Composer John Williams, known for his work on classic themes like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, and of course, Harry Potter, is being honored this Sunday, November 4th, at the 7th Annual Benefit Gala for Education Through Music-Los Angeles (ETM-LA). The event will also honor Los Angeles Unified School District music teacher Linda Mouradian.

ETM-LA is an organization whose mission is to promote music programs in disadvantaged schools, and helps provide music lessons and instruments in schools where children might not otherwise have access to these benefits. The gala is thrown to raise money to support these programs, and will include a silent auction, dinner and concert, and VIP party afterwards. If you happen to live in L.A. and believe in supporting a good cause, tickets to the event can be purchased at ETMLA.org.

During the event, an arrangement of Williams' "Dry Your Tears Afrika" and other pieces will be performed by students who have benefited from the program, and awards will be presented by many illustrious supporters of ETM-LA's cause, including actor Richard Dreyfuss.

John Williams, who has composed for over 100 films in a five-decade long career, is one of this year's "Shining Star" award winners, an honor which ETM-LA bestows upon two people each year "whose contributions through music have changed our lives."
