Warwick Davis - the actor who portrayed Professor Filius Flitwick and Griphook in the Harry Potter series - and his wife, Samantha, attended the lauch of Little People UK, an organization founded by the Davis family designed to share knowledge, experiences and expertise in the field of dwarfism.
Warwick attended the opening at Pen Green Children's Centre in Corby this past weekend. He stated:
"Little People UK is an organisation for little people and families affected by dwarfism. It's a way for us to share knowledge and resources. We want to bring together medical expertise because there are people with dwarfism born all over the country and doctors don't always understand the condition - we hear stories all the time of parents who haven't had a diagnosis for at least three years.
There is also the social aspect. It's lovely for parents to be able to share experiences, and for little people themselves to be able to share experiences."
Warwick and Sam also have a daughter Hope that suffers from dwarfism and it was important for her to meet other families with dwarfism and make new friends. This project has been a dream of Warwick and his wife for many years.
Congratulations on your fantastic work and dedication Warwick and Sam!
