JK Rowling still 'working hard' on Book 7
Jo Rowling updated her official site today with a new diary entry and a new addition to the rumors section. In her diary, Jo fills us in a little on Book 7's progress - she's currently "writing scenes that have been planned, in some cases, for a dozen years or even more" - and says, "I both want, and don't want, to finish this book (don't worry, I will.)" She also details a recent dream in which she was both Harry and the narrator.

I was searching for a Horcrux in a gigantic, crowded hall, which bore no resemblance to the Great Hall as I imagine it. As the narrator I knew perfectly well that the Horcrux was jammed in a hidden nook in the fireplace, while as Harry I was searching for it in all kinds of other places, while trying to make the people around me say lines I had pre-arranged for them. Meanwhile waiters and waitresses who work in the real cafe in which I have written huge parts of book seven roamed around me as though on stilts, all of them at least fifteen feet high. Perhaps I should cut back on the caffeine?

Could this dream have some bearing on an event in the seventh book? JK also wrote in her rumors section: "Harry will NOT merge with Voldemort to become a single entity, nor would Harry ever wish to command Death Eaters/Dementors/Inferi," debunking the theory he would.

Hmm...if she's writing scenes she's planned out for a while, she MUST be almost there....HBP came out on...July 16, 2005 right??? That would give her two years to write the book if it came out on 7/7/07...I'm surprised she hasn't made a comment on the 7/7/07 release date that all the fans seem to be anticipating....personall y, I'm hoping so badly for a 7/7/07 release date- my birthday is July 8!!!

I'm sort of worried about the release date of the book. I would love a summer '07 release...I really can't wait much longer. I really hoped that she would announce the release date on Christmas, but it doesn't look as if that is going to happen if she is still writing. Maybe we'll get a title then? :hopeful:

YUP! SHE'S WRITING THE END OF THE BOOK!! HOW DO I KNOW? I'M A WRITER (NOT YET A PUBLISHED ONE, THOUGH). ANYWAY, I FINISHED TO WRITE A MYSTERY SERIES A FEW MONTHS AGO, AND EVER SINCE YOU START WRITING A SERIES, THE SCENES THAT YOU IMAGINE AND THAT YOU'RE ANXIOUS TO WRITE ARE THE ONES ON THE END OF THE SERIES, WHICH MEANS THAT JK MUST BE ABOUT DONE, IF SHE'S ACTUALLY WRITING THOSE SCENES SHE HAD BEEN WANTING TO WRITE!

It's really great news that she's making so much headway. I hope we get a good christmas present in the form of some exciting details (title??)! i doubt 7/7/07 is going to happen, i think we'd have more info already if that was going to be the case. it would be awesome though...

maybe we should have a disscussion about how everyone on this site has no life at all. its a freaking book people go analize how f@@king boring and hopeless your life is.

Well Macgeek21, i think your post is ironic for two reasons. 1) macGEEK? Enough said. 2) You say our lives are sad, but how sad must your life be to post on a site about a "freaking book" whose members' lives are "f@@king boring and hopeless." Maybe if YOU had a life you would be on a site that you enjoyed, just as now I am on a site that I enjoy. And maybe if you had enough self-esteem, you could feel good about yourself without putting others down for something that they enjoy. And maybe if you had enough intelligence you would realize that discussion and analysis use your brain, something that i think would be good for you, perhaps, judging by your spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

do u htink this dream has anything to do with a scene in HP &TDH?

Posted by afelicis Dec 27th 2006

Well, hard to say, isn´t it? She probably wouldn´t talk about it if it gave us some clues... Just can´t wait to read the book!! :-)

haha. This is funny. I was skimming the first page of comments and everyone was like, ooh!! I think we'll get the title of book 7 as a Christmas present! and shnap!! barely three days later, what did we have but a title! that's crazy!! And I don't think the dream has anything to do with the book because Jo wouldn't just give stuff away like that if it meant something to the plot. I think we all know by now that she is very tight-lipped about plots and such. I have this feeling that we'll hear from her on New Year's Day, or Eve. Am I the only one that feels that way? I find it annoying that she hasn't said anything since releasing the title. Come on Jo!! We're dying to know what you are thinking!! I'm thinking she'll completley finish the book in a few weeks and we'll have it by summer!! I can't wait!!!
