Introducing... MuggleNet Axial!
We are proud to introduce to you our brand new news system, MuggleNet Axial. Here are some of the changes and features:
  • Comment registration. Now you have your own personalized account to comment on each news item. Sign up today! Remember, you only have to register once.
  • Categorized news items. Now you can browse through our news based off of the specific category, whether it be Emma Watson or Movie 5 info.
  • Full news items. What if the information in the news item is too much for one post? Now you can see individual pages for each news item. News posts with more information to offer will have the headline linked to another page.
  • RSS Feed. You can now easily make MuggleNet's news come right to you by using our new RSS feed.
  • Improved backend. No more mysteriously deleted news posts or strange formatting errors. Our new system was coded from scratch, which makes it easier for us to improve its functionality and add new features.
  • Speaking of new features, we have many ideas planned that will improve the way MuggleNet does news. We'll let you know.
We know that registering for comments may be a hassle, but due to the volume of comments we get, this makes it easier for our staff to manage. It's a short, one-time registration that only takes a few seconds.

We can't thank our coder Matt enough for the time and effort he put into programming this!

I really don't like this new thing.

Posted by bogart May 9th 2006

Winky, you aren't the only one.

Posted by MuggleLover May 9th 2006

I like it :-D! No confusion on names anymore!

Posted by C_Me May 9th 2006

oohh, i like it, now its not as confusing!

Posted by Huidos May 9th 2006

Nice system, I only wish there was a way to stop people from saying "1st. post". I hate it when they do that...

Posted by Sharayahlm May 9th 2006

I can't wait for this to be up!

Posted by javalava828 May 9th 2006

i love emerson. i love emerson. i love emerson.

Posted by Sirius May 9th 2006

What I don't understand is why no one had chosen Sirius yet, I had actually seen someone else use it a long time ago and thought it was a good username.

Posted by dementor May 9th 2006

i like the time thing "posted by so-and-so one minute ago" lol! but i liked the pop-up comment box, that way you could still look through the comments and the other news at the same time. :( and the colors in this one are really eye-hurting. i liked the old gray.....i suppose it'll just take time to get used to. im gonna miss the fusion comment boa...

Posted by dementor May 9th 2006

whaa....?! why did it cut off in the middle of my post?!!! GRRRRRR! i want the old one. atleast you could post however long comments you wanted. :(

Posted by GinnyWeasley May 9th 2006

yay! i like my username! I usually just use ginny but someone took that already... oh well, I'm still ginny on the veritaserum forum and so i guess ginnyweasley will do on mugglenet! Not sure if I like the new news yet...

Posted by Mallory May 9th 2006

I like this system, but I agree with dementor about the pop-up box. I like that better. :)

Posted by RedRidingHood May 9th 2006

I think this whole registration thing defeats the purpose of casual comments, but I understand why mugglenet of all sites would be forced to use it.

Posted by potty_n_the_weasel May 9th 2006

cool... looks like all the good nicknames are gone already!!

Posted by vancouver2010 May 9th 2006

this is very cool! GREAT JOB MUGGLENET! ;D

Posted by boredofeducation May 9th 2006

Posted by colleen818 May 9th 2006

Posted by Sam_Kam_HP_Fan May 9th 2006

I have NO PROBLEM with this change. I think it will make everything much more organised. GO MUGGLENET!!!

Posted by MadameRowena May 9th 2006

neat stuff

Posted by Junigatsu May 9th 2006

Oh good.. maybe it'll cut down on people taking others' names and causing trouble. Great work, Mugglenet!

Posted by Moonlite May 9th 2006

Coolness :). No more people stealing other people's names :D

Posted by chaibabachai May 9th 2006

this new system looks great. I liked the old comment system as well, but this works. the catagory thing for the actual subjects is really cool too.

Posted by choco523 May 9th 2006

Pretty neato! New and improved without the confusingness of other sites. Nice one mugglenet!

Posted by Asad May 9th 2006

Coool! But how come the RSS feed isn't working? I want to load it onto my PSP, but the page that loads is just a document tree thing...

Posted by Ezzy82 May 9th 2006

Pretty Pretty Cool im still kinds confused about the whole thing but non the less think its a cool concept

Posted by VimHogar May 9th 2006

Congratulations! Always nice to see improvements, especially when they're so potentially useful.

Posted by hermoniehr May 10th 2006

Posted by willa May 10th 2006

Great Idea folks. Willa

Posted by Sirius May 10th 2006

Maybe someone can answer this, but is there any way of seeing our e-mail addresses?

Posted by topitope May 10th 2006

All Aussies, and everyone else who feels sorry for us because of the ridiculously late Australian release date of OOTP, head staight to: http://www.petitiononline.com/62442/petition.html to sign the petition directed at Warner Bros!! Thanks :-)

Posted by honeyt May 10th 2006

this is just BRILLIANT!!~

Posted by approximately May 10th 2006

I plan on doing so topitope, thanks for the link.

Posted by MissingHorcrux May 10th 2006

Oh EXCELLENT. No more pop-up comment box. I like it!

Posted by approximately May 10th 2006

in fact I was the one that made that petition reach 1400 signatures.....if that really means all that much.

Posted by Nikita May 10th 2006

Its pretty cool, but a bit high maintenance(sp?) for me, but i'm sure i'll get used to it, hey at least people can't impersonate others!!!

Posted by FaithInSnape May 10th 2006

So no more red errors that say we forgot to enter our name/e-mail?? Yayyy! LOL

Posted by rainbowrose May 10th 2006

cool! I hope it works well

Posted by MinervaMoon May 10th 2006

Wow. A comment! Signed in!

Posted by _Harry_Potter_ May 10th 2006

yay! its bloody exciting :D

Posted by MrBentastic May 10th 2006

This is terrible. MuggleNet's old comment system is what inspired me to incorporate PHP comments into my website: http://www.mrbentastic.com As you can see, my system and MuggleNet's old are very similar. Almost identical, actually. Anyway, I guess my only point is to voice my opinion, which is that I prefer the old method. Easier and more...

Posted by Kadaj May 10th 2006

I hope in the future mugglenet will let us personalize our posts, eg like adding display pics, sigs, stuff like that, like wht message boards have. I also want to be able to view more than 20 comments per page. It would be much appreciated.

Posted by nat089 May 10th 2006

This new system is great! Now it won't be so confusing and messy on the comment boards! Plus, no more pop up windows for comments! So I won't have to keep disabling my popup blocker just to view the comments. And the categorising of news is a brilliant idea. It makes searching for an old news post much, much easier. And thanks for changing t...

Posted by nat089 May 10th 2006

Thanks for changing the date format and actually spelling out the month instead of just using numbers (because I usually write the date as DDMMYY and got confused with the MMDDYY thing more than once). There's less confusion now, so thanks! Well done on the new system, Mugglenet!

Posted by ladyblack May 10th 2006

Wow! this is so cool! I like this heaps better than before! Looks good! Snaps for Matt.. WOot!

Posted by Ruth May 10th 2006

ARH! lol! this is great! Nice to have a change. weird but cool

Kadaj I personally hope people will never be able to post pictures nexto their names. I have VERY limited download living at a university and this is a reason I stay away from most forums. I also fel the pictures serve no real purpose.
