MuggleNet Exclusive: 'Padma Patil' actress to attend Ascendio

If you've attended a Harry Potter conference before, you know that one of the coolest reasons to go is your opportunity to meet and converse with some of the people who made Harry Potter what it is today, including actors and actresses who experienced the films first-hand! It is with this in mind that we are thrilled to announce exclusively that Afshan Azad, who portrayed Padma Patil in the Harry Potter films, will be attending Ascendio 2012 this summer in Orlando, FL.

Ascendio, taking place at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel on Universal Studios property, will be Afshan's first Harry Potter conference, and likely the first time that any of the attendees will be able to meet her! Knowing H.P.E.F., we can speculate that there will be plenty of opportunities to meet Afshan during the conference's three-day run this July 12-15, 2012 (Q&A events, signings, etc.) but this will be true most especially during their night-time park event, called "Night of a Thousand Wizards 2" - which will be Afshan's first visit to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park!

"Ascendio" is shaping up to be an incredible experience for Harry Potter fans, with additional special guests including fan-favorite Potter actor Chris Rankin, and TIME Magazine's Lev Grossman. Their "party in the park" event will also be the only opportunity for Potter fans to wear costumes into the Wizarding World theme park (it's a private party!), which is something not allowed during normal park operation.
