MuggleNet book reviewed by New York Times
This Sunday's edition of the New York Times will feature a review of MuggleNet.com's What Will Happen in Harry Potter 7:

The authors of "What Will Happen" run MuggleNet.com, a delightfully thorough and fanciful Web site devoted to all aspects of the world of Harry Potter. Though they self-deprecatingly call themselves Muggles - a Muggle is a person without the powers of a wizard - the authors of this rapt little volume appear to have magically transported every bit of information in the Potter epic into their own lively, teeming brains. They are as adept at parsing plot details as they are at anatomizing the characters' motives and predicting their next steps. The founder of MuggleNet.com - established when he was 12 - even has a name right out of Hogwarts: Emerson Spartz. Spartz and his colleagues apply themselves to every question and conundrum that Rowling (or J.K.R., as they affectionately refer to her) has created and thus far left unresolved.

You can read the full review online now and expect to find it in print this Sunday. There is also a small article on the online fandom (including a blurb about MuggleCast) that will accompany the review at this link. Interested in purchasing your own copy of the book? Click here!

That's so cool! Hopefully Harry Potter fans who don't visit MuggleNet will see it, go out and buy it, and become site regulars! This was definitely a great book and hopefully this publicity will be beneficial to the site and MuggleCast.

I loved the book! Congrats guys! Though... I must say, giving Lupin such a low survival rate (though potentially true) made me sad!!!

Posted by Anjelika Feb 8th 2007

Amazing. MuggleNet is really getting famous, eh? Congrats go to all MugglenNet's staff. Heh. Everyone please note that whenever MuggleNet and TLC are put in the same sentence MuggleNet is always first ;D. Just thought I should point that out. Awesome job guys!

Posted by MeNotHer Feb 8th 2007

That's exciting for mugglenet, however I'm not going to buy the book because what makes muggleneters believe that their theories are worth money? We all theorize and all those theories are already all over the forums. You're crazy if you think I'm gonna waste $13 on something I can get for free. The way to make money for mugglenet isn't by selling a product full of stuff that fans already have. It's by selling something different (you know, like their little t-shirts). Personally, I think it would've been classier if MG just wrote all those things as editorials. I skimmed through it at B&N and nothing in it was new. Not to mention the fact that they already got the release date theory wrong. I'm not trying to sound mean, but honestly, what makes the MG staff believe that their theories are worth money and ours aren't? Please.

Posted by danny Feb 8th 2007

@natasha - if nothing else you are giving something back to mugglenet, which you obviously use.

Posted by d0bbyr0cksmys0cks Feb 8th 2007

good job mugglenet! were proud of u =)

Posted by Mugglenet_Girl Feb 8th 2007

That was a beautiful review

Posted by natasha06 Feb 8th 2007

if you had actually read what I wrote danny i said they should sell other products. im not wasting my money on something I already have.

Posted by Ithilwen Feb 8th 2007

*whine* I want this book but I don't have the money for it! *cries*

Posted by marimekko Feb 8th 2007

ahh what happened??? omg im being completely serious, i first read the review on the home page and it talked about how thbp left 300 million readers waiting for more answers from jkr and something but "closure" etc etc, and then, after going to see tom feltons pic i went bak to the page and the review is completely different! what happened lol

Posted by Daaaawlish Feb 8th 2007

Just wanna say i really liked the book and i read it during the holidays, as a supplement to book seven in my harry potter book a day marathon, and it was great.
