Entertainment Weekly has just released an article that puts to bed any rumors of Harry Potter star Emma Watson taking on the lead role as Anastasia Steele in the film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey, a novel with sexually explicit material writen by E.L. James.

These rumors have been circling for a couple of weeks and were most likely started when magazines and Internet news sites began debating the "Top" qualified actresses that "fit the description" of the character Ana Steele. Listing Emma Watson as "one of the possibilities" based on age and looks.

Last week, Hypable reported that there was no truth to this rumor stating: Hypable has spoken to a rep for Watson who revealed that there is “no truth” to this rumor.

According to the Entertainment Weekly article, Emma Watson personally assured fans, the allegations are false:

“I haven’t read the book, I haven't a read a script, nothing. There are so many movies you become attached to when I've literally never even received a phone call. It was the same way with 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,' I never even saw a script!"

She adds that even some friends and family asked her about 'Grey' since so many different items linking her to the film have popped up online. "I told them just because there are 60 articles on the Internet doesn't mean it's any less true than if there are three or four.

And a word to the wise for those who believe everything that they read about the actress: "The thing is I'm not going to go out there every time someone attaches me to a film to say no or release a statement."

Emma does have a few projects in the works however, as she begins filming Noah. She has also recently finished filming The Bling Ring, End of the World, and The Perks of Being A Wallflower, which will be released in theaters on September 14th.

What upcoming film are you most excited to see Emma in? Let us know in the comments below.
