Goblet of Fire DVD sets world record
Jenna from DanRadcliffe.com has informed us that the Goblet of Fire DVD has placed in the Guinness World Records for being the fastest selling DVD ever.
The DVD sold five million copies on release day alone. A certificate to recognize this special honor was presented to Dan Radcliffe on set of Order of the Phoenix last month. Comments from the Potter actor, including a photo, will be in the 2007 Guinness Book of World Records.

That's awesome! Wouldn't it be great if Order of the Phoenix beat that record, and the 7th book beat the record as the fastest selling book?

That's reallllly cool :D.... but why weren't Emma or Rupert there too? That kinda sucks :-( *shurgs*
It is sad that so many people went and bought the DVD of such a 'well made movie'. Someone actually missed school to get the DVD? How mature. This is exactly what JKR wanted her book to turn into. people missing school. JKR would not be too pleased with such behaviour, thats for sure.
All Aussies, and everyone else who feels sorry for us because of the ridiculously late Australian release date of OOTP, head straight to: http://www.petitiononline.com/62442/petition.html to sign the petition directed at Warner Bros!! Thanks :-)
'Mazing! Wasn't unexpected. Since it was selling at a rate of 2 per second when it first came out. Got a copy myself too. Wh00t.
Absolutely amazing!!!!! CONGRATS to the cast and crew and of course to everyone who bought the DVD.
its so cool to think that I/we helped to set a guiness world record, i can't wait to see it in the book, that should help to wipe the smiles off my muggle friends.
HP in the Guinness Book!! fantastic! I was one of those who bought the DVD the first day, I couldn't wait to see it, and I loved the special features. topitope, I'm not Australian but I signed because I know how it feels when you have to wait so much to watch a movie you are dying to see, so I hope they listen to us and change the release date!...
