Dan Radcliffe weighs in on Oscar hopes for Alan Rickman

Dan Radcliffe is weighing in on his desire to see Alan Rickman get rewarded for the brilliant performance as double-agent Professor Severus Snape in the upcoming Academy Awards.

On January 12, 2012, the official nominations for the Oscars will be announced, and as we have reported many times, a campaign from Warner Bros. Entertainment Company and the fans for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 is in full swing for both cast and crew nominations and potential victories.

Dan Radcliffe has joined this campaign for fellow star Alan Rickman as the Best Supporting Actor candidate by stating:

"I don't think there is going to be another performance from an actor in a supporting role that is so powerful, where the actor had the challenge of realising a scene that's been realised millions of times the world over in the imagination of readers.

That scene - those revelations about Snape's past - represented maybe the most anticipated part [of one] of the most anticipated movies of the past 10 years. I think Alan does amazing, amazing work."
