

American dollars? This book better come out in UK too!

Hearing this news, I just thought it would be appropriate to post a excerpt from the MuggleCast 52 transcript. ---------- ------------------------- ------------------------- -------------------- L istener Rebuttal - Write a Book ----------------- ------------------------- ------------------------- ------------- Jamie: Oh, I thought that was extremely good. Extremely good. Okay, this is from Don't Know and Not Sure. Their ages combined, which is 28. I don't know if that's 28 each and we have to combine that or if its 28 in total. But they say: "Hey, guys and Laura..." And Claire - don't forget. "This is Don't Know and Not Sure and we have an idea to solve your financial problems. Write a book together! All the real Harry Potter fans will buy it and then you can stop begging us to buy t-shirts and making excuses about how our other... [Claire laughs] Jamie: ...shirts will explode. Because they won't. They will, they will. Your shirts will explode! "We hope you take our brilliant advice. Love the show, bye!" Ben: What irony! Jamie: Yes, thank you, Don't Know and Not Sure. We are writing a book, making a film... [Everyone laughs] Jamie: ...going into the real estate business, building cruise liners... Andrew: But, come on, seriously. Why on Earth would we write a book? That doesn't make sense. Ben: That doesn't make any sense. Jamie: That doesn't make any sense at all. Ben: I would not want to be involved with that. Jamie: No, I tell you why, because the effort - especially if there's a deadline or something, you know? Like, I mean, I just, I don't know. Andrew: Like September 1st. That's just outrageous. Jamie: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah that is stupid, that is stupid. But, thank you, Don't Know and Not Sure for caring about us.

this is quite the big step for mugglenet! im proud of you guys! i would buy it if i had money (darn art school taking all my money) but im pretty sure i know all the predictions in the book anyway so i shouldnt spend money on it when i can spend it on food or paintbrushes

DAYUM MUGGLENET IS LAYING DOWN THE POWAH. POWAH TO YOU FRIENDS

Posted by bushybee Oct 28th 2006

I think it's a fantastic idea! But I don't think I'll buy it. I REALLY haven't got the time for intense Harry Potter speculations. Can't wait for book 7!

Posted by LadyM Oct 28th 2006

awesome i want that book but i can't get it in this stupid country i wanna go back to america :-(

Posted by diannetic Oct 28th 2006

that is so INTRUIGING!! i want that book so bad...but my parents don't like me to buy it!grrrrrrrrrrrrr!! oh well,i'll just wait for the final book to come out! and maybe my parents might agree to buy it!wahahahahahaha!!!

Posted by puppet Oct 28th 2006

I think it's great they wrote a book about it. It seems a great way to put all kinds of theories and facts and stuff in one solid place. I disagree with the people who say oh they shouldn't write it, the proceeds shouldn't go to mugglenet. Mugglenet is a fansite. That book is a fanbook in a way. HP fans don't have to buy it just like HP fans don't have to visit Mugglenet. The proceeds go to Mugglenet the fansite, which is run for the fans, by the fans blah blah blah etc. Also with a thing as popular as Harry Potter there are going to be books written about just like there are fanfics written and podcasts and editorials and all that jazz. Anyway as I haven't actually read the book yet I can't really make a judgement about it. Don't judge a book by it's cover. Anyhoo good luck to Emerson, Ben, Andy, Gretchen, and Jamie

Posted by puppet Oct 28th 2006

Good luck to Emerson, Ben, Andy, Gretchen and Jamie

Posted by bwof Oct 28th 2006

Okei, so this is terrific!! :), a bit like mini christmas or something and I so want this book! But when will it be published???? can one buy it even though one isn´t from USA?

Posted by bwof Oct 28th 2006

Oh, and I wonder what Jo thinks about this, maybe she will mention it on her website!? I really hope this book will be popular and be published in stores.

Posted by Anniina Oct 28th 2006

Wow, that looks brilliant!

Posted by anisha93 Oct 28th 2006

Sweet!

Posted by Dana_of_the_DA Oct 28th 2006

Well, I guess that's great for the mugglenet staff....but I won't buy it, at least not until I read book7. It will ruin all the surprise.

Posted by Ionut Oct 28th 2006

Hmmm ... I love Mugglenet of course as this is the site I used for the past 4 years. But lately I think they're becoming a little greedy. Take a look at how many ads they have on the home page ! I don't think that they have more visitors now than 1 or 2 years ago, but they have packed the site with ads. Take Leaky for example ... just 4 Google ads at the bottom of the page, and 1 Banner at the top - That's it. I can tell you for sure that Mugglenet is making much more than it needs for hosting - I am an Internet Marketer and I know how things work. I'm not saying they don't deserve to make a lot of money, it's just that I think they are pushing it a little.

Posted by cookiemonster Oct 28th 2006

Well, I don't know how much money a site needs to keep running smoothly, Ionut, but what I do know and see is that Mugglenet is doing a great job, seriously and responsibly. They deserve to make something out of it I think. No one is forcing people to buy the book or any of the things on the ads. The fact that it has many ads just shows how popular the site is. "Greedy" is too harsh a word.

Posted by PotterMust Oct 28th 2006

I dunno..It Might Spoil some of the surprises. A really smart fan might predict something that's really close to or exactly what is going to happen and so when we actually get down to the reading, we'll go.. "darn that was so expected!"

Posted by Hollie Oct 28th 2006

Um, yeah POTTERMUST, but how likely is that? To put it simply people, if you don't like it, DON'T BUY IT.

Posted by pHoAtRtReYr Oct 28th 2006

The nintendo Wii is coming out on November 19!

Posted by Anna Oct 28th 2006

I agree with the more negative comments, although some of them are quiet harsh. I really don't mind supporting the site as they do a great job. But spending money to read oppinions you can partly find on this site, partly on other sites is a bit too much for me. It does come across a bit as money-making. I know most of the money goes to this site, as you stated in another news-thread how much this site costs a year. But what about the rest of the money? What if there is much more money coming out of this than the site needs? Will you keep it for yourself? Will you donate it?

Posted by SiriusBlak Oct 28th 2006

I Might not buy it cause it might spoil the book so idk....i probualy wont cause i wont every min of the 7th Book to last! So Thanks But no Thanks....sory well we all know That Harry Potter books is the best series on the planet!!! So Thats why i wont every min of the 7th Book to Last cause the series is coming to a end! But i will Always Read these books even after the 7th Book is out! Well good luck with every thing Mugglenet!! And Jo u Are Really the Best Author on the Planet!! Keep on Writing Cause You Rock!! We All love u Jo!

Posted by joelephant Oct 28th 2006

Awesome! I totally want it! Hey, 3 day late Xmas present... Will request it!

Posted by dinky_diddy_kins Oct 28th 2006

Don't we get this stuff for free on this site and by listening to Mugglecast?

Posted by soccerluver13 Oct 28th 2006

Kinda cool, yet kinda lame....I mean anyone could get a small group of huge fans together and write a book and get it published..but whatever =] I probably won't buy it, but if I see it anywhere I'll look through it. Might be cool to have, though, just to see how much my theories match theirs and how off everyone really was after reading book7. Lol.

Posted by harryhugger Oct 28th 2006

AWESOME! i hope you guys are going to Borders and Barnes and Noble sell it too!

Posted by voldemorts8th_horcrux Oct 28th 2006

and been said writing a book would be dumb! great idea guys. what is the offiial release date?

Posted by so_hot_Dan Oct 28th 2006

Fun Fun Fun! I still have to convince my mom into letting me order it!

Posted by Edward88Italy Oct 28th 2006

Interesting book...If it will be published in Italy I think I will buy it. Surely even if it will be in english. Since I read the first Harry Potter I've read other very very interesting books (four or five) about the HP's world!
