The International Quidditch Association recently held a Muggle Quidditch exhibition tournament in Oxford, UK to showcase the sport during a 2012 Olympic Torch Ceremony Event in front of hundreds of fans. One of the attendees was MuggleNet fan and Harry Potter actress Ellie Darcey-Alden - who portrayed Young Lily Evans in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 - who attended the event with her family.

Today, we have Ellie's report of her first Muggle Quidditch experience where she shares with us her story of the exciting matches she watched and how she would like to start her own Quidditch team in the future.

From the report:

"When we actually arrived at the opening ceremony I did not quite know what to make of it, all the teams were in there international colours and were all taking it very seriously, I was so impressed. They started by playing every team’s national anthem, this was very entertaining! We got given a programme, which meant that we could see what times different teams were playing. When they started playing it was all a bit confusing because there were so many balls in play at the same time, bludger’s being thrown and dropped, and it was quite a challenge to learn all the rules."

If you are wondering about the cast on Ellie's arm, she broke it a couple days before the match during a drama class. But that didn't stop her one bit from running around on a broomstick and playing with the national teams.

Ellie also shared with us many of her terrific photos from the event, and you can see them all, as well as read her entire report, right here in MuggleNet's SnitchCenter. We thank the Alden family for allowing us to share in Ellie and her brother Joseph's first Muggle Quidditch experience. Also, special thanks to Alex Benepe of the IQA for setting the Alden family up with the accomodations for the matches.

If you are looking to form a team in your community, head on over to the IQA website for more information. Remember: "I got 99 problems, but the snitch ain't one!"
