With the World Cup Regional Distribution recently announced, teams across the globe are buzzing with anticipation as the heart of quidditch season gets underway. This past weekend marked an important event: the very first regional qualifier tournament in IQA history: the European Regional Championship, hosted in Lesparre Medoc this past Saturday. Six teams, five from France and one from Italy, competed in a round robin tournament for the chance to represent their country at World Cup VI. After a long day of rain, sweat, and tears, the Paris Phenix Quidditch took home the Championship and the right to win a spot in the upcoming Quidditch World Cup in Kissimmee, Florida next April.

On the subject of the Quidditch World Cup, we remind all players and fans who wish to attend the event to book your trip through All About Group Travel, the official travel agency for Muggle Quidditch. Accommodation registration and package offers will begin on November 1st. If you have any questions, email Marie at AAGT. You can also head on over to the Internation Quidditch Association (IQA) website to check out package prices for tickets and meals right here.

You can check out the video series "The Pitch" hosted by Cody Marshall, Sarah Holub, and Jacob Adlis as they showcase news and information from around the world of Quidditch. The latest video is shown above.

Special thanks to all of the staff and especially Alex Benepe, the Commissioner of the IQA, for all of the hard work they do as Muggle Quidditch continues to grow at a rapid pace. Have you been to a tournament in your area recently? If not, be sure to check it out as Muggle Quidditch is a fast paced and hard played co-ed game with emphasis on fair play on many campuses around the world.
