JK Rowling to visit NYC for book reading
The New York Times reports today that JK Rowling will be in New York City this August for a charity book reading. Jo will be at Radio City Music Hall in company of authors Stephen King and John Irving. King explained why he had invited our favorite author:

"I loved the stuff that she does, and I thought if we had her, we could actually make a huge amount of money for charities," Mr. King said in an interview. "I thought that we could actually fill a really, really large venue."

On receiving the invitation, Jo had no problem joining the effort:

"Stephen pretended to be in suspense about my answer, but frankly, this was easily one of the most enticing propositions ever put to me in an envelope."

Money raised through tickets (ranging from $12.50 - $100) will be donated to Doctors Without Borders and the Haven Foundation, which benefits "artists who suffered from illness or accidents." There will also be family packages costing $1,000 that include four orchestra seats and a signed book from each author.

NOTE: At this time we do not have any further ticket information, so please do not e-mail us asking. Once we find out more information, we will post it here!

Thanks to Sarah for the tip!

LOL....since when did the words do and able together become a bad thing. I mean I know it can mean something else but not always. Sometimes people just go overboard with the politically correctness of everything. Oh well, it's the world today no use in complaining.

Off Topic: There's a picture of Tom Felton and his girlfriend Melissa at this site http://www.mugglethai(dot)com/gallery/categories(dot)php?cat_id=103 just replace the (dot) with actual . I think they look cute together.

That's cool. I wish this thing was going on in June though when I'm going to NYC. Stephen King movies = my town. He makes most of the movies where I live. :]

I'm glad that Jo has such a good social conscience. She is handling fame very well.

Posted by veelagirl May 10th 2006

I want to go sooooooooo bad, but I don't really live within walking distance of NYC. Oh well, I know that the charity will make a lot of money, Jo's charities always do. Go Jo!
