MuggleNet staffer Andy helps out JKR
Somehow we missed this one earlier today. Among the updates JK Rowling published on her site this morning included an update to the Rubbish Bin. An article that MuggleNet Encyclopedia manager Andy wrote up, supporting Jo's article on teenage girls, has caught the attention of Jo:

I thought of listing all the many characters in the Harry Potter books who are on the plumper side, to demonstrate what a very diverse group of personalities they are, how they include several of my most important, admirable and lovable characters, and how 'overweight' in no way equates to 'bad' in my fictional world... but Andy from Mugglenet has done it for me. Andy, I really owe you, because I've used the time you saved me to type up half a chapter instead!

What an honor for Andy to have helped save Jo some time in writing Book 7! You can check out more of his great work over at the MuggleNet Encyclopedia.

Jo also updated her diary regarding her complaint about not being able to find writing paper in Edinburgh, and the hilarious results.

Sweet!! Good job Andy!!

That's, like... awesome. You are a benefit to society, Andy. Book 7 shall come out all the faster. And I really liked reading your contradictory essay thingy. The one that guy wrote in the magazine made me angry. I was like, "Power to Jo," when I was reading yours. GO ANDY! I am your biggest fan now. ~The Grey Lady~

Hey, I quite like the new posting look. It seems a bit clearer to read than the grey background. It's more intergrated with the whole site.

All this hype over one moron's comments against Jo, which, as Andy pointed out, was not even written by someone who knows Jo's work or read any of her books. Why is that guy getting so much media attention? Just exactly what is it that he's trying to defend? I think he was just trying to drum up more readers for his column and he did. He got the attention that he was looking for. I don't think Jo needs to defend her opinion in the least. It was written on HER site in HER journal - she's entitle...

That's great and all, Andy! I'm glad Jo updated her website...but HELP! I got a new computer, and for some reason I can't click on ANY of the clues! I can go between places on her desk, but I can't click on the eggshells or the pen, or the spider, or the eraser/revealer....Can anybody help me?

Posted by Holly_Potter May 12th 2006

Or at least point me in the right direction, please? I'd rather not ask my brother, because he still thinks I'm nuts for being a HP fan
