Gary Oldman signs on for film adaptation of 'Child 44'

We previously reported that Gary Oldman signed on for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and according to HollywoodReporter he also recently joined the cast of the 1950s soviet-era thriller, Child 44. In the film, Oldman will play the head policeman who suspects fellow actor Tom Hardy's character of murdering multiple children.

Child 44, based on the novel by Tom Rob Smith, was picked up by Lionsgate with Daniel Espinosa as the director. The film's release is set for sometime next year. We'll be sure to let you know as soon as more information is released.
