As we mentioned several months ago, Laura Mallory, a Georgia mother, has been trying to remove the Harry Potter books from library shelves in her local school district. The Gwinnett Board of Education voted unanimously to keep the books on the shelves, but Ms. Mallory has since appealed the decision, claiming they promote witchcraft. The Georgia State Board of Education will vote Thursday to determine the fate of the Potter books, which have been deemed by the American Library Association as the favorite controversial title.
