Last Thursday night on the television show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, host Jimmy Fallon informed the audience that the Quidditch World Cup would be held in Florida followed by a few satirical snaps at the players and fans. You can watch his skit right here at the 1:36 mark. Well Mr. Kimmel, we have a challenge for you:
Tommy McPhail, chaser for the Wizengamot Quidditch Club of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), has replied with his own video (seen above). By showcasing the intensity of Muggle Quidditch including some short clips from this past weekend's Quidditch World Cup, Tommy has sent an open invitation to Jimmy Fallon to attend a practice session (or even a match) and give quidditch a shot.
We support Tommy in this quest and hope to see Jimmy Fallon on the quidditch pitch soon.
We will be releasing all of our videos and a full recap of this past weekend's Quidditch World Cup soon.
Will you excuse me if I don't let you off homework today; I assure you that if you die, you need not hand it in.
Prof. McGonagall Prisoner of Azkaban
Quidditch started in the 11th century at a place called Queerditch Marsh, which is not marked on muggle maps because wizards have made the place unplottable. Originally it was quite a crude game played on broomsticks with just the quaffle.
