ABC Family to air OOTP preview on December 1st
A short commercial for an upcoming Order of the Phoenix preview was recently aired on ABC Family. Thanks to reader Ashley, we have a detailed description of the preview's ad:
The first thing that you see is two (what appear to be) Death Eaters, one with a blue mask and one with a green mask, I believe. It then switches to a scene with Harry in it looking scared and sweaty. Then it switches to a scene with Harry, Hermione, Ron, Ginny, Neville, and Luna riding broomsticks (they ride on Thestrals in the book) in London right over the Thames River. You see the London Bridge in the background and you see a cruise tour boat that they are flying past. Then it switches to Harry, Ron, and Hermione (Ron isn't present in the book) in the Forbidden Forest backing away from something - it's either Grawp or the Centaurs. Then it switches to Harry, Hermione, Ron, Luna, Neville, and Ginny flying past the Houses of Parliament/Big Ben. And then it switches to Harry flying towards the screen with London in the background, over the Thames River.
The Order of the Phoenix preview will come as part of ABC Family's Harry Potter weekend, which will air on December 1st. We will have a video online shortly afterwards.

i hate4 watching trailers for harry potter... because you are finally settling down and then you see it and you cant wait again. and its horrible. you can never get anything accomplished becasue you are thinking about it. but as soon as it appears on the internet i will probably watch it. ;)

YAY! *does funky dance* although december 21st seems EONS away i'm happy! and ZOMG! like about 15 people said already, i'd go into cardiac arrest straightaway if an OoTP trailer randomly came on...haha, i remember waiting for GoF to come out last year and if i was watching tv and a trailer came on i'd gasp loudly, immediately stop ANYTHING i was doing, and stare at the screen wide eyed, mouth agape, and breathing halted until it was over...and then i'd burst into fits of excitement at what i'd just seen, no matter how many times i'd already seen it. sighhh...Harry Potter=life, basically.

Oh I am so excited. ABC Family is a best friend to a bored college student because it has re-runs of popular shows that were on when we were younger. So I am so pumped to have them playing the OOTP commercials and I can't wait to catch it. And like the others have already said...I'm going to have heart attack and stop what I'm doing when I catch a commercial. I love news!

I JUST SAW IT!!! i practically screamed. it was soooo dark and eerie and cool. yay. cant wait for the movie. *dances*
I just saw it...and for early effects it looked awesome and dark and so much more grown looking. And I think all they really showed were the Guard in London, Harry looking into the camera, on a broom and the trio in what looked like a woods...so excited for the 21st!

iwishiwashermione, I believe that they already showed PoA on ABC Family. I recall watching it and it wasn't as great because they obviously cut out scenes because it's too long for TV. I bet everyone is watching ABC Family now just to see the preview...even if they don't like the show that's on. I'm watching too. :]

Hi, Can someone who saw the commerical please tell what they were watching when they saw the commerical? Was it a movie, a tv show? Thanks a bunch:) I am going to try to watch that Doctor Dolittle movie tonight in hopes I will catch the commerical!

I was just watching Full House and they showed it. The commercial that it's in is it starts out with Christmas bells and it discusses the 25 days of Christmas and they says the first weekend starting December 1st will be the 'Harry Potter' weekend with the world showing of PoA full version with scenes never seen in theatres and then shows 4 or 5 very very very short clips of OotP.
OMG I just saw the comercial and i came on mugglenet to inform you guys and it came on! Wow it looked amazing (besides Harry's haircut). I'm so exited!
Wow! Just as i was reading this article, i heard them advertising for the harry potter weekend on ABC Family! so i ran to the other room and caught the preview!!! it looks AWESOME!!! CANT WAIT!!

Okay, guys maybe I am a little confused, but what with the boat?
Phoenix_Valor pointed out the thing that stood out most for me: there are no Threstals. That does it, my hopes for this movie are gone. I mean, making people look like they are flying on threstals cannot be much harder than making them look like they are on broomsticks!
PLEASE! Can somebody, anybody in the U.S. PLEASE just go to ABC and press record on their DVD recorder? Please, with so many people on here saying they have seen it, it cannot be that hard. Esspecially since right now I have to study from my exams next week... Curse NCEA. Please people brighten my day :)
