Harry Potter as a ballet? Sure, why not? The phenomenal tale created by J.K. Rowling has been made into an extremely popular musical by Starkid Productions, now the fandom will creat the tale of The Boy Who Lived into a ballet production with Warner Brothers blessing.

Stephanie Parrott recieved the permission from Warner Brothers stating to the Burton Mail:

"I’ve been told by someone from Warner Bros that I’m the first person to ask for the rights to perform the story as a ballet so they were very intrigued by my request.

I was inspired by the music and characters in the film and, although I do traditional ballets, I like to create ballets that nobody has done before.

I was excited to get the rights for the fourth time and I know the boys and girls really wanted to do it.”

The performance will feature original songs and include a medley of scenes from Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

The cast will include 170 children and the three leads are 12-year old students from John Taylor High School: Alexandra Holmes, from Barton, will play Harry Potter, Jessica Robb, from Yoxall is Ron Weasley and Abbie Law, from Barton, plays Hermione Granger.

The ballet will be staged at Burton’s Brewhouse arts centre on Friday, December 7 at 6.30pm, and Saturday, December 8 at 2.30pm and 6.30pm. Tickets are on sale at the venue priced 7.50 GBP and are available by telephoning the Brewhouse on 01283 508100.

Let us know if you will be attending this event next month.
