It is unbelievable to think that nearly two entire months have flown by since J.K. Rowling’s latest novel, The Casual Vacancy, was released, along with the wonderful storm of interviews that came along with it. Although the majority of this storm has sadly passed over, we are fortunate to report that there is yet another incredible interview with J.K. Rowling, this time with Jian Ghomeshi on CBC Radio’s “Q”.

This interview, although providing certain in-depth details behind The Casual Vacancy, focused more on many of J.K. Rowling’s own feelings and reactions towards the entire process of writing, publishing, and receiving criticism about the novel. J.K. Rowling touches on subjects ranging from whether she had any fears of failure and if publishing under a pseudonym was ever considered - to what she finds so interesting about adolescents, her response to the media’s representation of her, and her reaction upon the more negative reviews of The Casual Vacancy.

This is yet another example of the incomparable and indescribable talent that is J.K. Rowling, and is undoubtedly worth taking the time to listen to whether you have read The Casual Vacancy or not. Check out more Casual Vacancy interviews with J.K. Rowling right here.

What are your thoughts on this interview? Did you find any of the information about the novel or J.K. Rowling herself surprising?

Thanks to Karen for the tip!
