This week, Madam Rosmerta is featuring a new main course in The Three Broomsticks, thanks to this recipe sent in by Sabrina: 'Shepherd's Pie.'
Shepherd's Pie was originally known as 'Cottage Pie' and has been coming out of ovens since 1791, when the potato was first introduced as an edible crop. The term Shepherd's Pie did not appear until 1877, and was traditionally termed when using lamb or mutton as the main meat ingredient.
In the wizarding world, we see that Harry ate his Shepherd's Pie without much of an appetite in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, as he had to spend time in detention with Professor Lockhart and answer his fan mail.
Now, with the help of this recipe in Madam Rosmerta's Recipe Section, you can enjoy a delicious meal just like the one served at Hogwarts and at The Three Broomsticks.
Every other week we are featuring a new recipe for you to try at home, and we would love to receive a 'Harry Potter' related recipe that you enjoy making. Do you know how to make delicious British, French, or other European fare? What about a Bouillabaisse, Kippers, or Molly's Alfredo sauce? Well, send it in!
Simply follow the recipe submission guidelines and don't forget to take a photo of your finished dish. Send it in to email@example.com and perhaps your recipe will be featured on the front page just like Sabrina's this week.
Please review Madam Rosmertas full menu so you don't submit something she already has. Have fun cooking!
