The revealing of the seventh re-designed Harry Potter U.S. book cover by artist Kazu Kibuishi took place this morning at Scholastic's headquarters in New York City. The ceremony coincided with Harry Potter (and author J.K. Rowling's) birthday, and marked the end of a drawn-out campaign of controlled releases put on by Scholastic in the previous months.
The re-designed covers hope to draw in young and new readers to Rowling's talent, evident in the new trailer, and for others will prove to be suitable replacements for their old and worn copies of the books, or as nice fresh collectors items. All books, including a box set featuring even more new artwork, will be available in stores on August 27th, 2013 and can be pre-ordered now.
