MuggleNet book reviewed by New York Times
This Sunday's edition of the New York Times will feature a review of MuggleNet.com's What Will Happen in Harry Potter 7:

The authors of "What Will Happen" run MuggleNet.com, a delightfully thorough and fanciful Web site devoted to all aspects of the world of Harry Potter. Though they self-deprecatingly call themselves Muggles - a Muggle is a person without the powers of a wizard - the authors of this rapt little volume appear to have magically transported every bit of information in the Potter epic into their own lively, teeming brains. They are as adept at parsing plot details as they are at anatomizing the characters' motives and predicting their next steps. The founder of MuggleNet.com - established when he was 12 - even has a name right out of Hogwarts: Emerson Spartz. Spartz and his colleagues apply themselves to every question and conundrum that Rowling (or J.K.R., as they affectionately refer to her) has created and thus far left unresolved.

You can read the full review online now and expect to find it in print this Sunday. There is also a small article on the online fandom (including a blurb about MuggleCast) that will accompany the review at this link. Interested in purchasing your own copy of the book? Click here!

Yes yes.. mugglenet gets praise for their FANTASTIC work and the through improvement of many many many millions(?) of HP fans lives - myself included - who check mugglenet.com every day in the vain hope of ANY shread of HP news! THANKS LOADS MUGGLENET!! But JKR must also be thanked cus if it wasn't for her unusually ingenious brain i don't think any of us would be enjoying mugglenet or even (if we dare think it) Harry Potter itself!! Thanks jo and mugglenet! BTW: Jo, can you plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz tell us the title meaning? *smiles sweetly*

Awesome!! Congrats for the recognition! All of you deserve it so much!

Posted by Sophie Feb 8th 2007

Don't they affectionately refer to her as "Jo" more than "JKR"... just a thought. Great interview. Good job!

Posted by Witchy_Woman Feb 8th 2007

Wow! that's so good for you guys! I'm so proud of you! I really liked the book myself.

Posted by Allymarieus Feb 8th 2007

As of today, I can get my apparition license!

Posted by IWannaBeAWeasley Feb 8th 2007

You guys should all be very proud of yourselves. That was an excellent review and in the New York Times! Congrats guys. I really want to read that book now.

Posted by EmilyWood Feb 8th 2007

Question: how is Emerson Spartz "a name right out of Hogwarts"? Am I missing something here? P.S. Love the book! hehe.

Posted by Harryfan20 Feb 8th 2007

Hooray Mugglenet! That is awesome. You guys sure deserve it!

Posted by bettymonster Feb 8th 2007

Very very cool.

Posted by Bezoar Feb 8th 2007

Way to go guys!! (and girl). I loved the book. I'll probably read it a few more times before book 7 comes out...to get my Potter fix and all. I love how the reviewer thinks Emerson's name is wizard-ish. Thats great.

Posted by keri_potter Feb 8th 2007

i loved the book. bought it 4 days ago and finished it 2 days. im glad to see that people think the way i do. some of my ideas that i had are mentioned in that book. and they get it a better reason as to why i would be thinkin that. like the whole snape killing dumbledor. oh yeah did anyone notice how close one of the predictions came about the book title for the 7th book? it said harry potter and the hallows of hogwarts. that was really close. anyways the book was great and i recomend it to everyone who want to satisfy thier craving till book 7 actually comes out.

Posted by Hedwig_June Feb 8th 2007

I like the bit where they say, "People like this often end up getting hurt by windmills." YEAH! YEAH!! ALL RIGHT!!!!

Posted by ChoChang Feb 8th 2007

I am so happy for all of the Mugglenet crew and staff. I'm sad that I don't own the book since the shipping would cost more than the actual book itself. I hope I get to win one before book 7 comes out, though! Congratulation s to all of the Mugglenet people. You deserve every bit of it. I just hope that despite what other people say, you keep your feet on the ground and still remain level-headed. I've heard quite a lot of comments recently that there's an air of arrogance with the MuggleCast people, an undeniable air of ownership and smugness that is prominent in each episode - I really want them to be proved wrong. I've been a loyal Mugglenet junkie ever since its first conception - or at least, the very first time it appeared on yahoo.com or google when I typed in "Harry Potter" and never stopped going here though I may not be that active... It's actually because of Mugglenet that I recently started visiting TLC again after a few years, really. Mugglenet has achieved the "first in mind" status in terms of the TOP Harry Potter site in the WORLD. First in mind meaning that if HP fans were to ask what their favourite HP fan site is, or where they go to to get the latest and most accurate news, they'll always say Mugglenet. It's become a household name, a name that is imprinted in our minds, and yes, as corny as this may seem, forever. Mugglenet didn't just make an imprint on my mind, but has also touched my heart however cheesy this may sound. The site continuously gives back hope to our generation that the youth is capable of doing great things and achieve so much if we were just dedicated and passionate enough. The Mugglenet staff would probably be one of my closest friends, though it remains and would probably remain one way, for they've actually been the 'people' I run to for most of my life in terms of the whole Potter fandom that runs through approximately half of my life. We may all be quite made, honestly, but I'm loving every minute of i...

Congratulations guys! First that the New York Times even bothered to review it (You have no idea how many authors WISH the NYT would review their books) and second, it's such a fantastic review! WAY TO GO!! I have read your book and found it completely delightful as well as full of interesting theories that had not occured to me. I plan on keeping it close by when I am reading book 7, juuussst to see how accurate your theories end up. GOOD JOB!

Posted by auror1470 Feb 9th 2007

Way to go Mugglenet. I have read the book and loved it. I must admit that the introduction written by Emerson made me cry. He is a well spoken young man! Thank you for a fabulous book and a website that transports you into the fabulous world we all know and LOVE!

Posted by Harleen Feb 9th 2007

Congratulations! I read the review and was deeply impressed! Is it at all possible to buy the book in London? Or has it not been published here... Anyway... congrats again! That's increadibly amazing, you guys rock =]

Posted by FickleFlooPowder Feb 9th 2007

Oh lord...did anyone read the whole article? They're gonna start up another round of religious fanatics suddenly justifying their irrational hatred of a book they've never read because some idiot called it a religion...

Posted by Smarty_Roxy Feb 9th 2007

WOOT! WOOT! Congrats MuggleNet mods and owners, you deserve this honour. I'll definitely pick up a copy before July 21st:). I haven't read it yet, but I definitely trust the awesome authors. You guys walk on water. Jo, of course, walks on air.

Posted by sophia Feb 9th 2007

Posted by harryfreak_org Feb 9th 2007

wow... well done mugglenet!

Posted by proud_slytherin Feb 9th 2007

Congratz guys. Obviously the book has made enough buzz to be reviewed by the New York Times and that's awesome.

Posted by Nimue Feb 9th 2007

When I saw the word 'fanciful' I thought "oh dear, they're not going to take it seriously", but then the review comes up with some very neat points - proves that not all of the mainstream media is clueless about fandom. Nice review there.

Posted by mrsmarch Feb 9th 2007

Gee, it is the least you deserve guys. The book totally rocks!!!

Posted by polish Feb 9th 2007

I've skimmed through that book and everything that's in that book is on this site.

Posted by oomboo2 Feb 9th 2007

In the article they said the title of book 6 was "Harry and the Half-Blood Prince". They left out the Potter.

Posted by Bexxy Feb 9th 2007

"People like this often end up getting hurt by windmills."? *sigh* We're so misunderstood. Other than that, that was a good review. You guys deserve it!

Posted by beccabear747 Feb 9th 2007
